Birmingham-born grindcore pioneers Napalm Death have released a visualiser for their new track “Resentment Is Always Seismic (Dark Sky Burial Dirge)”, which is taken from their mini-album Resentment Is Always Seismic- a final throw of throes, released on the 11th of February via Century Media Records. You can view the video down below, and you can find the new record via all streaming services.

Echoing its namesake, this hellish, slow burning tune is most definitely a dirge, defined by moments of crushing, metallic heaviness, punctuated by spine-chilling silences that feel like an icy wind rushing up from a great vacuous pit. Vocalist Barney Greenway howls over the grinding instrumental: “Wield your resentment, resentment always simmers.”

Greenway said of the mini-album, according to a press release: “You can certainly consider “Resentment Is Always…” as an extension of – or partner recording to – the “Throes…” album. We had long since wanted to put a mini-album out – in the spirit of the old days – and found we had enough quality tracks even after all the “Throes…” bonus tracks to do that. Hopefully this mini holds some nice twists in its own right for people, and certainly covering “People Pie” by Slab! made us really stretch ourselves, which feels great artistically. In the end, resentment is certainly seismic – it can trigger the complete erosion of humanity in many situations. That was the point that I really wanted to hammer home overall.”

Resentment Is Always Seismic will be available on 12” vinyl and can be purchased here. The vinyl version will be issued in the following variations:

Silver LP – 300x copies via EMP

Transp. Green LP – 500x copies via Napalm Death
The mini-album clocks in at just under thirty minutes, and features two covers. The full track list can be viewed down below.

The pop singer-songwriter chatted to Saunders about her music (and more) as well as performing two of her original songs.

Kicking things off with an exclusive interview, GRACEY spoke about her career, which began with her writing songs for other artists. She said, “I basically wanted to wait until I knew what I wanted to say, and the exact music I wanted to put out. It took until last year putting out my first single until I knew I was ready – it happened organically.”

Her first acoustic track of the evening was ‘Like That’, a stripped back version of the single including acoustic guitar and percussion to liven up the set. Originally released in August, the song features fellow artist Alexander23. GRACEY followed this up with her latest release ‘Don’t’, released in October as an electro-pop song which was compared by Saunders to the music of Charli XCX. The songwriter herself said that she loves up-tempo sad songs, and that “it is lyrically sad but it is, to me, very empowering and very strong. It’s everything I should have said.”

To bring the session to a close, she mentioned a few of her favourite artists and influences, which included Imogen Heap and Francis and the Lights. Coming this Friday 13th November is GRACEY’s mini album ‘The Art of Closure’, which will be her longest release to date. Sharing her first single just last year, GRACEY made her breakthrough in 2020 with the single ‘Don’t Need Love’ in collaboration with 220 Kid as it reached number 9 on the UK Singles Chart. Prior to this she had written songs for artists such as Sub Focus, Lorde, and Kylie Minogue, and now she has built her own fanbase and career as an artist.
