Mist drops new single ‘Rollin’ with African giant Burna Boy with production from midlands DJ and producer Toddla T.

The high energy video was shot in Nigeria and features BMX riders from the Lagos BMX crew as well as UK BMX rider Ryan Taylor.

Mist has made a name for himself as one of the best when it comes to visuals and he didn’t disappoint on his latest release. Whether it’s Costa Rica as seen with his video for ‘So high’ featuring Fredo, Dubai for ‘Aint the same’ or Nigeria for ‘Rollin’ Mist always makes sure his visuals are kept to the same high standard as the music he puts out.

The Birmingham rapper burst onto the scene in 2015 with his ‘p110 freestyle’ that currently sits on 18 million views, before releasing his single ‘Khalas back’ with regular collaborator Steel Banglez in 2016 a song that has 16 million views and allowed for the now 29-year-old to cement himself in the UK scene as one of the most entertaining rappers.

The rapper didn’t take his foot off the gas following his success and continued gifting fans with continuous bangers alongside videos that kept the viewer’s eyes glued to the screen. His success since 2016 has seen him have 1 UK top 10 and 5 top 40s.

Collaborator Burna Boy is one of the biggest African stars in global music having won the Grammy Award for Best Global Music Album in 2020 and 2021. The self-proclaimed African Giant has had a quiet 2021 only releasing one solo single, but after the success he has had in the last two years it could be seen as the Nigerian superstar taking his time out to bask in his accomplishments.

Birmingham rapper Mist, has been shot, during a suspected armed robbery, in Portugal. Mist, whose real name is Rhys Thomas Sylvester, was in a luxury villa, in Quint do Lago, in Portugal, when the robbery occurred, at approximately 10pm (local time), on Tuesday the 27th of August 2019.

The 27-year-old MOBO-award winning artist, whose real name is Rhys Thomas Sylvester, was in a luxury villa, in Quint do Lago, Portugal, when burglars are believed to have broken in and taken his passport, jewellery and mobile phones. Mist has been rushed to the hospital, by two friends, after being shot in the leg when burglars broke into a luxury villa, in the Algarve, at the Quinta do Lago resort, at 10pm last night (August 27).

According to Metro the thieves allegedly took Mist’s passport, phones and jewellery. The Birmingham-born rapper was driven to Faro Hospital, in Portugal, by two friends – who told police that two or three men with an Irish accent committed the alleged robbery, at the rented villa.

As of this moment there has been no further update on Mist’s condition, but there are reports that he may have already left hospital today. It is not confirmed whether or not he discharged himself. Mist was in Portugal after performing at the Afro Nation Festival, in Praia da Roche, at the beginning of August.

The MOBO-winning rapper, began his career in music, in 2015, after serving 14 month for dangerous driving – following a police chase on the M6 after he was caught driving without a licence. However, he soon left his past behind him, carving a name for himself in the industry working alongside the likes of Jessie Ware, MoStack, Nines and Not3s. The rapper found further success, this year, with the release of Fredo collaboration ‘So High’.

The news comes after the rapper released his latest album, ‘Diamond in the Dirt’, back in February 2018. The album reached number five on the UK Albums Chart, with three songs from the EP appearing in the Singles Chart. In 2017, he won a MOBO Award for Best Video for his hit single ‘Hot Property’.

Birmingham rapper Mist enlists West London’s Fredo for his new track ‘So High.’ The upbeat vibe with classic piano riffs makes this instrumental a perfect summer hit. The video is currently on YouTube’s top trending chart so this banger is bound to receive positive critical reception.

The jumpy beat samples Toni Braxton’s 90’s single, ‘You’re Makin’ Me High’ and allows Fredo to own the chorus exhibiting his melodic vibes. Both rappers are well known for their creative, cinematic style videos with Mist especially known for his destination shoots. Therefore, it was only right for the two trap rappers to head to Costa Rica for a fictional drug deal gone wrong scenario, resulting in a high-speed chase through the exotic jungle.

After signing with Warner Bros. Records in 2016 and creating his own imprint, Sickmade Ent. Mist has been putting Birmingham on the map ever since. His unique flow and raw delivery, along with frequent Steel Banglez production managed to shape a new sound in British hip-hop. The successful release of his second EP, Diamond In The Dirt in 2018 received positive feedback, peaking at #4 in the U.K Albums Chart with three singles hitting the top 100 on the U.K Singles Chart.

Make sure to catch Mist performing live this summer at the following festivals:

12/07/2019 – TRNSMT Festival – Glasgow

02/08/2019 – Afro Nation Festival – Portimão, Portugal

You can watch the video to ‘So High’ below.
