Sam Fender recently announced his new Live From Finsbury Park album. The record is due for release as a standalone double coloured vinyl on December 9 via Polydor. The collection will also be available via streaming platforms as well as part of a ‘Live Deluxe Edition’ of Fender’s second record, last year’s Seventeen Going Under.

Fender announced the news of the forthcoming LP by sharing a new video, “Getting Started (Live From Finsbury Park)”. You can watch the whole video below. The musician wrote on his social media “This show was a real highlight for me and the boys, so we’re buzzing to share it with you,”.

No track listing has been announced yet, but the 17-song set included a live debut for “Alright” and a take on “Saturday” that the crowd greatly enjoyed. The gig at Finsbury park took place on July 15, in north London and marked the North Shields singer-songwriter’s biggest headline performance to date. He played in front of a sold-out crowd of 45,000 fans at the park. Fender was joined by fantastic support acts including Fontaines D.C., Declan McKenna and Beabadoobee.

Last week Fender also announce a massive homecoming gig at Newcastle’s St James’ Park, which will mark his first-ever stadium performance as a headliner. He’ll headline St James’ Park in front of at least 55,000 fans on June 9, 2023. Fender will be joined by opening acts Inhaler and Holly Humberstone, and he’s promised “a few surprises” that are yet to be confirmed. Fender added: “I always said that if we ever got big enough to be able to play a stadium, this had to be the first one. It had to be in our hometown.” However pre-sale tickets for the June 9 date have already sold out so Fender has has added a second date at St. James’ that will take place on the following day, June 10. Tickets go on general sale at 10am BST this Friday (September 9) – you’ll be able to buy yours here.

Liam Gallagher has announced the release of a new live album later on this year, taking from a performance back in December 2020 during the height of the pandemic. Originally occurring when most live music was still shut down, Gallagher (in typical fashion) couldn’t be silenced as easily. Setting himself up in a barge and passing through the River Thames in London, he performed a number of Oasis classics alongside some of his more recent solo numbers.

And now is the chance for us all to relive it. Sixteen tracks from the performance will be released on CD, vinyl, cassette and available for streaming from May 27th via Warner Records. Oasis tracks that will feature include ”Champagne Supernova“, “Fade Away“ and “Morning Glory“. The full tracklist can be seen below.

Gallagher’s obviously very excited, as he usually is for any project with his name on it. He said “So here it is, the gig they said we could never pull off! As we were in lockdown, bored and depressed, rock ‘n’ roll came to save the day once again …. It was a top night and a top gig and it’s captured here on record for you to all enjoy.”

If you want to pre-order the new release, you can look here. But it’s not the only thing coming out from Gallagher at the moment. His third studio album, C’MON YOU KNOW, is out the same day (May 27th), and you can listen to one of the new singles “Everything’s Electric“ (co-written with Foo Fighter’s Dave Grohl) below. If you want to read more about this, you can look here.
Aside from all this, he’s even been winning some awards lately. He won at the BandLab NME Awards for Music Moment of the Year, winning for a free gig last year in London’s O2 Arena, playing for NHS workers. You can read more about this here.
