It is allegedly said that the show was shortened due to surpassing the venue’s curfew, which stipulates that events within the arena must conclude no later than 11pm from Monday to Saturday and no later than 10.30pm on Sundays.

Throughout the show, Madonna captivated the audience as she graced the stage adorned in satin lingerie and engaged in provocative movements alongside a troupe of bare-chested dancers. However, the performance came to an unexpected halt following the rendition of “Rain”, leaving disappointed fans bereft of the opportunity to hear “Like A Virgin”, “B***h I’m Madonna”, “Holiday,” and the concluding number, “Celebration”.

Disgruntled attendees took to Twitter, to express their frustration at feeling “disrespected” and “disappointed”.

Rumours circulated that the late start was due to alleged technically difficulties at the start of the show. During Madonnas first performance on Saturday night, Madonna herself told fans that the was a technical difficultly, making Sunday the second occasion for these alleged ‘technical difficulties’.

Madonna announced on stage by saying “Sorry about this, sometimes these things happen, there’s a problem with the sound so they’re pressing the reset button.” She went on to address her own health issues recently and told fans at the O2 “I didn’t think I was going to make it, neither did the Doctors. The angels were there and my children save me every time.” 

Madonna reminisced about the challenges she faced during her early days in the music industry and in an effort to maintain the audience’s engagement, she expressed her enthusiasm and posed a question to the thousands in attendance, she said, “Am I imagining this? Oh my God, it is so good to be back London.” The popstar added “I’m pretty damned surprised that I made it this far and I mean that on so many levels. How did I make it this far? Because of you. I’m going to take a bit of credit too.”

Madonna also celebrated her daughter Lola’s birthday on the day of the opening night for her Celebration tour, were she had allegedly started late.

With two additional performances remaining, Madonna is scheduled to perform at the O2 Arena in London tonight, on October 17th and October 18th. Fans are eagerly anticipating her timely arrival and the complete execution of her set-list.

In an Instagram post with o2uk, Kylie Minogue announces that there is a chance to win “two free tickets to this intimate event” in a video. There are 700 pairs of tickets available to win if you are a Virgin Media Broadband or O2 customer.

Commenting on the exclusive gig, Kylie said “I’m thrilled to be returning to London to play such an intimate venue. It’s going to be a really special evening playing some favourites from throughout my career and of course from my new album out that week. I can’t wait to see some of you there!”

On September 22, Kylie will be releasing her sixteenth studio album Tension. The upcoming album was announced in May and will be her most recent album since her 2020 disco album Disco. The singer has already released two singles from Tension. The lead single of the album “Padam Padam” was released on May 18 and “Tension” was released on August 31.

A total of eleven songs are to be included in the Tension standard edition of the album with songs titled “Hold On to Now”, “You Still Get Me High”, and “10 Out of 10” featuring Dutch DJ and electronic music producer Olivier Heldens.

The 55-year-old pop sensation is the highest-selling female Australian artist of all time with over 80 million records sold worldwide. She released her debut studio album Kylie in 1988 which peaked at number one in the United Kingdom and became the fifth best-selling album of the decade.

“I’m impartial,” he says. This also marks the second year for the best artist prize, as the BRITs replaced best male and female awards with one gender-neutral category in 2022. Mo remains aware of the constant criticisms and Newsbeat aren’t the first ones to bring the matter up.

Mark Savage, a BBC Music correspondent interviews Mo about the music industry as a whole. Mo says, “No-one gets into this industry being like, ‘I must win this award, I must be nominated for that’. “And the people that are watching it, the young kids who are like, ‘Oh, I want to be like Adele or Beyoncé, or Sam Smith, they just want to be like their first idols. This is a celebration of music first.”

Mo likes the fact that artists are speaking out, as he uses a lot of music in his routines. He tells Newsbeat, “They’re being heard and their opinions are being listened to. It’s nice to be a part of musicians who are using their platform to have an opinion on society and life.”

Regardless of criticisms or non-criticisms, all eyes are focused on Mo within a second when he’s on stage. He confessed that he’d be lying if he said that wasn’t nervous ahead of Saturday. “This is a big occasion for me and for so many people,” Mo says. “I think it’s nice to have some nerves you know, I think the day I don’t have any nerves is the day that this is too normal.”

Mo shares what he has learnt from last year’s BRIT Awards as a ‘first-timer’ host. He says that he will “probably be a bit calmer than last year” when he was “shouting a lot”. “What you could expect is a bit more controlled chaos on my behalf. I’m doing a suit change as well so I’m doing two different colours. He tells Newsbeat.

In all seriousness, Mo expressed that this experience as a host from last year’s awards shaped his confidence in this year’s awards. He says, “Last year, I wasn’t that confident in doing it but I’ve kind of got one under my belt now.”

On August 8^th, the day after the second of the two shows, which was added due to high demand, Scott tweeted, “London thank u for those last two days. What an amazing fucking time ahhhhhhhhhhhh”  and “I’ll be back when it’s album time”.

Scott kicked off the first show in a typically dramatic fashion, pyrotechnics firing as the rapper appeared on a podium above the stage as he opened with “Hold That Heat”. Scott didn’t disappoint his UK fans, smashing through a 23-song set, including the songs “Sicko Mode”, “MAFIA”, “Way Back”, and “Butterfly Effect”. The incendiary performance was quickly shared by fans who didn’t hang around posting footage to social media. Concert attendee @Adam_Baines tweeted, “@trvisXX Travis Scott at  @TheO2 tonight went beyond wild, never seen a crowd like it”.

The rapper also performed “Pick Up The Phone” with a fan and then gave him his shoes and treated the crowd to a couple of unreleased songs, with Scott performing “Lost Forever”, featuring Westside Gunn and James Blake and “God’s Country”, featuring Kanye West. Both songs will likely appear on his upcoming album Utopia.

The London stint is Scott’s first headline engagement since the Astroworld tragedy last year, where ten people died and many more were injured in the fatal crowd crush. NME reported Houston Fire Department Chief Sam Peña’s comments at the time: “The crowd began to compress towards the front of the stage and that caused some panic and it started causing some injuries.”

Festival goer Alexis Guavin told CNN in the aftermath, “I have been to many Travis shows before and am definitely aware of how insane the crowd and pits can be but this was my first Astroworld fest and I had no idea it could get like that”. She continued, “Once he started, all hell broke loose. All of what is to be 50,000 people ran to the front, compressing everyone together with the little air available. Luckily, I have mosh pit experience and am 6ft tall so I could at least put my head up to breathe but others not so fortunate”.

The first of his London shows didn’t go without incident, with a fan throwing something at Scott. The London newspaper The Metro reported, “It was reportedly a heavy item, as a loud bang was heard as it made contact with the floor. The rapper was said to be unimpressed and annoyed by the incident but carried on with his show without interruption, avoiding its distraction”.

The Grammy-Award-winning artist was invited to join the performance by guitarist and vocalist Alana Haim, Swift proceeded to join the band in a rendition of their hit single “Gasoline“. Halfway through the performance, Taylor said to the crowd, “Good evening London. You know, I haven’t been on the stage for a very long time, it’s nice, it’s nice, it’s very nice. But, you know, when I heard that my girls were playing in London at the O2 and I thought, ‘I’m gonna have to see that’ and it looks like there’s about 20,000 other people that also thought that.“  

The “Shake It Off” singer continued to address the crowd and proceeded to allude to a mash-up, “We had a thought – that if we were to do some sort of mash-up, we could possibly maybe get you to sing the loudest that you have sung all night, which is a big job because you’ve been singing very loudly, it’s extraordinary work. Would you be up for it? Would you sing with us?”

After an almighty roar from the audience, the band proceeded to play “Gasoline“, Swift then took to the microphone and sang snippets from her hit “Love Story“; both acts then aligned musically to continue the performance of “Gasoline“. Before walking off-stage, Swift saluted the audience and shouted, “Ladies and gentlemen, please take care of my best friends for the rest of the evening. Thanks for having me, good evening.”  

The now infamous performance took place on Thursday 21st July 2022 and served as the concluding show of the band’s UK tour. After several festival appearances in the UK and Europe, Haim proceeded to perform across the UK for their 2022 headlining arena tour. The band have acquired a loyal fan base in the UK due to their catchy hits such as 2012 hit “Don’t Save Me” and “The Steps“. 

The original version of “Gasoline” was taken from the band’s most recent album Women In Music Pt.III, the album was released in 2020 and became Haim’s second number one album within the UK charts. The band’s third studio album was met with much commercial and critical acclaim, Women In Music Pt.III received a Grammy Award nomination for Album Of The Year. In 2021 “Gasoline” was treated to a remix by Swift; the re-worked version was then released as a single and placed within the Top 100 UK Singles Chart. The remix marked the second collaboration between the two acts; Haim and Swift previously worked together on the single “No Body, No Crime“. The track was released in 2020 and included in Swift’s ninth studio album Evermore. 

The BBC’s Mark Savage reported earlier today that Eilish asked the O2 security team to distribute water to fans before asking “Are you all ok? It’s hot, I know, Don’t try to save feelings”, and eventually pausing the show to ask fans to “Take a step back” and “Give everybody some space. If someone looks a little woozy, just tell someone.”

Thankfully everyone ended up being okay, after fans took it upon themselves to form a protective circle around the effected party and shined phone lights on them until security arrived, her set carried on as usual. However, it’s not the first time the star has had to pause a show to check on her fans safety. Back in February, she interrupted her Happier Than Ever tour show in Atlanta after noticing someone struggling to breathe and refusing to proceed until they could access an inhaler. She also had to stop her show later that month at Maddison Square Garden in New York saying “If you want to sit down, you are allowed. Go ahead, you’re good. Sit down, take a breath.”

Eilish is currently in the middle of her UK tour promoting new album Happier Than Ever. She will perform again at London’s O2 tonight before continuing on to Glasgow’s Ovo Hydro Arena on Tuesday 14th June, Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on the 15th, and returning to the O2 in London to finish the UK leg with two final shows on the 16th, 25th, and 26th. This announcement follows, and is roughly in-keeping with an ambiguous tweet posted at the end of September promising ‘New The 1975 – 2017’ without specifying exactly what this would be – album, single or LP. Of that Tweet, Healy said, ‘That was me slightly pissed and being honest with myself about how impatient I am. There’s not going to be another album next year because we all know how seriously I take our albums, but I think we’ll put out a piece of music.’

The band have been busy, finding time amongst their touring schedule, to develop new ideas and relationships. Healy said, ‘We’ve met so many artists, who we’re not necessarily going to be working with, but it’s been a very inspiring time for us. I just know we’ll definitely put out a single next year, or an EP which will lead up to the album, which I reckon will come out early summer 2018. It’ll be really sad but it’ll change the world ‘cause it’ll be fucking sick. You take what’s amazing about the previous record and you distill it and you refine it and extend it and you build on it, that’s always our idea.’

As for the tone of the album, Healy is clear that a definitive answer is a long way off, saying, ‘I don’t fucking know. I talk a million miles a minute. I’ll be writing one song and I’ll think I know what the whole record is going to sound like, and it completely changes. I know that it’s going to be more all over the place than the last record in regards to it being recorded in so many different places. It’s already quite a weird record. I’ve written a lot of it. It’s going to be… I don’t know. It is interesting to think I don’t know. I’ve got an idea of what I want to do visually and then it becomes a process of procrastination. Figuring out exactly what I want to do.’

Album speculation is not the only news Matt Healy has been making. He also hit the headlines after giving a speech critiquing Donald Trump and Brexit at the band’s gig at the O2 in London last night (15^th December), per NME. Healy concluded with a rallying, healing cry of ‘We love you London.’ That’s just as well, as they’ll stay in the city tonight to play their second night at the O2, before they hit the road to continue the tour in Newcastle, Glasgow, Bournemouth and Cardiff. After a week’s break the band will hit the continent taking in cities including Amsterdam, Paris, Barcelona. The full UK dates are shown below:

The band’s first UK tour for three years will be held at Dublin’s 3Arena before stopping at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena, Sheffield Arena, Manchester Arena, Birmingham’s Genting Arena, Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena and Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena, finishing at O2 Arena in London. The band will have Disturbed as Special Guests on the tour, with In Flames opening.

The band’s current lineup consists of lead vocalist M. Shadows, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist Zacky Vengeance, lead guitarist and backing vocalist Synyster Gates, bassist and backing vocalist Johnny Christ, and drummer Brooks Wackerman. In December 2013 the band celebrated their No. 1 album Hail To The King with a sold out arena tour taking place in Manchester, Birmingham and London’s Wembley Arena.

Avenged Sevenfold has released six studio albums, one live album and eighteen singles and have sold over 8 million albums worldwide.
