<p><script src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" async="" charset="utf-8"></script><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Despite recent anti LGBTQ+ legislation in Hungary, organisers defend the decision to host them in that country. </span> <span data-preserver-spaces="true">The biggest winners of the night were K-Pop group BTS snatching four awards in total: Best Pop, Best Group, Bst K-Pop and Biggest Fans. </span> <span data-preserver-spaces="true">Ed Sheeran has won two awards, for Best Artist and Best Song for &#8220;Bad Habits&#8221;. Best Alternative went to Yungblud, who said in a speech: &#8220;<em>If you are out there and you feel you cannot be who you are – you can be. Keep fighting, keep being brilliant&#8221;</em>. </span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Eurovision winners Måneskin won a statue for Best Rock. Little Mix has won an award for Best UK &amp; Ireland Act for the fifth time. This year they run up against Ed Sheeran and Dua Lipa. The Best US Act went to Taylor Swift. Little Mix </span>Jade Thirwall <a href="https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/emas-winners-little-mix-ed-sheeran-b1957746.html" target="_blank">said</a> accepting the award remotely: “<em>Thank you so, so much. This is amazing, to win Best UK &amp; Ireland Act again. Thank you, thank you, thank you – we can’t believe it.</em>”</p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">“<em>We’re so gutted that we can’t be at the show tonight, but thank you so much to MTV and all of our incredible, incredible fans for their support. It really does mean the world to myself and the girls</em>&#8221; she added.</span></p>
<p><span data-preserver-spaces="true">Show host and performer Saweetie has won Best New, Nicki Minaj won Best Hip-Hop and Olivia Rodrigo &#8211; Best Push and Billie Eilish was honoured with the Video for Good award. Justin Bieber who has been nominated in eight categories hasn&#8217;t won any this year.</span> <span data-preserver-spaces="true">The MTV EMAs saw performances from Ed Sheeran who sang &#8220;Overpass Grafitti&#8221; and &#8220;Shivers&#8221;, Maluma who did &#8220;Mama Tetema&#8217; and Saweetie with &#8220;Best Friend&#8221;, &#8220;Tap In&#8221; &#8216; and &#8220;Out Out&#8221; among others. Yungblud closed the night with the performance of his latest single &#8220;Fleabag&#8221;. </span></p>

The 2019 MTV EMAs are set to take place on November, Sunday 3 in Seville. There will be performances from Dua Lipa, Akon and Halsey.</p>
<p>Green Day are scheduled to headline the MTV World Stage Seville in the city&#8217;s Plaza de Espanña the day before. Becky G will host the awards show.</p>
<p>Not only is Liam the nominee for the Rock Icon Award, he will also perform a set. The <a href="https://www.nme.com/reviews/album/liam-gallagher-why-me-why-not-review">&#8216;Why Me?, Why Not&#8217;</a> singer will perform one of his original solo tracks and an Oasis one. Liam posted the news to his <a href="https://twitter.com/liamgallagher?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1189506919658119168&amp;ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mxdwn.co.uk%2Fwp-admin%2Fpost.php%3Fpost%3D13412%26action%3Dedit%26message%3D10">Twitter</a> about the event, with MTV captioning their own post, <em>&#8220;The legendary @liamgallagher is our 2019 Rock Icon!&#8221; </em></p>

Liam said, <em>“Yeah. The next one is going to be called ‘Come On You Know’, pure positive.” </em></p>
<p><em>“As soon as I get the titles man, we are off.&#8221;</em></p>
<p><a href="https://www.nme.com/news/music/listen-liam-gallaghers-biblical-isolated-vocals-supersonic-glastonbury-1995-2558161">Isolated vocals from Liam Gallagher lifted from the classic Oasis hit &#8216;Supersonic&#8217; were recently released online</a>. The vocals come from Oasis&#8217;s headline show at Glastonbury 1995. Described as <em>&#8220;biblical&#8221;</em>, and <em>&#8220;historical&#8221;</em>, the video on Youtube was edited together by Oasis fan site user Maxi Gonzales.</p>
