The Cockroaches’ Instagram has been posting clips to their Story of the lucky fans who have hunted down the exclusive single, playing only snippets of the song. Yesterday, (10 April) the account posted something of a teaser trailer for ‘Rough and Twisted.’ A short video showed someone queueing up a vinyl and sitting back to enjoy the rousing, guitar-laden intro before cutting off.

Everything began on April 1, as posters with only “The Cockroaches” printed on a pink background and a mysterious QR code began to appear around London. The code lead to www.thecockroaches.com, which is the band’s site. The Stones played a secret gig at the El Mocambo club in Toronto in 1977 and used “The Cockroaches” as a pseudonym to draw away suspicion. So, fans made the connection between the Stones and the cryptic pink posters fairly quick.

The Cockroaches’ website depicts a bedroom, outfitted in 70s regalia: a mod patterned quilt, vintage concert tickets on a corkboard, a rotary phone, ‘Ziggy Stardust’ and other iconic records resting on a shelf. There is also a poster, similar to the ones seen around London, for The Cockroaches. And on the wall, a clock which reads Saturday April 11, 2026 at 1:41 PM.

Many secrets were hidden in the site including links to mailing lists, the words “Mr. Charm” and a poster for the recently released ‘Live at the El Mocambo’ album embedded in the code. But fans also found a photo of the ‘Rough and Twisted’ vinyl, with GPS coordinates printed on its back, directing fans where to go to pick up this exclusive white-label release.

The Times confirmed the release of the single before April 11, saying they had heard the song. They reported that on it, Mick Jagger sings about driving “down a rough and twisted road all the way to Puerto Rico, where the tide ebbs and flows and you do feel that something sexual may be happening along the way.” The Times also reported that ‘Rough and Twisted’ is the lead single of a new album coming in July, the name of which has yet to be unveiled. It also reported that the upcoming release will not be the last one from the rock legends, and there are at least 10 songs written for a separate release, coming at some point after the July release.

The July release will be produced by Andrew Watt, who previously worked with the band on their 2024 release, ‘Hackney Diamonds.’ Watts has also previously worked with Paul McCartney, Ozzy Osborn and Pearl Jam.

There is no word on a tour to support the unnamed July release. NME reported that a spokesperson for the band told The Times, “The Rolling Stones will play when they decide to, not before. There are no concerts planned.”

Beabadoobee told Dazed she was inspired by Yorgos Lanthimos’ 2025 film, Bugonia when it came to the ‘All I Did Was Dream of You’ music video. She said, “that last scene [in the film] inspired the video.” Shot in Lithuania and co-directed by longtime collaborator Jake Erland alongside Lithuanian director AboveGround, the video opens on the image of a smoking car wreck, and ends with the fiery beginnings of the event. Between, are stoic and cinematic shots of the singer against various backdrops including frozen lakes, snow-covered city corners and bars decked in wood paneling. The singer described the experience of shooting the video to Dazed: “it was −17C there – I could have died! I was singing on this frozen lake; it was f**king crazy but it looks so beautiful.”

The Lanthimos inspiration is felt throughout the video through various uncanny images: the singer lounging on a bare bed as a crowd peers through the window at her, a desolate meat counter near closing time with the singer lying in a case next to the raw meats and dancing in a spotlight on a snowy field as a flare lights up the sky. The images call to themes present in the dream pop-alt rock song: longing, nostalgia, and the desire to understand others’ perceptions of oneself.

María Zarodoya, lead singer of The Marías, could not be in the video, but Beebadoobee said “she sang beautifully on the song and was really encouraging.” The Marías were nominated for Best New Artist at the 68^th Grammy Awards earlier this year.

Beabadoobee has taken two years off releasing new music of her own. But just earlier this month she contributed a cover of Eliot Smith’s ‘Say Yes’ to the War Child charity collaboration ‘Help(2).’ But 2026 is set to be an exciting year for the singer. She says ‘All I Did Was Dream of You’ acts as a “ a nice bridge to the next thing I want to release” and that she “can’t wait to release something.” She went on to say her two year break allowed her look at her music with “more integrity” and that if she doesn’t believe a song is “perfect” she does not want to release it.

Critics have said the single is “ a soft reset, a moment of stillness, a shared vision between two artists who understand the power of atmosphere. It feels like the start of a new chapter — not louder, but deeper.”

In an Instagram post, the singer shared a photo of herself holding a journal with the track list written in pen, along with drawings and brackets which explain the album’s four-act structure. This homespun reveal cements itself as a Raye tradition—in 2023 the singer revealed the track list of her debut album in the same fashion.

‘This May Contain Hope’ presents itself as a concept album, based around an emotional journey throughout the four seasons. Beginning in Autumn and ending in Summer, each season represents one act and contains four songs, with the exception of Summer which will have five.

Exciting collaborations were revealed with the songs: ‘Click Clack Symphony’ will feature Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer; and ‘Goodbye Henry’ will feature renowned Hall of Fame soul singer, Al Green. These are two impressive features to score on an artist’s second album. But Raye is also keeping this project close to her heart with contributions from three of her family members. ‘Fields’ will feature her ‘Grandad Michael,’ a songwriter in his own right. And track 15, ‘Joy’ will feature Raye’s younger sisters, Abby-Lynn Keen and Laura Keen, known by their respective stage names of Absolutely and Amma. The three sisters have appeared together professionally multiple times: on the cover of Flaunt magazine as well as on the Graham Norton show, and performing together at the 2025 Jingle Ball. 

Raye’s second album has marked itself as a family project since the beginning. The runaway lead single, ‘Where Is My Husband!’ saw a contribution from the singer’s grandmother, Agatha Dawson-Amoah, who delivered the now famous line, “Your husband is coming.” She is listed in the album’s eclectic cast of characters as ‘Gramma.’ A portion of the album’s entire cast can be seen in the sneak peak at the vinyl gatefold shared by the singer in her Tuesday evening Instagram post. The collaborators listed previously are visible there, as well as four of the album’s co-producers: Mike Sabath, Tom Richards, Chris Hill and Pete Clements.

Also in the post, the singer included a note that said “to the mean person who leaked my tracklist you rlly suck (big thumbs down)” as the singer gave the camera a displeased double thumbs-down. But despite leaks, fans have been eager to share their enthusiasm over these album details, now revealed on the singer’s terms.

One fan on X says, “THIS ALBUM WILL BE EVERYTHING AND MORE TRUST!!!!” While on Reddit, one user said they were particularly excited about the contributions from Al Green and Hans Zimmer and the album was “about to be right at the top of my Spotify wrapped.”

Raye is currently on her This Tour May Contain New Music Tour which is set to next land in the US and Canada at the end of the month. True to the tour’s name, she has already given a great deal of her second album’s songs their live debut. Fans have commented on ‘Joy,’ ‘Click Clack Symphony,’ ‘Beware.. The South London Lover Boy’ and ‘Skin & Bones’ as being early favourites.

The album releases 27 March 2026. Until then, in her Instagram post, Raye suggests fans “choose their season” and “claim their title.”

Jack Gardiner, hailing from the Liverpool area, is something of a hidden gem, nestling in the realm between a multitude of genres and styles. While on the surface an extraordinarily talented jazz fusion guitarist, his masterful shredding encompasses rock, funk, blues, and far more. Past singles this year from his ‘Urushi’ EP, ‘Shibuya Meltdown’, ‘Eightfold Fence’, and ‘Mugen’, have tinkered with traditional Japanese sounds and instrumentation, all under under his laser-focused guitar playing.

But it is this final single, ‘Taxman’ that crowns his year off in beautiful fashion. Recorded with frequent collaborators Owane, a Norwegian multi-instrumentalist and producer, and Henrik Linder, best known as the virtuoso bassist of experimental Swedish group Dirty Loops, the whole composition is an eclectic treasure trove of good vibes without a vocalist in sight.

While the funky bass pops harken back to US easy listening music of the late 20^th century, and the synths wash over like a summer breeze, it is of course the electric guitar that is the centrepiece, a mix of melodies you could almost sing along to, followed by Gardiner’s lightning-fast lead work. All of the elements blend to create a groovy bite of nostalgia and warmth.

As if the track itself wasn’t enough to evoke a feeling of summer, then the accompanying music video must be. Filmed on location on the coast of Norway, it features scenic views of the three musicians out on the cliffs, with the backdrop of crystal clear Nordic waters. When contrasted with the bleak sight outside English windows currently, you can tell why they didn’t attempt to film it here. And the playful, yet bizarre editing showcases that these three artists are having as much fun creating this music as listeners will be upon hearing it.

Jack Gardiner himself is an interesting character. He currently lives in Switzerland, where as well as writing his own music, he applies his talents to instructional courses and teaching materials for other keen guitarists. Having been in the spotlight as a unique talent since the age of 15, he caught the eye of many greats of the guitar world such as Tom Quayle, Rick Graham, and the renowned innovator Steve Vai.

Now Gardiner himself is on a rise of his own, releasing a diverse set of distinctive singles across 2025, as well as featuring as the lead artist on the promotional track ‘Matterhorn’ for guitar plug-in developer Neural DSP. With so much output, we can expect everything that comes after ‘Taxman’ to be just as exciting.

Jack Gardiner’s 2025 EP ‘Urushi’ and single Taxman, are available to buy on his Bandcamp store, and are also on streaming services. His educational courses are available on his website, and he is forecast to release a full album of material in February 2026.

The tracks, titled ‘Zahl am1 live track 1’ and ‘Zahl am1 live track 1c f760m1 unfinshd,’ appear to be closely related versions of the same piece. Both recordings lean into the intricate, mechanical textures that have defined a lot of Richard D. James’ output, particularly his more experimental live material. As with many Aphex Twin uploads, the titles don’t offer much of a direct explanation, instead hinting at technical processes or performance notes.

The uploads arrived without any formal announcement, label backing, or promotional fanfare. Fans only noticed the tracks once they appeared on the James’ SoundCloud page, which has become an informal archive of unreleased works, alternate mixes, and live recordings stretching back several years. The more attentive Aphex Twin fans always manage to catch these uploads within minutes of their release.

Both tracks are accompanied by the same cover image: a photograph showing James with his partner while swimming in the sea.

In the description attached to the second track, James offered a rare personal note. He explained that many fans had been requesting this particular piece for years and that he finally decided to upload it. He also mentioned recent rainy weather in the UK and referenced the cover photo taken in Sicily. According to the description, the track was mixed on a Zähl mixer, and James suggested that the versions uploaded may not be final, hinting that higher-quality or alternate mixes could surface in the future if he locates them.

The new SoundCloud uploads follow a series of similar releases over recent years, during which Aphex Twin has used the platform to share rare recordings, live tracks, and experimental pieces. For fans, the appearance of new material, however understated, remains a significant event.

The next project from Manchester based band, The 1975 may be a lot closer than we thought.

The bands notoriously charismatic front man, Matty Healy, shared exclusive details with a young fan during a Q&A at Gateshead College. Invited into the college campus to partake in a songwriting workshop, teaching students about his songwriting process and offering exceptional first-class advice, the lead singer shared far more than the students expected.

Healy confirmed to an excited student that ‘DOGS’ is the name of their upcoming studio album before adding “We made two. It might be one it might be two, but we’ve made two albums” This appears to be the only information thus far, but it has provided fans with something to chew on for the time being.

The secretive project will be the bands sixth studio album. Their last album release was in 2022 when they graced listeners with ‘Being Funny In a Foreign Language’. A project that reignited the bands relevancy, resulting in them racking up countless new fans and headlining Glastonbury Festival in 2025. The terminology, ‘DOGS’ is not entirely alien as during the bands stellar Glastonbury performance the word flashed up in red at their curtain call. It was also plastered across the band’s drummer, George Daniel’s drum kit all throughout the show.

The 1975 are pretty infamous for delaying album releases past their expected date. The band delayed the release of their 2020 album, “Notes on a conditional form” several times before finalising the release date. The adventurous project was initially scheduled to release in May 2019 before being pushed back to February 2020. The band then reassured fans with a release date of April 24, 2020, before at long last releasing May 22, 2020. Although due to the COVID-19 pandemic this has put a sour taste in some fans’ mouths when it comes to The 1975 announcing new album release dates.

It would be absolutely no surprise to fans if the band elicits radio silence following this new advancement. Healy is a known perfectionist and if something does not quite align with his projects, he is likely to set it on fire and start again. Panic spread across fans recently as on November 4, the frontman removed the song ‘Human Too,’ the ninth track featured on ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’ from all streaming platforms simply because he changed his mind and no longer approved of its spot on the album. If you own a physical copy of ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’ count yourself lucky as it’s currently the only way to legally listen to ‘Human Too.’

Despite excitement growing and rumours floating around, there is an unspoken certainty that whenever the band chooses to release their work it will be when the time is right. Not ones to rush their craft, The 1975 are guaranteed to release an exceptional record when they feel they are ready, even if that means Healy must make a few last-minute snips.

The album, which will be her first album release as a solo artist, will be released 20 February and is available to pre-order here.

She also released a new single this morning ‘Dead And Gone’, which follows from her previous singles ‘Been A Minute’ and ‘Burning Up’.

Speaking about the album, Leigh-Anne said: “This album is the truest representation of me as an artist. Versatile, rooted in reggae and my heritage, but stamped with pop. It’s personal and impossible to box in.”

“I wanted it to feel authentic, blending the genres I love with a sound that’s distinctly mine. It’s also a statement: standing by my art and doing it my way,” she continued saying, “These are songs I’ll be proud of in five, ten years, because they reflect exactly where I was.”

“You’ll hear my world in it, my daughters, my marriage, my fight for power, and the moment I embraced my fire side and said: no more. This is my show now.”

Alongside the news of her album, Leigh-Anne also announced the ‘My Ego Told Me To‘ Tour which will include dates around the UK next April.

After the release of ‘Been A Minute’, Leigh-Anne sat with Rolling Stones to talk about going independent and kicking off a new era.

“It’s been the most freeing experience watching my vision come to life,” she told us. “For the ‘Been a Minute’ music video I wanted to create a space where everyone feels like they can be themselves unapologetically.”

She described the single as “the perfect way to introduce this new era.”

“It represents freedom, being fully in control and a sound that I feel needs to be heard and celebrated this summer. I didn’t lie when I said it’s the song of the summer, I dare you to try not to dance once you hear it.”

She also said that fans can expect to see a new side to her as she takes control over her career, “Everything done on my terms, taking more risks, worrying less about what people think and other people’s expectations of me. We’re coming to disrupt. No more miss nice girl…”

Released today, the track was first teased earlier this month by Jisoo, and makes this song her first new material outside of BLACKPINK since releasing ‘Amortage’ earlier this year.

Their new single ‘Eyes Closed’ is a pop track that sees the pair sing about a romantic connection that has failed due to their respective pasts.

Lyrics such as, “Say, oh, we should fall in love with our eyes closed / Better if we keep it where we don’t know / The beds we been in, the names and the faces of who we were with / And oh, ain’t nobody perfect but it’s all good / The past can’t hurt us if we don’t look / Let’s let it go, better if we fall in love with our eyes closed.” describe the romantic connection.

Jisoo and Zayn Malik have released a cinematic music video inspired by sci-fi. The pair can be seen stranded alone in a spaceship floating around in space.

Ahead of the release of the song, Zayn teased new music was coming “soon with another cool collaborator”.

This got fans’ speculating that he would be teaming up with the BLACKPINK member ahead of its confirmation.

Zayn began his solo career in 2o16 with this single ‘Pillowtalk’ and debut album ‘Mind of Mine’.

Both of these reached number 1 in the UK charts.

Zayn’s later albums ‘Icarus Falls’, ‘Nobody Is Listening’, and ‘Room Under The Stairs‘ showcased his R&B influence, sound, emotional depth and artistic independence.

Zayn announced a Las Vegas residency for 2026 where he will play seven nights at the Dolby Live at Park MGM in January.

These are his second run of shows since leaving One Direction in 2015.

He previously played the ‘Stairway To The Sky’ tour in November 2024, which saw him pay tribute to the late Liam Payne on the screen behind him.

The Vegas shows are described as “only the beginning of what will be a massive year for Zayn.”

The lead track arrives as a poignant opening to what the band has described as an album centred on misinformation, control, and the manipulation of bodies and minds. Lead vocalist, Florence Shaw, comments, ‘Hit My Head All Day’ seeks to catch the insidious influence of prevailing disinformation, commenting, “there are powerful people that seek to influence our behaviour… It’s easy to fall under the influence of a sinister stranger who seems like a friend”.

The upcoming album ‘Secret Love’, following their last release in 2022 with ‘Stumpwork’, will showcase 11 new tracks, including the ahead-of-release single. The album itself was recorded over multiple locations, spanning Jeff Tweedy’s Chicago studio The Loft, to Dublin’s Sonic Studios, and was produced by musician Cate Le Bon in France at Black Box studio. A glimpse at the album’s body of work includes titles like ‘Cruise Ship Designer’, ‘Rocks’, and the intriguingly suggestive ‘Secret Love (Concealed in a Drawing of a Boy)’.

The release of the band’s third album marks the purposeful combination of ambition and care. Shaw and the bandmates have travelled to various locations and selected specific collaborating members in order to curate the finished project, working primarily in England with members of ‘Gilla Band’, the likes of Alan Duggan and Daniel Fox, before heading to France to finalise the project with Le Bon in France. The underlying intent throughout the creative process maintains focus on their signature blend of new sound and distinctive lyricism, contributing to their global profile.

Dry Cleaning, along with this announcement of new music, continues to embark on their 2025 tour. Upcoming global dates in Brooklyn, Madrid, London, and Barcelona are likely to hear the first live performances of ‘Hit My Head All Day’, ahead of ‘Secret Love’ full arrival.

The announcement, however, also marks a clear thematic evolution for Dry Cleaning, as they continue to push their core investment in post-punk instrumentation in a new direction. The band’s earlier works, ‘New Long Leg’ (2021) and ‘Stumpwork’ (2022), have cemented their mastery of the genre, established primarily through Shaw’s observational yet unsettling vocals. With ‘Secret Love’, it appears the band are determined to continue this trajectory into a further commentary of their own sonic expansion.

With the release of “Hit My Head All Day”, alongside the prospects of their album release, Dry Cleaning have set the tone for their future music: internally uneasy, introspective, and with a sharp awareness of a media-saturated world.

With January drawing closer, listeners and critics will have both eyes and ears set on the release date. ‘Secret Love’ on the horizon promises a tension between restraint and unease, with their previewing track ‘Hit My Head All Day’ signalling the grip Dry Cleaning have on the post-punk landscape.

After months of build-up, this announcement marks the first official unpolished preview since the release of the title track ‘Everybody Scream’ earlier this summer, on August 20, 2025. The resounding impression left by this initial glimpse at the new album was one of theatrical intensity and haunting emotional depth, channeling a type of tension caught between a performance persona and internal vulnerability. This marks her dramatic return to the music scene following a life-threatening emergency in 2023; a return that is marked by captivating directness yet unshakeably underpinned by chaos.

In contrast to this poignant and polished first album release single, the footage shared on the band’s social media channels proves to be a glimpse of something more visceral and immediate.

Earlier this year, Florence Welch shared an aesthetic and auditory mood board, marking her intent with the production of the upcoming album. Alongside the help of featured collaborators, like Mark Bowen (of ‘Idles’) , the overwhelming creative vision was one of “witchcraft, folk horror, mysticism, magic, poetry [and] insanity“. Although the creative details of ‘One of the Greats’ remain limited so far, the looser, stripped-back production in this smaller clip suggests the album’s later releases seek to tilt further into this thematically sinister idea.

The audio teasers also accompany an aesthetic anticipation of the album’s release, with the band’s social media channels again curating a type of mysticism, poetic narrative – posting surreal photography, with clips of Welch screaming in a field and marked in imagery seeped in folklore or witchcraft-esque ideas.

As October approaches, bringing with it the last month countdown to Florence + The Machine’s new album, the energy and marked return to Welch’s music career bring with it an increasing anticipation for the album as a whole. Fans have been left in chilling suspense as they await the twelve-track album to be released on Halloween, including a deluxe edition with additional chamber-versions of four songs. With Halloween fast approaching, ‘One of the Greats’ offers a tantalising hint of the tone Florence + The Machine are preparing to unveil.
