The London based noise-rock band Green Star have shared a hypnotic and ethereal new music video on 6 May for their single ‘Spider’s Without Eyes’. The song features as the final track on their latest EP release ‘Bleeding Swirls’, released on 3 May.

From the underground warehouse scene, Green Star have emerged to share their haunting artistry in the rock scene. With strong experimental and shoegaze influence, their latest music video reflects the sombre artistry of the band. Their single comes with shots of vocalist Lilah Bobak running through foggy English fields in a gloomy aesthetic reminiscent of several pieces of popular British media including British TV show Skins.

The London gloom aesthetic is of great importance to the band’s image and sound, with their life in England inspiring the production of ‘Bleeding Swirls’.

The band was formed in 2024 by Spanish musicians Pedro Soler and Albert De Torre who initially played together in the ambient-noise band Soft Nukes. The two then met Bobak on the website joinmyband.com and they began incorporating an experimentalism to their sound. Since then they have taken the scene by storm, amassing over 3,000 listeners on Spotify and a dedicated fanbase on social media with their debut single ‘Blades Of Steel’ earlier this year.

In an interview with The Rolling Stones, the band share their lyrical influence, stating that “Everything seems like it’s collapsing, but at the same time, there’s, some certain light always there.” Their sound reflects this with a rough noise edge and tender ambience which has been prevalent since ‘Blades Of Steel’.

The band shared their creative thoughts and inspirations for ‘Bleeding Swirls’ in an interview with Dork magazine. When explaining their relationship with noise rock, they share “It embodies disruption, intuition, and a certain rawness that helps us communicate—it’s a visceral language.” Lyrically their music challenges an existentialism, a theme they describe as “introspection and searching”. With the band originating in the warehouse scene, they share how their sound ties in with their lives, explaining “the city’s often gloomy nature heavily influences how we write and envision the world in which our music exists.”

Their music videos also exist in this space, with Bobak’s background in dance and Soler’s in filmmaking, this creative magnetism runs through their projects. Their artistry can further be seen in the music video for their single ‘Four-O-Five’.

Today (7 May) they will be hosting a release show with So Young Records at The Social, London as part of their UK tour which commenced on 4 May in Leeds. Tickets are available here.

Sam Fender has just dropped the music video for his latest single, ‘People Watching’, which features none other than the beloved Irish actor Andrew Scott, best known for his roles in Fleabag and All of Us Are Strangers . The video, filmed in California, follows Scott’s character as he wakes up on a random street and continues on a journey across America. Along the way, he crosses paths with strangers, sharing moments of connection through conversation and dance. As the video unfolds, it becomes clear that his journey is more than just physical; it’s an emotional reflection on his past, particularly special memories of his mother. The cinematic visuals, combined with Scott’s expressive performance, bring a whole new depth to the song’s themes of nostalgia, loneliness, and human connection.

The track is the latest preview of Fender’s highly anticipated third album, also titled ‘People Watching’, which is set to arrive on 21 February 2025. The song itself is deeply personal, written as a tribute to Annie Orwin, a close friend whom Fender described as a “surrogate mother” to which he honours at the end of the video. Inspired by his walks to and from her care home, ‘People Watching’ captures the quiet beauty of observing life and death unfold from the sidelines. Musically, it delivers Fender’s signature soaring melodies and anthemic sound, packed with emotional intensity and honest lyrics.

Ahead of the album’s release, Fender has already given fans a taste of what’s to come with two other singles, ‘Arms Length’ and ‘Wild Long Lie’. ‘Arms Length’ leans into his rock influences, featuring driving guitars and powerful vocals, with imagery of being avoidant represented best through the lyrics, “Do you have to know me inside out?”. However ‘Wild Long Lie’ is a more reflective, atmospheric track that showcases his talent for telling stories of his hometown. Both songs hint at the emotional depth and sonic range of ‘People Watching‘, making it one of his most anticipated releases yet.

2025 is shaping up to be a huge year for Fender, with a major U.S. and European tour on the horizon. After taking some time off from touring after his UK and Ireland tour due to his vocal cords, he’s set to return to the stage in a big way. Following his monumental sold-out shows at St James’ Park in 2023, the Geordie is also doing another few dates at St James’ Park in June 2025, but this time with the addition of London Stadium.

On top of this, Fender has been nominated for two major awards at the 2025 BRITs: Artist of the Year and Best Alternative or Rock Act. It’s yet another sign of his growing influence in the music world, as he continues to push the boundaries of modern rock with his deeply personal songwriting and larger-than-life sound.

With a stunning music video, a highly anticipated album, and a massive tour lined up, this year is shaping up to be a defining moment in Fender’s career. He has always had a way of turning personal experiences into anthems that resonate with thousands, and ‘s no exception. If the last few latest releases are anything to go by, 2025 is going to be a huge year for him.

Inhaler have released the music video for their latest single, ‘A Question of You’, offering fans a visual to accompany another new track from their upcoming album, ‘Open Wide’, set to drop on February 7, 2025. This release marks an important milestone for the band as they continue to refine their artistic identity ahead of a massive year.

The music video features a fun, chaotic heist with a darkly funny twist. It starts with a man trying to buy back a ring he pawned, but when the shopkeeper won’t sell it back, he completely loses it and starts smashing the shop up. But amongst all the chaos, the members of Inhaler show up wearing masks, turning it into a real robbery, and ultimately swipe the exact ring the man was after. It’s packed with twists, humour, and cool visuals, perfectly capturing the song’s vibe while showing off the band’s playful side.

Musically, ‘A Question of You’ is a blend of anthemic indie rock and emotive introspection. Produced by Grammy-winning Kid Harpoon, the song features driving rhythms, layered guitars, and Hewson’s heartfelt vocals, which come together in a way that feels raw yet polished. Lyrically, it delves into themes of self-awareness and the courage to be open, featured in the lines “I am the answer to the question of you.”

The video comes just weeks before the release of ‘Open Wide’ and the launch of the band’s Open Wide World Tour, which will kick off in February. Beginning with a string of sold-out UK dates, including two nights at London’s O2 Academy Brixton, the tour will see the band head across Europe and the US, joined by Blossoms for their May hometown show at St Anne’s Park in Dublin. It’s clear that this tour is shaping up to be their biggest one yet, as they bring new music and insane amounts of energy to fans around the world.

Inhaler’s rise has been steady since their debut album, ‘It Won’t Always Be Like This’, which rocket-launched them to fame with its chart-topping success in both the UK and Ireland in 2021. Their 2023 release, ‘Cuts & Bruises’, further solidified their place as one of the most exciting acts in modern indie rock peaking at number 2 in the charts. Now, with ‘A Question of You’ and earlier album teases of ‘Your House’ and ‘Open Wide’, the band continues to push boundaries, combining thoughtful themes with a bold, edgy vibe that has become their signature sound.

With ‘A Question of You’ offering a glimpse of what’s ahead, 2025 is shaping up to be a landmark year for Inhaler. The band continues to push boundaries both musically and creatively, breathing new life into the art of the music video with fresh perspectives and bold storytelling that entertains many fans across the globe.

Twenty One Pilots have just released a brand-new single and video.

Following on from the previously released Overcompensate and Next Semester, the Duo have now shared Backslide—from their upcoming album ‘Clancy’.

There is also a music video for Backslide—directed by drummer Josh Dun—with throwbacks to other huge moments in their discography, including the bike riding from Stressed Out. Their mascot, Ned from the Chlorine video, has similarities to Scaled and Icy’s Choker and even more.

Clancy is due to be released a week later than originally planned, on May 24th, with frontman Tyler Joseph explaining that they need a little more time to finish up all the album’s music videos.

“When I first told Josh [Dun, drummer] and Mark [Eshleman, collaborator] and everyone on our team that I wanted to do a music video for every song on the album Clancy that’s coming up, I told them it’s because I love these songs, and I believe in them enough to pretend to sing in front of a camera to each one,” he said. “And that’s what we’re going to do, because that’s how I want to present this album.

“But because of that, in order to accomplish that, we need a little bit more time – that’s why I’m making this video. We’re going to push the album back by one week, to May 24.”

Watch the video for Backslide below:

Over 20 years since its initial release, never-before-seen footage of Amy Winehouse has now been unveiled to the public in a brand new lyric video for her 2003 single ‘In My Bed’. Posted on Winehouse’s official YouTube account earlier this week, the video features unused rushes and outtakes from the original 2004 video shoot that until now had never seen the light of day.

Shot by director Paul Gore, the fresh-faced 20-year-old Winehouse can be seen wandering the halls of a swanky, dimly lit hotel carrying a guitar case, which leads her to eventually join a band of musicians in a grand ballroom. The singer-songwriter is followed in a voyeuristic fashion throughout the hotel, with the lens peering at her through bannisters and capturing her laughing, posing and causing mischief in one of the bedrooms.

However, her famous beehive hairdo is nowhere to be seen as the clips predate her ‘Back to Black’ era. Instead, it captures her in the early days of her 2003 debut album ‘Frank’ for which she received an Ivor Novello award for achievements in songwriting. The album was re-released as a deluxe edition in 2008, and was reissued on vinyl in 2015 following the release of the documentary film about her life the same year, simply titled ‘Amy’.

A new biopic about Winehouse is also set to hit cinemas this April. Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, the film ‘Back to Black’ will focus on her rambunctious relationship with ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, and how it inspired her to write such a groundbreaking album. The first trailer hit the internet earlier this month to a heavy amount of criticism, with many fans left concerned that the portrayal on screen will not honour her in the way that she deserves.

There is a sense that Winehouse is being presented as a larger-than-life caricature, rather than the vulnerable, complex human being that she was. Others believe that her story should be laid to rest, and that any hardship and pain she suffered should no longer be profited from. Despite the controversy surrounding its release, the Winehouse camp are openly supporting it in its promotion, sharing the trailer across multiple social media channels.

More than a decade on since Winehouse’s tragic death, her presence and significance within music and pop culture is still as prevalent as ever. Last year marked the singer’s 40th birthday, with legendary producer and close friend of Amy, Mark Ronson, paying tribute to her in an Instagram post which featured clips of them working alongside each other in the studio. Her North London stomping ground, Camden, was also the centre of a series of one-off shows celebrating her life, including her original band performing a tribute gig at iconic music venue KOKO last month.

In celebration of the new material, the artist has also shared that she has made a new playlist available on Spotify featuring tracks from her back catalog produced by Parish and Flood. Listen below:

Prolific English photographer Steve Gullick (who has photographed Harvey as well as Elliott Smith, Kurt Cobain, Mark E Smith, Björk, Nick Cave, and Lou Reed, to name a handful of musical icons) directed the music video for “A Child’s Question, August”, which will accompany the single.

A year ago, PJ let slip to the Observer in her first interview in ten years that her 10th studio solo album was indeed on its way. “I’m really pleased with it,” she said, “and I’m my own harshest critic”. She also confirmed in her Rolling Stone interview last year we could expect it this summer. Now it seems that the wait for the LP is nearly over.

Harvey’s been busy since her last studio album, 2016’s The Hope Six Demolition Project, was released seven years ago. Her first full-length narrative poem, Orlam, which took six years to write, was published last year. A coming-of-age story written in the Dorset dialect, it was applauded for its blending of light and dark and visceral nature imagery. She’s also worked on two soundtracks: one instrumental for the 2019 stage adaptation of All About Eve featuring Gillian Anderson and Lily James and another for the 2022 Irish TV series Bad Sisters alongside Tim Phillips.

Over the last three years, the artist has also shared previously unheard demos for all her studio albums. Talking to Rolling Stone about her decision to release the demos she said, “I think because a lot of time had passed since making those demos and now, it felt like a nice thing to do. To let people in, to see a little more of the process, how the songs first start”.

English singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding has released her fifth studio album, Higher than Heaven, an escapist dance album that sees the singer going back to what she does best: chart-topping pop. The energetic 11-track album was released on 7th April and is the singer’s first album since 2020’s Brightest Blue. Higher than Heaven debuted at number one on the UK Album Charts.

“My new thing is acknowledging the things I’m good at, and I’m good at writing pop songs,” Goulding said in an interview with NME. “I’ve made a classical album, I’ve made electronic music and I regularly give my vocal away to producers like Four Tet. There are so many genres of music that I’ve been lucky to explore but when it comes down to it, I really just love making big pop songs that you hear on the radio.”

Work started on the album when the lockdown restrictions in the UK were lifted. She continued to tell NME that she didn’t “intentionally make an album that people can dance to and forget their worries” but it’s “what we needed to do for ourselves coming out of a really bizarre, surreal time”.

On the day Higher than Heaven was released, an ethereally nocturnal video for the track “Better Man” premiered that sees Goulding singing cast in pulsating red and blue hues. The video follows the two other music videos released for Higher than Heaven. Single “Like a Saviour” received a video in February and the title track “Higher than Heaven” received a video in October of last year.

Watch the video for “Better Man” below:

Originally the album was announced to be released in February but was pushed back as Goulding struggled to find suitable eco-friendly materials for the LP’s physical release. According to the singer’s Instagram post the vinyl is a “100% recycled colour compound which would’ve otherwise been wasted, in a recycled sleeve, and then wrapped in a renewable plant based wrap”.

The Herefordshire-born singer will embark on her tour supporting Higher than Heaven in October later this year. The 12-date tour, will start in Dublin and finish in Berlin in November. In the meantime, Ellie will be performing at sold-out venues across the UK and Europe this spring and summer. For tickets and more information see here.

In March, the singer’s collaboration with Scottish DJ and producer Calvin Harris on the trancey single “Miracles” earned the singer a position at number one on the UK Singles Chart. The song marked the artists’ third time collaborating having worked on 2013’s “I Need Your Love” and 2014’s “Outside” together.

Inhaler have released a music video for their new single, “If You’re Gonna Break My Heart.”

This is the third single taken from their newest album, Cuts & Bruises, released in February 2023. The album reached No.2 on the UK Albums Chart and No.1 on the Irish Albums Chart.

Speaking to NME about the inspiration behind the track, the band said, “Whilst on tour in America last year we were listening to a lot of music by some of the great American writers such as Bob Dylan, The Band, Bruce Springsteen etc. Listening to these artists while travelling on big open highways resonated with us and helped shape this song into making us sound more like a live band than we had before.”

Inhaler have reached new heights this year, supporting Arctic Monkeys on tour. Frontman Eli Hewson shared his thoughts with NME, saying, “It’s hard to not feel like a child when you’re around them.”

He continued, “It still isn’t really resonating that we’re doing it. But they’re the most lovely and welcoming guys, so we’ve just got to try and be the best band we can.”

Speaking on the band’s touring plans of their own, Hewson said, “It’s going to be a better show. It’s not just five lads on stage chancing their arm anymore; we actually have to step up and make it a real thing.”

Inhaler also spoke on their struggles around making their new album and found reassurance in watching Peter Jackson’s Get Back Beatles documentary.

Drummer Ryan McMahon said, “You’re watching the greatest band of all time and go through their own problems and their own struggles. You think, ‘That’s a perfect record – how could there be anything wrong with it?’, and then you see what their relationship was like. It gave us a sense that, though we were at loggerheads sometimes, we were all working on something that felt good and felt right.”

The band’s fanbase is certain to widen even further this year, as they are set to support Harry Styles on the UK and European legs of ‘Love On Tour.‘

Inhaler are also about to embark on their own European and UK tour, with tickets available to purchase here.

UK pop sensation Shygirl takes us on a trip down the uncanny valley with her latest video for her haunting new single “Playboy/Positions”. The single, released on the 4th April, is the fourth track to be issued from Shygirl’s upcoming deluxe album Nymph_o.

Toying with dark sensualness, the first half of the song, “Playboy” starts with a dissonant melody with Shygirl cooling rapping over the top. In the video, a bikini-clad woman spins around a pole in a dark room an eerie face-printed mask obscuring her face. Shy introduces the second half of the song by uttering, “Wait let me just change positions quickly”, the beat quickening with the singer adopting a breathier vocal style. The video for the “Positions” portion features two tattooed men wrestling on a dry grassy football pitch.

Watch the video below:

Irish singer Cosha, English record producer Karma Kid, and English producer to the stars Mura Masa all worked with the singer on the single. London-based photographer Samuel Ibram teamed up with Shygirl once again for the haunting video. He previously directed the video for Shygirl and Björk’s “Woe (I See It From Your Side)” as well as photographed Shy for the cover for Nymph.

Nymph_o, the deluxe version of Shygirl’s 2022 debut album, Nymph, will be available on streaming on the 14th of this month. The album will contain reimagines and remixes of songs on the original LP as well as some brand-new tracks like “Playboy/Positions”. So far, Shygirl has released three other songs that will feature on Nymph_o: a club mix of “Poison”, a reimagining of “Heaven” featuring the celestial vocals of alt R&B singer Tinashe, and Björk’s ethereal remix “Woe (I See It From Your Side)”. The genre-bending LP will also feature Eartheater and Arca. To preorder the album click here.

Southeast London rapper, DJ, and singer-songwriter Blane Muise, better known as Shygirl, entered the scene in 2017 receiving praise for her unique deconstructed club and experimental hip hop sound. Her debut EP Cruel Practice and her sophomore EP Alias caught the attention of Pitchfork, NME, Vogue, and Crack Magazine.

Singer-songwriter Paris Paloma has made waves with her newest single “Labour” which is currently taking TikTok by storm.

“Labour” has quickly taken off on social media, with thousands of women being inspired by and relating to the feminist anthem. The track tackles the misogyny that women face in every day life, inspiring a wealth of TikToks of women sharing their fury with “Labour” as the soundtrack.

Being compared to the work of Hozier, Paloma’s new single is a folk anthem, with its Pagan vibes conjuring images of all the women that have gone before us in societies plagued with sexism and inequality.

Paloma discussed the meaning behind the track with The Big Issue, saying, “Women are just doing more and more, and men are not doing any more than they’ve ever done. There’s still expectation for women to have this very traditional archaic role as a caregiver and a servant and a wife and a mother and a homemaker, but women have had enough of existing to serve other people.”

The ‘female rage’ label has been attributed to Paloma’s song, but she states “it doesn’t need to be romanticised,” as social media can be wont to do.

“Labour” has incited passionate responses from its listeners, and Paloma herself says she’s “not at the centre of this song anymore.”

not now honey mummy’s listen to labour by paris paloma and crying over the horrific levels of misogyny women have faced for hundreds of years

ok BUT LABOUR BY PARIS PALOMA IS THE SONG OF FEMALE RAGE AND EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW IT GOODBYE — specs (@aroamingspectre) March 23, 2023

Discussing female rage further, Paloma told The Big Issue, “It can be amazingly empowering, and I think so many women are relating to it as just this concept of just having had enough, and the refusal to be convenient anymore.”

She goes on to say, “It starts with holding men and boys accountable for this behaviour, and making it less normalised and making them sort of aware that their actions or lack thereof have consequences. You don’t get to be in a relationship and treat another person like less than a human being and then be blindsided when that person wants to end that relationship.”

Paloma says that she hasn’t experienced being “the put-upon wife but I’ve watched it happen. But I’ve seen what it does, and it’s what I think about and have thought about since I was becoming more conscious of my surroundings as a young teenage girl.”

Since its release, “Labour” has inspired over 27,000 video responses on TikTok, allowing a cathartic outlet for listeners and gracing Paris Paloma with an ever-growing platform.
