Rachel Chinouriri has officially announced her upcoming EP, Little House, set for release on Friday, April 4, via Parlophone Records / Atlas Artists. Fans can pre-order the digital version now. Alongside the announcement, she has also unveiled the project’s lead single, ‘Can We Talk About Isaac‘: a heartfelt tribute to the love and security she has found in her relationship with her boyfriend, Isaac.

The song premiered on March 5 as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record In The World, the track marks a shift in Rachel’s songwriting, capturing a sense of optimism and emotional freedom. While her critically acclaimed debut album, ‘What A Devastating Turn Of Events‘ (which recently entered UK Charts), delved into deeply personal and challenging themes, this new release embraces the excitement and joy of a flourishing romance.

Reflecting on the inspiration behind the song, Rachel shares: “I usually write from a place of trauma, but since releasing my album, I’ve been in therapy consistently, and I fell in love. Isaac makes me feel protected in a way I never have before, especially by a man. That feeling was so new to me that I wanted to embrace it and write about how much I love him. No matter what happens, the fact that he’s the first and only person to make me feel this way is incredibly special. It’s bittersweet that it took this to truly love myself, but Isaac is my hero, and I hope this fairytale never ends.” With ‘Little House’ on the horizon, Rachel Chinouriri is stepping into a new era—one filled with love, growth, and newfound happiness.

Rachel Chinouriri has officially hit the road, serving as the main support act for Sabrina Carpenter’s Short N’ Sweet arena tour across the UK and Europe. Yesterday the show finally arrived in London, where Chinouriri opened for Carpenter at the iconic London O2 Arena, with a career marking performance filled with enthusiasm and powerful, moving speeches.

Following these performances, Rachel will embark on her debut U.S. headline tour in May and June, marking a major milestone in her career. The tour will see her playing her biggest venues yet, including LA’s Fonda Theatre and New York’s Webster Hall, before culminating in a standout appearance at Bonnaroo Music + Arts Festival. Due to overwhelming demand, several venues have been upgraded and additional dates have been added, with most shows now sold out.

The exciting tour news comes hot on the heels of Rachel’s first-ever BRIT Award nominations for Artist of the Year and Best New Artist. She also recently took the stage for a powerful performance on The Graham Norton Show, further solidifying her breakout success in 2024—a year that saw the long-awaited release of her debut album, ‘What A Devastating Turn Of Events’. To celebrate the album’s upcoming first anniversary, Rachel is set to release a special white vinyl edition, available for pre-order now and set for release on May 2, 2025.

The R&B/soul boy band – Kaci Brookz, Zeekay Kabasomi, Josh Lomat and Eshan – have established themselves as one of the UK’s most refreshing acts, bringing back a classic vocal vibe that contemporary music listeners haven’t heard since the 90s. The announcement marks No Guidnce’s second EP, the follow-up to to 2023’s ‘Is It A Crime?’, and their first record since the departure of founding member Ebubé Chiana. No Guidnce shared their return to music in an Instagram post August 5, revealing Ebubé’s replacement to be emerging R&B vocalist Eshan.

Forming as a four-piece in 2021, No Guidnce have been on a mission to redefine boy bands in a post-X Factor world. Founding members Kabasomi and Brookz met on the set of Little Mix’s reality TV show The Search in 2020 before being approached by industry executives for the formation of a new boy band. Lomat and Chiana were later recruited, and thanks to a loyal TikTok fanbase where the group would showcase their vocal talent, No Guidnce rose to prominence through online hype in 2022. The band have gone onto enjoy the successes of the immense popularity of their single ‘Is It A Crime?’ (2023) from their first EP, with over 20 million Spotify streams to date.

The anticipation surrounding the upcoming EP is heightened by the release of ‘Different Ways’ on January 24, their first single of 2025, expected to appear on ‘Confessions Of A Loverboy’. Produced by Grammy-nominated beat maker Bernard ‘Harv’ Harvey, this heartfelt pop-infused track highlights a more tender and vulnerable side of No Guidnce, giving fans a taste of what’s to come in the EP. Speaking of the track, the group issued a joint statement: “This record marks a lot of firsts for us – it s our first ballad that we’ve successfully written together…We love singing this song as it gives us an opportunity to really showcase our raw voices in a new way, not heard on anything we’ve dropped before. This one feels really special to us and we hope that people connect with it like we do!” As of recent, the London-based R&B quartet have made an appearance on Apple Music’s The Rebecca Judd Show for the No Guidnce Loverboy Special February 13 to discuss the upcoming EP. The group also recently performed on DJ AG’s pop-up set in SoHo, London, surprising listeners with a live rendition of single ‘Is it A Crime?’. This latest promotion reminds fans of the soulful energy that No Guidnce bring to the table, creating great excitement for the soon-to-be released ‘Confessions Of A Loverboy’.

A new creative duo has emerged with a fresh contribution to the British electronic music scene – the ‘KINO’ EP is the two-track collaborative brainchild of DJ and producer Anish Kumar, and British-Armenian producer Hagop Tchaparian, released February 14.

The ‘KINO’ EP embodies the ‘Part I’ and ‘Part II’ format, showcasing the versatile musical approaches of Kumar & Tchaparian, as well as the finishing touches from Pearson Sound’s mixing. Both tracks compliment each other – ‘Part I’ opens up on a bouncy, rhythmic flow, incorporating rustic elements (hand drum samples and samba like snares) that slightly juxtapose the typical electronic sound, giving ‘KINO’ its distinctive vibe. Around 1:20, the track descends into a faint sombre breakdown that revives itself with the reintroduction of the hard-hitting beat, entrancing listeners and resetting the mood for what’s to follow in the EP.

Kino by Anish Kumar & Hagop Tchaparian

‘Part II’ similarly exemplifies cultural influences that create an original sound. Heavily featuring the tulum, an animal-skin bagpipe native to the Black Sea region of Turkey, the track revisits the intriguing sonic patterns heard in ‘Part I’. Reaching a satisfying crescendo at 3:20, ‘Part II’ triumphs in communicating an epiphanic feeling to listeners, stripping back the bassline for the last 30 seconds of the track which results in a fulfilling close to the 8 minute-long EP.

Debuting the studio release of ‘Part I’ on Four Tet’s Lot Radio show February 14, ‘KINO’ has been a standout feature of various warehouse venue and festival sets from the respective artists across the summer, including Tchaparian’s appearance at Poland’s OFF festival August 2. In promoting the EP, both Kumar & Tchaparian took to Instagram to share a 30 second videoclip, demonstrating the duo’s creative relationship, and the many locations that have already heard the live execution of ‘KINO’. This includes footage from 2024 UK performances at Manchester’s WareHouse Project, Glastonbury and Lost Village Festival, as well as internationally.

It should come as no surprise to listeners that Kumar & Tchaparian make such a successful innovative pairing – both the British DJs cite their South Asian and Armenian heritage respectively as having major influences on their creative processes. Initially connecting online, the duo have expressed their first project together ‘KINO’ to be the product of many months of idea swapping. In the past couple of years, Anish Kumar has made waves in the UK electro music scene, appearing in NME’s ‘The 100: essential emerging artists for 2023’. Whilst still a student at Cambridge University, his 2021 debut single ‘Little Miss Dynamite’ earned the DJ airtime on one of Annie Mac’s final BBC Radio 1 shows, a hype that Kumar has so far lived up to with the release of his well-received ‘A Mixtape’ in 2023.

Meanwhile, Hagop Tchaparian, an active musician since his days in the punk rock band Symposium, has experienced a newfound success in the techno sphere, releasing his debut album ‘Bolts’ via Text Records in 2022 to huge acclaim, demonstrating his niche in the market through Armenian and Mediterranean influences.

His introspective approach to songwriting is evident in ‘Moon Baby’, the first track on the EP and his debut single, which explores a symbiotic relationship between two individuals, weaving celestial imagery of the moon and the sun.

Valentine described it as encapsulating “the push and pull of being with someone, or wanting to be, bringing your good aspects along with theirs”. Expanding upon the song’s narrative, he reflected “the protagonist of the song is kind of this gothic character who dwells in the night, and kind of sees himself as a batman type person, protecting the other from the dangers that they don’t see, but longing for the light and positivity that they bring into their life” explored over a dark-psych groove foundation and paired with a hint of surf music.

The guitar plays a central role throughout the EP and his love for the instrument traces back to his childhood, where playing Dragonball Z as a kid exposed him to classic rock and 80s songs and sparked his passion.

Reminiscing on this, he shared, “I wouldn’t have heard them and appreciated them otherwise. I guess discovering rock music and being enamoured with getting better at playing the guitar put me on a path where I can’t see myself ever stopping really.”

Beyond his solo work, Valentine is also the lead guitarist of FEZ, a role which has greatly influenced his individual sound.

He acknowledges that playing in a group has “matured [his] ability to write arrangements” as well as aiding him in developing his guitar melodies. Emphasising the benefits of this collaborative experience, he stated that this allows him to gain a more rounded perspective and ensures that “the art doesn’t become much of an echo chamber”.

FEZ itself has evolved over time, initially rooted in psychedelic rock before incorporating elements of jazz, funk, and harder rock. For Valentine, the essence of 60s and 70s psychedelic rock lies in experimenting with new sounds and taking listeners on a journey – a vision that influences his solo work in which he aims to “facilitate that journey through a classical neo-psychedelic” lens.

As an independent artist, Valentine has complete control over the sound, production and distribution of his EP. This decision aligns with an increasingly popular direction for musicians who are stepping away from record labels including six-time Brit-winner RAYE and R&B pioneer Frank Ocean. He describes this approach as “liberating”, allowing him to craft a project that is entirely true to his artistic vision.

The upcoming release of ‘Valentine’s Day’ this Friday marks an exciting new chapter in Miles Valentine’s journey and exemplifies the creative freedom that defines today’s musical landscape. This deeply personal project blends nostalgic influences with modern storytelling, highlighting him as an artist to watch this year.

Alessi Rose blessed fans early this year with the release of her latest single, ‘Start All Over’, on January 1, 2025. The track continues to highlight her talent for blending heartfelt lyrics with a captivating alternative pop sound. As her career gains even more attention, this release marks another significant milestone in her artistic journey, showcasing her evolution as a rising star.

‘Start All Over’ is a heartfelt exploration of longing for love and second chances after getting your heart broken. The track is built around a delicate yet infectious melody and the song’s lyrics delve into the yearning to repair a broken relationship, which is expressed in the line, “You come back like it’s ritual, but when you leave it makes me miserable.” At its heart, the song portrays an internal battle over making the right decision, encapsulated in the line, “Please don’t make me start over. What if you’re the one?” Alessi’s emotive vocal delivery infuses the track with vulnerability, making it easy for listeners to connect with the raw honesty of the lyrics. The seamless blend of acoustic elements and polished pop instrumentation creates a soundscape that is both soothing and energising, further enhancing the emotional impact of the song.

The single serves as the latest preview of Alessi Rose’s upcoming EP, ‘For Your Validation’, set to be released on January 17, 2025. Building anticipation, Alessi has already shared standout tracks like ‘Oh My’ and ‘imsochillandcool’. ‘Oh My’ offers a playful, vibrant vibe with its clever, self-aware lyrics and upbeat tempo, while ‘imsochillandcool’ leans into a laid-back sound, pairing lighthearted lyrics with mellow instrumentation. Together with ‘Start All Over’, these tracks hint at an EP that promises a captivating blend of emotional depth, stylistic diversity, and Alessi’s signature alt pop sound.

‘For Your Validation’ follows her 2024 debut EP, ‘Rumination as Ritual’, which brought her widespread recognition for its genre-blurring style. Tracks like ‘Eat Me Alive’ showcased her raw, energetic side, while ‘The Pit’ presented a slower, more introspective approach, proving her ability to navigate a broad spectrum of emotions with pure authenticity.

Looking ahead, 2025 is shaping up to be a breakthrough year for Alessi Rose. Alongside the release of her new EP, she has announced an exciting UK and European tour, with stops at iconic venues such as New Century Hall in Manchester and La Botanique in Belgium. Additionally, she is set to perform at the Reading and Leeds festivals in August 2025, solidifying her reputation as a must-see act and a commanding presence in the live music scene.

The British neo-soul singer Elmiene has teased the release of his new EP ‘For The Deported’ set to be released December 6. The announcement follows an exclusive playback and Q&A on November 27 hosted at Young Space in London.

Hailing from Oxford, Abdala Elamin, known professionally as Elmiene, exhibits heartfelt and thoughtful lyricism with powerfully rich vocals that soothe the soul to provide a relatable experience to listeners. Elmiene broke ground with the release of his first single ‘Golden’ in 2021, which established a momentum to his acclaim, sending him to the forefront of modern neo-soul and R&B. Since then, Elmiene has released three EPs: ‘EL-MEAN’, ‘Marking My Time’ and ‘Anyway I Can’ where the ‘Light Work’ singer has sonically developed into a prominent neo-soul artist due to his portrayal of intensely poetic sentiments – relating to his personal experiences.

The announcement of Elmiene’s forthcoming ‘For The Deported’ EP coincided with BRITs unveiling their Rising Star nominees for the 2025 ceremony, which Elmiene made the shortlist for. A prestigious award won previously by The Last Dinner Party in 2024. The winner of the Rising Star Award will be announced December 5, the eve of Elmiene’s EP release.

The upcoming EP was revealed via Elmiene’s social media, where he released a stripped back performance of one of its tracks titled ‘The Deported’. In the video, Elmiene is seen in front of a red backdrop playing the keyboard whilst showcasing his vocal talent which although remains soulful, displays a softer side to portray a profound moment of desperation and sincerity – which is especially emphasised through the reiteration of “mother hold me”.

To accompany the post that teased the EP, Elmiene took to social media to describe the meaning of the EP, stating: “Sudan is the reason I’m here right now. Sudan is the reason I feel like I am as musical as I am or why I was so inclined to do poetry. Sudan is a country with a lot of history and tragedy and emotions and feelings and a really, really deep cultural history. I feel like there’s nothing like the words that we used to describe those complex things”.

With the ongoing escalation of conflict in Sudan, which has led to mass displacement and a dire socio-economic crises, Elmiene’s EP comes at an all-important time to raise awareness to the vital humanitarian aid needed in Sudan, during a time when global governments are failing to give adequate attention to the conflict and the thousands of people in need.

The ‘Someday’ performer does not shy away from deeply thought-provoking sentiments throughout his discography. In a conversation with Rolling Stone UK last year, the singer revealed his desire of candid lyricism and sonic themes and how they emerged from his passion for classic soul. He stated, this era of music featured musicians “speak[ing] about the unspoken and the unseen, in a way that’s tangible and so eloquent”, meaning it is somewhat inevitable for Elmiene to portray such themes throughout his discography and within ‘For The Deported’.

Elmiene’s ‘For The Deported’ will be released on December 6 and will mark the singer’s fourth EP which will further cement his artistry in the forefront of R&B and neo-soul.

Not even six months after the release of 66, Paul Weller, who gained acclaim for his contributions to The Jam, The Style Council and Band Aid, announces a new four-track EP to be released on October 18.

The EP titled Supplement: 66 is a nod to his most recent album 66, acting as a stylistic continuation of the previous record, as Weller continues to portray an artistic flair whilst reminiscing on his sixty-six years of life, embracing his past whilst acknowledging the necessity for his continued growth as an artist and as an individual. Supplement: 66 embodies the sonic progression of a man that has arguably done it all within his career of more than five decades.

Supplement: 66 Tracklist:

That’s What She Said

Change What You Can

Earth In Our Feet

So Quietly

The ‘You Do Something To Me’ musician recorded Supplement: 66 at his own Black Barn Studios, having a prominent role in producing all of the tracks. The EP also features original The Jam member Steve Brookes on guitar alongside Max Beesley on vibraphone, Danny Thompson on double bass and the vocals of folk musician Kathryn Williams on ‘So Quietly’, who co-wrote the track with Weller.

Supplement: 66 will be available digitally from its release date as well as in a classic black LP.

Weller, who was first known for being in The Jam and The Style Council, has since got sixteen studio albums, five live albums, thirty-nine singles and three EPs under his belt. Despite Weller’s experimentation with sonic shifts throughout his career, it is evident the announcement and release of Supplement: 66 will aim to further polish Weller’s artistry and continually prove his talents to fans.

The social media post from Paul Weller HQ which accompanied the announcement referred to the EP as being a part of Weller’s “new explorations”. This ideal is prevalent throughout the newly released lyric video visual for ‘Change What You Can’. The video is shot in a nostalgic VHS-style format features various clips of nature. In essence, this visual portrays a hopefulness – a theme that Weller has not shied away from during this career. Whether it is political hopefulness in The Style Council’s ‘Walls Come Tumbling Down’ and The Jam’s ‘Going Underground’ or hopefulness for change in Weller’s ‘The Changing Man’, Weller’s hopefulness in ‘Change What You Can’ surrounds his new explorations at sixty-six and his desire to further develop his artistry.

Supplement: 66 will be released just in time for fans awaiting to see Weller during his autumn UK tour this year. With the tour dedicated to his recent album 66, there is high potential that Weller will perform tracks from Supplement: 66 given its evident sonic continuation of 66.

With a career that spans over five decades, Weller continues to stun listeners with his presentness in the industry and his continued authenticity and relatable content. The release of Supplement: 66 will therefore commemorate Weller’s legendary career thus far, and his introspective efforts presenting himself as ‘The Changing Man’.

The Gaslight Anthem are releasing a new EP!

After announcing an indefinite hiatus in 2015, only to return with a new album last year (2023), this will come as welcome news to Gaslight fans everywhere.

The new EP History Books – Short Stories will feature a Billie Eilish and then they will hit the road all across North America with Joyce Manor, Pinkshift and The Dirty Nil.

After a recent tease suggesting that they had been back in the studio following last year’s ‘History Books’, the Gaslight Anthem have just announced a brand-new EP.

The band will be releasing the four-track History Books – Short Stories this Friday, and it’ll feature two singles from that LP (the title-track and Positive Charge), plus a re-recorded version of 2008 fan-favourite Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts, and a surprise cover of Ocean Eyes by Billie Eilish.

“I was driving my daughter to school and she played it for me on the way and I really took to the song,” explains frontman Brian Fallon of the latter. “Then one day we were talking ideas for a cover with our friends and I said, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool to do a heavier version of Ocean Eyes?’ I tried it out and everybody loved the idea.”

Check out a snippet below:

That’s not all, folks! We’re celebrating going on tour by releasing History Books – Short Stories. Out Friday + features two acoustic songs (“History Books” & “Positive Charge”), a re-recorded version of “Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts,” and a cover of “Ocean Eyes” by @billieeilish. pic.twitter.com/5eurAcF5D4

If that wasn’t enough, The Gaslight Anthem have also announced that they will be back on tour this summer in North America with a pretty stacked line-up.

The Gaslight Anthem was formed in 2006 in New Brunswick, New Jersey and has constantly delivered its brand of heartfelt folk-inspired punk rock since its debut album, Sink or Swim, in 2007. They gained a substantial global following and released four more studio records, the most recent being ‘Get Hurt’ in 2014. The following year, the band announced they would be going on hiatus as they focused on other projects, reuniting briefly in 2018 for a run of anniversary shows and then resuming the break.

In 2022, the band ended their hiatus and reformed, dropping their sixth studio album ‘History Books‘ the following year.

But as for the hear and now, you can catch them here at the following UK tour dates:

Cassia is composed of vocalist Rob Ellis, bassist Lou Cotterill, and drummer Jacob Leff. Collectively, the group have cited World Music as a shared inspiration, with frontman Ellis saying: “Speaking personally I think the thing that interests me the most is the unpredictability of the music.
