End of The Road Festival (EOTR) has announced a huge next wave of artists for their 20th Annniversary Line up. Joining the 2026 headliners CMAT, PULP and Mac DeMarco (plus a secret headliner) are a myriad of unique artists across a range of genres, making this year’s edition set to deliver one of the most eclectic and joyful weekends in the UK festival calendar. For regulars and first-timers alike, it feels like a carefully curated love letter to everything that makes independent music culture so vital.

Among the newly announced acts are Super Furry Animals, the beloved Welsh indie-pop innovators whose kaleidoscopic catalogue continues to influence generations. Their long-awaited return to the stage, and to EOTR, bridges nostalgia and reinvention, making them a perfect fit for an anniversary celebration of this scale. Another returning favourite, Kurt Vile, brings his unmistakable brand of hazy, psych-tinged indie rock back to the Larmer Tree Gardens. Known for his meandering guitar lines and laid-back vocals, Vile’s set is likely to be a dreamy late-summer highlight.

Injecting a burst of chaotic energy into the lineup are Fat Dog, one of the most talked-about new bands in the UK underground scene. Their genre-blurring mix of techno, rock, and experimental noise, which they’ve called “scream-into-pillow music” has earned them a devoted following for their unpredictable live shows. Expect mosh pits, sweat, and a sense of total abandon when they take the stage, the kind of set people talk about for years afterwards.

Other artists include the revered songwriter Lucinda Williams and psych-rock workhorse Ty Segall bring heavyweight live reputations to Larmer Tree Gardens. Elsewhere, celebrated vocalist and composer Beverly Glenn-Copeland appears with Elizabeth Copeland, alongside the widescreen post-rock and folk textures of caroline, the shadowy intensity of Just Mustard, the experimental electronics of james K, and the visceral noise-rap of YHWH Nailgun. It’s a bill that invites you to explore, stumble across new favourites, and stay out later than you planned.

What truly makes EOTR unmissable is its mix of genres and celebration of difference- the way folk minimalists bump shoulders with avant-garde jazz players, the way you can wander from a raucous late-night set to a quiet forest performance. The festival consistently gives space to rising stars and niche artists who later become household names, proving that its curators still have their finger firmly on the pulse of what’s next in music. It’s the sort of weekend where every slot on the timetable feels like a potential discovery.

A fourth mystery headliner is yet to be revealed, keeping fans eagerly speculating. Whether it’s a legendary reunion, a beloved cult act, or an unexpected newcomer, the surprise promises to be worth the wait and only adds to the sense of anticipation building around this year’s event. The festival will take place at Larmer Tree Gardens between September 3 and September 6.

The UK leg of the tour will begin on 8 November in Birmingham, before shows in Brighton, London, Cambridge, Bristol and Manchester. Outside of the UK, DeMarco will kick off the tour with 13 dates in the States, starting on 29 August in Los Angeles. He will then travel to Europe and begin a run of 11 shows, starting in Amsterdam on 21 October, before visiting the UK. Following the last show in Manchester, the ‘Ode to Viceroy’ singer will hop across the Irish Sea for two shows in Dublin on 17 and 18 November. The last leg of the tour will see DeMarco play across Canada, ending the tour near his hometown on 19 December in Victoria, BC.

UK fans of the self-styled ‘jizz-jazz’ musician have found shows hard to come by in the 2020’s, with his only three shows this decade coming in 2023, when he held a three-night residency at Hackney Empire. Before then, he played 19 shows in the UK in 2019, including a Glastonbury set. The increased capacity of the recently announced venues compared to the Hackney Empire seems to indicate an expectation that the shows will face high demand from fans who haven’t seen him for nearly five years.

With the upcoming album shrouded in mystery, fans are left to wonder which DeMarco we will get. His most recent releases show a continued shift towards stripped-back, minimalistic music, but he is still the artist that gave us some of the most iconic alternative songs of the 2010s, including ‘Chamber of Reflection’, ‘Freaking Out the Neighbourhood’, and ‘My Kind of Woman’. The only certainty is to expect the unexpected.

The announcement video on his Instagram page, @macsrecordlabel, was typical of the musician, who has become known for his surreal humour. Mac uploaded a video of himself contorting his face into something difficult to put into words, before showing two short posters for tour dates. He simply captioned the post “Going on tour. Album out in August. C U THERE. tickets in bio.” No support acts have been revealed as of yet, but with almost six months to go, there’s plenty of time for announcements to be made.

Currently ranked as the 385th most popular artist on Spotify, tickets for Mac DeMarco are expected to sell out fast, especially outside of London. Even with his upcoming album, Mac always revisits his back catalogue, meaning fans can rest assured that he will play all of his biggest hits.

Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty is taking his experimental fourth studio album Let’s Start Here global with his The Field Trip tour this winter. The 39-stop tour features 12 dates in Europe and 4 in the UK. And no, he won’t be stopping in “Poland”.

Miles Parks McCollum, aka Lil Boat, aka Lil Yachty, will travel through the US starting the first leg of the tour in Washington in late September and ending in Detroit in early November. He will jet off to Europe starting with Oslo in late November concluding the tour in mid-December in Vienna.

Yachty will be visiting Manchester, London, Glasgow, and Birmingham during the second leg of his tour. On the 30th November he will visit the O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester. The following evening he will play the UK’s capital at the OVO Wembley Arena. Yachty will visit Scotland on the 3rd December performing at the O2 Academy in Glasgow. His final UK date will be in Birmingham’s O2 Academy on the 4th December.

The charismatic rapper shared the tour poster to his Instagram with the caption “Tickets are now on pre-sale at fieldtriptour.com finally. The link is in my bio.. gooooooooooo, it’s been a long time”.

General sale for tickets begins on Friday the 12th May at 12 PM BST. Tickets are now available on pre-sale. To purchase and for more information see here.

The newly psychedelically inspired artist will also be popping up at a couple of festivals this summer in the UK and Europe including Ruissalo in Turku and Wireless in London.

On Let’s Start Here, released in January, Yachty abandoned the mumble rap trap persona he was notorious for in favour of a more mature kaleidoscopic soundscape of R&B and neo-soul with echoey guitar riffs and autotuned vocals. His experimentations paid off and the record has fast become a fan favourite and achieved Yachty the highest critical praise in his career.

Watch the video for “sAy sOMETHINg” below:

Yachty dipped his toes into neo-psychedelia with help from a bunch of industry heavyweights such as slacker rock extraordinaire Alex G, beloved indie rocker Mac Demarco, the electropop duo Magdalena Bay, MGMT’s Ben Goldwasser, and Chairlift’s Patrick Wimberley who all played a part in bringing Let’s Start Here together.

“This album is so special and dear to me. I think I created it just because I really wanted to be taken seriously as an artist,” Yachty told the crowd gathered at the album release party in New Jersey. “Not just some SoundCloud rapper. Not just some mumble rapper. Not just some guy who made one hit. I wanted to be taken serious because music is everything to me. I respect all walks of music, not just rap and hip hop. Everything.” Watch more of his speech below:

Canadian singer-songwriter Mac Demarco has announced that he will set off on a ten-date world tour this summer in support of his latest album Five Easy Hot Dogs. The tour will include three shows in Paris and London respectively.

Commencing the tour in mid-July, Mac will play in LA (his first tour show since 2022) before playing three consecutive dates at Webster Hall in New York. He will then travel to Paris to play at Cabaret Sauvage for three shows and end the tour with a three-date residency at Hackney Empire, London.

Sharing the announcement on his Facebook Mac wrote that the tour “Should be nice, should be different, hopefully, it will be special. Hope to see you there”.

Mac dropped his fifth studio album Five Easy Hot Dogs on the 20th January. Though, unlike his previous albums, it’s comprised of instrumental numbers Mac’s laidback and mellow signature style is still present. It received generally positive reviews from critics.

In true chilled-out drifter attitude, Mac had no set plan when recording the record instead taking inspiration from his time on the road. “The plan was to start driving north, and not go home to Los Angeles until I was done with a record,” said Mac in a press release. “Kind of like being on tour, except there weren’t any shows, and I’d just be burning money.”

He expanded to say that the people he met shaped the album: “Some places I stayed longer in than others, some of them I knew from the past, others not so much. I tried to keep things busy all the time. If I didn’t know what was up in a city, I’d just walk around ‘til someone recognized me and go from there. I met a lot of interesting people this way, and had a bunch of cool experiences.”

Watch the accompanying visuals to the album below:

The slacker-rock icon is adored by Gen Z for his viral TikTok hits such as “Heart to Heart” and “Chamber of Reflection”. MacBriare Samuel Lanyon DeMarco first began recording as a solo artist in 2011 after moving to Montreal. His second album, Salad Days, peaked at number 30 on the US Billboard 200 and 90 on the UK Album Charts and from there, Mac’s fame has only risen.

Last weekend was a busy time for Mac with the singer clambering onto the Coachella stage not once but twice to the surprise and delight of attendees. The Garden brought out the singer to add their chaotic performance on the 14th April. DeMarco and iconic bassist and vocalist Thundercat also joined the Jazz duo DOMi and JD BECK on the same day.

Mac DeMarco has released a new song entitled ‘All of Our Yesterdays’ ahead of the release of his fourth studio album, ‘Here Comes The Cowboy’. The Canadian indie rock soloist debuted the song on Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio station where Zane Lowe named it today’s world record.

It is the album’s second single after ‘Nobody’ which was released along with the album announcement back in early March. ‘Here Comes The Cowboy’ is set to be the first release on DeMarco’s own independent label, Mac’s Record Label.

Mac had this to say of the new single, “This was the first song I wrote in the sequence of songs that appear on my new record. Most of the rest of the songs were written in November [2018] right before we went on tour in Europe, but this one’s probably from about seven or eight months before that. I left it sitting with only one verse done for a long time, then finished it up while I was writing the rest of the record.”

“The phrase ‘all of our yesterdays’ comes from the play Macbeth. Also I think there’s a Star Trek episode from 1969 with the same title; very cool. I had just seen a documentary about Oasis before writing this song, and I was trying to write a gigantic rock and roll hit with my renewed love for the band. I didn’t really get close to that at all, but I’m happy with the song that came out hahahahaha.”

As well as the release of the single, Mac also announced numerous European dates for his tour in support of the album. His extensive worldwide tour begins this month in Los Angeles, with multiple UK gigs and festival appearances as well as Mac’s own festival ‘Mac Demarco… Will See You Now’ taking place at Dreamland in Margate this summer.

‘Here Comes The Cowboy’ will be released on May 10th via Mac’s Record Label. DeMarco’s UK tour dates are listed below.

02/06/19 – All Points East Festival – London

26/6 – Kelvingrove Bandstand (with Romeo Taylor + Amyl & The Sniffers) – Glasgow

27/6 – Halifax Piece Hall (with Working Mens Club + Amyl & The Sniffers + Yellow Days) – Halifax

29/6 – ‘Mac Demarco… Will See You Now” @ Dreamland – Margate

Mac DeMarco has announced the release of his fourth studio album, ‘Here Comes the Cowboy‘. The album is due to be released on the 10th May this year on Mac’s Records Label, DeMarco’s new independent record company.

Speculation around the follow-up to 2017’s ‘This Old Dog‘ began when pictures of posters that contained details of the new album and its release date were found on Reddit. DeMarco later confirmed the release of his new album on his website. He has also released a new spaced out single taken from the album called ‘Nobody‘. The lead single also came with a memorable new music video, which sees Mac in heavy lizard makeup and a cowboy hat while singing the song.

Mac has said this to say of the new album on his website, “This one is my cowboy record. Cowboy is a term of endearment to me, I use it often when referring to people in my life. The rusty old grinning pin on the front and back covers of the record was purchased from a man in the mountains somewhere in the Nantahala National Forest between Chattanooga, TN and Asheville, NC. Where I grew up there are many people that sincerely wear cowboy hats and do cowboy activities, these aren’t the people I’m referring to. Before realizing that your surroundings don’t necessarily define who you are, I felt very uncomfortable in the company of that culture.”

This reveal came soon after Mac announced his own one-day festival that would be taking place at the Dreamland theme park in Margate, Kent. DeMarco is the headlining act of ‘Mac DeMarco… will see you now‘ and will also be curating the yet unreleased line-up of the event. The event is in partnership with London promoters Bird On The Wire, with whom DeMarco has collaborated many times. Fans are promised, “a day of music and rides”, in the English seaside town. This is not DeMarco’s only UK show in 2019 though, as he is also booked to play at All Points East festival on Sunday, June 2nd in east London.

Mac has drawn criticism from fans of singer-songwriter Mitski as his new album sounds similar to Mitski’s most recent release ‘Be The Cowboy‘ in 2018. ‘Nobody‘ is also a name of one of Mitski’s singles, which has drawn further criticism from fans. However, in response to the criticism, Mitski herself had this to say on Twitter, “haha! I’m 100% sure mac & I just went fishing in the same part of the collective unconscious! What’s wild is we have the same PR, so I LOVE my personal conspiracy theory that she heard the album+track titles but kept quiet thinking maybe some Mac fans will mistakenly find me loll. Anyway thanks for the laugh, Mac! Happy release!”.

Tickets for Mac’s Margate gig can be purchased here this Friday.

The update came last night on December 27th, and follows a number of studio photos, featuring De Marco in various contrived poses, posted on the account. DeMarco wrote, ‘#that’s a #wrap. Just finished #Mixin the new #disc. Time for some #champers.’ In the background, a track from the record can be heard, to judge by this limited sample the new work seems to be fairly typical DeMarco fare. Given the fact that DeMarco’s last output was a mini album in the form of 2015’s Another One and the ambiguous use of the word ‘disc’, it very much remains to be seen whether this will be a full length release from the Canadian. In an interview with Spin earlier in the year, DeMarco used the word ‘record’ to describe the work, denying rumours he was collaborating with neighbour, Andrew VanWyngarden of MGMT, instead confirming he was making ‘just my own record.’ However, at that time he didn’t even sound fully confident this day would come, saying nonchalantly, ‘I haven’t finished it, not sure if I will, but I’ll put it on the shelf for now.’ His last full length effort, the acclaimed ‘Salad Days’ was released in 2014.

We don’t yet know the name of this latest ‘disc’ and have no official release date, although with a completed recording, it should presumably be reasonably soon. Adding fuel to this speculation is the fact that DeMarco has already signed on to play various festivals next year; he will be on the bill for three festivals in America, another three in Europe, including Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona, and two nights at the O2 Brixton Academy in London. Presumably he would love to have a new record to liven up his setlist for these Spring and Summer gigs.

DeMarco’s latest work was a pair of covers, for which he partnered with keyboardist Jon Lent. The pair recorded their own versions of James Taylor’s ‘I Was a Fool to Care,’ and Prince’s ‘It’s Gonna Be Lonely.’ According to Spin DeMarco paid tribute to Prince’s influence on his career at a gig in Brooklyn’s Webster Hall, telling the crowd, ‘We just started touring, but the person who made me want to do this in the first place is Prince.’ He also opened up to Spin about his inspirations when writing new music, revealing, When I write new songs, now, I think, “What was I thinking about when I wrote that other song I liked?” And I can never figure it out. And I could never figure out where it comes from. Not that they’re incredible songs or anything, but I think it’s kinda that situation where they sort of float by, and you just gotta pull them out of the air at the right time. A lot of the time, it doesn’t work, but there are some times when they are just floating by. So there you go. They just pop up, and end up being about my life, or my friends, or my experiences, because that’s what I know. And it’s weird because you always have these experiences, and only certain times are you able to manifest these thoughts into a piece of something. So, I don’t understand it. But that’s the beauty of it, though.’ It remains to be seen what influence these techniques will have on the final record.

DeMarco, an avid fan of Star Wars, also offered his own tribute to actress Carrie Fisher in the post, adding ‘RIP Carrie, I’ll never forget ya, god bless,’ to the end of his caption. The actress, most famous for her portrayal of Princess Leia in Star Wars, died on the 27th December.
