However, after a police search of his vehicle, Cephus was arrested, after the alleged discovery of at least one weapon in his vehicle, as well as a small quantity of marijuana.

TMZ has also reported that the rapper has now been charged with two felonies: Possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession of a weapon during a crime. He is also believed to have been charged with two misdemeanours in possession of marijuana, and an improper lane change.

This is not offset-or indeed any of Migos’- first run-ins with the law. Back in 2013, all three members of the trio were charged with carrying a loaded gun on school property at Georgia Southern University.

This arrest comes just ten days removed from the birth of Offset’s daughter Kulture, whom he had with his wife, and fellow breakout rap superstar Cardi B. The pair married in secret in October 2017, after footage emerged of Offset proposing to Cardi onstage.

Offset was released the day after arrest after posting the $17,000 bail. There is no news yet of when he is due to appear in court.

In a piece by the New York Times, profiling Atlanta based hip-hop, and in particular Migos’ label Quality Control, it was revealed that the sequel to January’s Culture, will be arriving in the early stages of 2018. The trio dropped Culture 2‘s first song ‘Motorsport’ recently, featuring Nicki Minaj, and fellow breakthrough artists Cardi B- Who also recently got engaged to Migos member Offset.

Culture turned Migos into megastars, with lead single ‘Bad & Boujee’ topping charts worldwide, as well as becoming a viral hit in the process. Shifting over 131,000 units in it’s first week alone, Culture swiftly topped the Billboard 200, and the group clearly want to capitalise on this current surge in heavily-produced, ad-libbed, hip-hop, by following up with another album within a year of their last.

Quavo- who has been ubiquitous in his features on other hip-hop tracks throughout 2017- shared muted studio footage back in October, which showed studio sessions featuring the likes of Chance The Rapper and Donald Glover apparently recording with the group.

The NY Times’ piece also revealed that fellow Atlanta native Lil Yachty will also be releasing a sequel in the coming months. The Lil Boat 2 mixtape is apparently due in late December, as the young rapper looks to bounce back from the widespread critical shellacking his last album Teenage Emotions received.

Earlier in the year, Harris had tweeted that he had “worked with the greatest artists of our generation !!!” on the LP, and today the full, extensive list of artists has been revealed.

Music fans will have been unable to escape the album’s first track ‘Slide’, featuring Frank Ocean and Migos, as well as ‘Heatstroke’ With Young Thug, Pharrell, and Ariana Grande. Now, a new single has been teased along with the album’s announcement, which appears to feature Future and Khalid.

The rest of the album’s features include Travis Scott, Kehlani Katy Perry, Big Sean, John Legend, Schoolboy Q, D.R.A.M., Nicki Minaj, Lil Yachty, Jessie Reyez, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Snoop Dogg, in what is quite possibly the most guest-laden album of recent years.

There has been no confirmation as of yet as to whether there will be a Funk Wav Bounces Vol.2, or indeed if there is a Funk Wav Bounce anthology in the works, but the hype is already building, as Calvin Harris continues his one man mission to dominate the airwaves for the summer.
