The album will be repackaged in a five LP or four-CD box set which will include remastered and alternate mixes of the album from producer Steven Wilson, as well as a host of outtakes and live versions.

It’s set for release on October 1st priced between £90 and £210. The tweet below showcases the package, which also includes a booklet, recreated tour programme and poster.

The original release was met with mixed reviews, but ‘Technical Ecstasy’ was a commercial success and was backed by a tour that included support from Aussie rockers AC/DC.

During the tour, the band experienced much friction and saw singer Ozzy Osbourne temporarily depart to be replaced by Savoy Brown’s Dave Walker. Although Osbourne would soon return for 1978’s ‘Never Say Die’, but was afterwards replaced permanently by Ronnie James Dio.

This ‘Super Deluxe’ version of ‘Technical Ecstasy’ is just the latest in a series of reissues from the well-renowned metal group. Earlier this year, they put out a reissue of their fourth album ‘Vol. 4’ containing 20 unreleased tracks.

In addition to this Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler also announced that he is working on his autobiography, in the hope that he can give his grandchildren the chance to look back at his illustrious career.

Elsewhere, original drummer Bill Ward is pushing for the band to reform and perhaps the possibility of recording a final album. Ward did leave the band in 2012 but has now stated “I’m not done with the Black Sabbath legacy. I haven’t been done. I was made done, but I’m not done. So, the others might be done, but I’m not.”

The number 1 best-selling record of last year is Fleetwood Mac’s iconic Rumours from 1977 with a total of 32,500 purchases. A regular Top 10 entry in recent years, the album ended at #3 in both 2019 and 2018. At second and third position in 2020 are What’s The Story Morning Glory (1995) by Oasis and Back To Black (2006) by Amy Winehouse. The fourth spot is claimed by Nirvana’s seminal Nevermind (1991) followed by Harry Styles’ latest release Fine Line (2019).

The best performing LP from 2020 is Kylie Minogue’s fifteenth record Disco that came out last November straight into topping the charts and selling 13,500 vinyl in its debut week. Already certified gold by the BPI, the album also made her the first female to land a chart topping release in five consecutive decades. The other 2020 releases to enter the year-end Top 10 include rock veterans AC/DC’s Power Up, Arctic Monkey’s Live At The Royal Albert Hall and Idles’ critically acclaimed Ultra Mono.

The rest of the Top 40 highlights two separate entries by the Beatles (Abbey Road at #15 and Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band at #37), Joy Division (Closer at #32 and Unknown Pleasures at #39), Nirvana (Nevermind at #4 and Unplugged In New York at #36) and Oasis (What’s The Story Morning Glory at #2 and Definitely Maybe at #29). The most featured band in 2020’s chart are Sheffield’s finest Arctic Monkeys with three separate best-selling records: Live At The Royal Albert Hall (#9), AM (#28) and Whatever People Say I Am That’s What I Am (#33).

Alongside the vinyl chart, the OCC also revealed the best-selling singles of 2020, topped by Liam Gallagher’s festive charity single ‘All You’re Dreaming Off‘. At the second spot is Joy Division’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart‘ followed closely by Rolling Stone’s ‘Living In A Ghost Town‘. The rest of the Top 10 include tracks by Billie Eilish, New Order, Noel Gallagher, Coldplay, Kily Minogue and three other remastered singles by Joy Division.

The Official Charts Company was established in 1969 to keep track of all sales of singles, albums and movies in the UK. It is currently operated by the BPI and the Entertainment Retailers Association, and was updated few years ago to include downloads and streaming too to reflect the changing industry trends. For the last thirteen consecutive years, LPs have became increasingly popular and having a year-on-year rise in sales.

Surprisingly, the OCC also revealed that casette sales have doubled from 2019, and shared the Top 40 best-selling tapes.

The anniversary repressing was launched on 1st January on limited 600 copies of the gold and red splatter vinyl, with one side etched with handwritten lyrics. Originally available on the While She Sleeps’ official website, the LPs sold out immediately but you can keep checking the band’s social media channels in case more copies are ordered due to popular demand.

The North Stands For Nothing is the third EP in the band’s career following their first steps with And This Is Just The Start (2006) and Split with the Andwhitestars (2009), and the one to transform While She Sleeps from a hobbie and side project into a full-time music act. The EP was recorded between January and April 2010 in their home studio ‘The Barn’ in Sheffield, with mastering by Tim Turan from Turan Audio in Oxford, and officially released on 26 July through Small Time Recordings.

The North Stands For Nothing was almost entirely a self-made project produced by guitarist Mat Welsh with composition, arrangement, lyrics and artwork all done by the band. The EP featured While She Sleeps’ first two music videos of the monumental tracks ‘Crows‘ and ‘Hearts Aside Our Horses‘, fan favourites to this day and a highlight of any of the band’s energetic concerts.

With the addition of vocalist Lawrence Taylor the year before and ever since beginning to work on The North Stands For Nothing, the band has maintained its original line-up consisting of the founding members Mat Welsh (rhythm guitar), Aaran McKenzie (bass), Sean Long (lead guitar) and Adam Savage (drums). Heavily toured and promoted, the EP paved the way for the Sheffield quintet to becoming one of the most influential and sought-after acts in the European contemporary metalcore scene.

Earlier in 2020, in response to the widespread criticism of devaluation of music by streaming platforms and record labels, in addition to the difficulties imposed on music acts due to the COVID-19 ongoing restrictions, While She Sleeps made a stand and launched their innovative sustainable business model. Based around the Patreon public support platform, the band established the Sleeps Society virtual club, revolving around four tiers of monthly membership granting their followers a wide range of benefits and exclusive content. Since its inception on 15 October 2020 and following the update two weeks later, While She Sleeps have more than passed their initial goal of 500 members, with the highest paid ‘Revolution’ tier all sold out and currently standing at 2071 total members and almost 142 unique posts

Alongside the society launch, the metalcore heavyweights debuted the title single ‘Sleeps Society‘ as their first and only release for 2020. Following the standalone track ‘Fakers Plague‘ from December 2019, these are the only two songs since the release of their fourth album So What? in March 2019. While She Sleeps have confirmed they are currently working on their fifth record, also called Sleeps Society and set for premiere on 16 April 2021, done entirely with their fans’ and members’ support.
