Following the success of Big Shaq’s tracks ‘Mans Not Hot’ and ‘Man Don’t Dance’ played by Michael Dapaah, he has released the highly anticipated second season of his #SWIL web-series. An acronym for Somewhere In London, the mockumentary follows the lives of several hilarious characters all played by the young comedian from Croydon which, if residing in London you’ll definitely be familiar with.

In this series, we are reintroduced to Dr. Ofori, a part-time councillor/part-time taxi driver, Patrick, an ambitious community support officer and of course the legendary Big Shaq, the emphatic roadman rapper. In addition to the characters from the previous series, we are also introduced to Damien Johnson, an aspiring American actor trying to find his break in Los Angeles by any means necessary.

With Big Shaq providing another quick freestyle at a BBQ cookout scene we can certainly expect to hear new music from Michael Dapaah’s alter ego soon. In 2017 the parody track ‘Mans Not Hot’ reached #3 on the U.K Singles Chart, after quickly becoming a viral hit this garnered the attention of viewers worldwide which caught the attention of New York hip-hop radio show, The Breakfast Club. To their surprise, he attended the interview as Michael Dapaah in an attempt to distance himself from being associated solely with his Big Shaq character, which undermines his talent as a whole and clear up any misconception that he’s a career rapper.

#SWIL2 is already on YouTube’s trending charts with over 500,000 views and sets the tone for the future of Michael Dapaah’s comedy and music career.
