Maribou State released their third album ‘Hallucinating Love’ earlier this year.

The electronic duo formed in 2011, and they began producing electronic music that blends together instrumentation, soulful vocals and global influences.

Early EP releases such as ‘Habitat‘ in 2011 and remixed songs for other artists such as Lana Del Rey and Fatboy Slim established them within the UK electronic scene.

Their debut album released in 2015 ‘Portraits’ introduced their fusion of downtempo beats with live elements. Their follow-up album ‘Kingdoms in Colour‘, released three years later, expanded their sound with more collaborations, one key one being with Khruangbin. This album reached the UK Top 30.

Their recent release ‘Hallucinating Love’ continued to show their progression, exploring themes of healing and resilience.

Their live performances, often featuring full bands and immersive visuals, have allowed them to performance across major festivals and venues worldwide.

Their single ‘Midas’ earned BPI Silver certification in 2022 (selling over 200,000 units).

Despite setbacks, including Chris Davids’ battle with Chiari malformation, the duo continues to be a big part of electronic music, continuously being praised for their blending of electronic and organic sounds.

In 2022, the band had to cancel multiple shows and put a pause on new music whilst Chris recovered from brain surgery.

He announced he was diagnosed with Chiari malformation, a rare occurence where the lower part of the brain pushes down into the spinal canal, according to the NHS.

SXSW London 2025 has confirmed the first 100 showcase acts to perform at the festival. Taking place in venues around Shoreditch from June 2 – June 7, the festival will host a diverse array of artists. Some names, such as Tems at the Troxy on June 5, have already been confirmed for the SXSW London lineup, as we get a new wave of acts set to grace the stage.

Kicking things off at Shoreditch Town Hall will be “The House of R&B”, a stage dedicated to highlighting rising stars in the genre from the UK and across the globe. Brit award-winning singer Mabel will get things underway. Alt-soul songstress Sasha Keable and Grammy-nominated star NAO will also perform. Later in the week, Miraa May and Sienna Spiro will take to the stage, on a bill that promises a wealth of soulful R&B talent.

On Thursday June 5, the Caribbean Music House will take over Strongrooms, an eclectic, independently owned venue in Shoreditch. Here, they will feature a lineup of exciting artists from the Caribbean diaspora, with a showcase from Deadly, featuring Lila Iké in the live room, while the courtyard audience will be given an invigorating set from Seani B’s Bruk Out session, playing Caribbean music such as dancehall, reggae and more.

On Friday, the renowned reggae, dancehall and Afrobeats festival City Splash will storm through Strongrooms, providing an electrifying mix of Caribbean and African-influenced music.

Elsewhere, Canadian singer-songwriter Alice Glass will bring her electronic-fusion sounds to Village Underground. Shoreditch Town Hall will also have some classical sets in store for the crowd, playing host to The Future of Classical Music Series.

Across the SXSW London 2025 festival, several showcases will take place highlighting queer music, with platforms such as Gay Times, Queer Alt Music, Wraith and more presenting LGBTQ+ acts such as Canadian singer and drag performer Queen Priyanka at the Old Blue Last.

Founded in Austin, Texas in 1987, SXSW has held its festival for decades with the aim to “help creative people to achieve their goals”, combining a rich mix of creative and technological industries into a hotbed of entertainment and networking between creative, innovative thinkers. Taking place in London for the first time ever, this summer’s Shoreditch-based festival will be one of the biggest cross-industry events in Europe.

That’s exactly how I want our festival to feel — each of our music venues will be a gateway into a different international new music scene. We’re collaborating with the most exciting pioneers in underground music movements to present the future of music from their unique perspectives, and I’m beyond excited by the artists they’ve chosen to platform.”

All Points East festival, hosted in London’s Victoria Park, has announced its first wave of artists for 2024. Running since 2018, All Points East has consistently secured performances from some of the most talented artists from across the music world. Past iterations of the festival have seen the likes of Icelandic singer Björk, Australia’s Nick Cave and his band the Bad Seeds, and American rock band The Strokes. This year’s event will see a considerable number of electronic artists on the bill, as well as stars from rap, rock, and Jazz.

All Points East will be taking place across two weekends in August 2024. Announced today, the supporting acts for the festival’s rock-centric Sunday show will include Portland’s, The Decemberists, and Washington’s Sleater Kinney. Off the back of their eleventh studio album, released this year, Sleater Kinney’s female duo will be bringing their soft rock tunes in support of The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie.

In addition to the rock show on Sunday, the festival has already revealed that the event on August 17th will primarily feature rap music, with British rapper Benjamin Coyle-Larner, better known as Loyle Carner, taking the spotlight as the headliner for the Saturday show. Joining Carner on the same day will be legendary hip-hop artist Nas. A familiar name to all hip-hop heads, Nas is best known for his debut album Illmatic.

1994’s Illmatic has proven to be one of the most influential hip-hop projects of the last 30 years, featuring vocals and production from A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-tip and rap pioneer Pete Rock. Since Illmatic, Nas has been at the forefront of hip-hop’s progression, working with some of the music industry’s biggest names including Mobb Deep, Jay-Z, and Amy Winehouse. The 50-year-old artist has a long list of credits across the media landscape, from multiple films and albums to a feature on the PlayStation 2 classic, Tony Hawk’s Underground, Nas has left a significant imprint on hip-hop culture.

All Points East’s second weekend, beginning August 23rd will see American rock band LCD Soundsystem headline the Friday night. Among those playing on Friday 23rd will be British DJ and producer Floating Points and former outsider artist Jai Paul.

After releasing his demo BTSTU on Myspace in 2007, Jai Paul received considerable attention from the UK music press. In 2019, Paul’s first, and only full album was officially released, despite its unofficial leak occurring six years prior. Jai Paul has had an irregular and sparce musical output, having taken several hiatuses in between his releases. Last year’s Coachella festival saw Paul’s first live performance. His set at All Points East is currently Paul’s only booking for 2024, and with his skittish reputation, it is unclear when the next will be.

Although the double weekend event has only announced a select few acts, more artists will be added to the list in due time. Tickets for August 17th, 23rd, and 25th are currently on sale and can be purchased here.

Irish singer songwriter, Dermot Kennedy, will now officially be one of the headline acts at the dearest London festival known as All Points East. Announced only recently and with a welcoming surprise. It will be his second appearance at the Victoria park show after his last show in 2019, before his debut album was released.

Ever since his first album drop he has delivered absolute crackers to the scene and has, in the meantime, released a second studio album last year (2022) called Sonder. Reaching successful levels of feedback and a great deal of critical acclaim, the Irishman continues his pop journey to a steady fame. Bringing him to headlining position at his coming festivals.

The festival All Points East is an annual event prepared to, over the course of 10 days, show the public how to put on a show. Based in London’s Victoria Park it allows the audience to indulge in an alternative rock affair with a beautiful combination of other popular music artists.

As Dermot Kennedy joins the club we can officially accept that the lineup has been rounded up. This includes Stormzy, Kehlani, Sampha, Knucks and more on the first day (18th August). The second day (25th August) consists on a different approach to the stage with bands such as The Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Girl In Red, Amyl And The Sniffers, Black Midi and many, many more good acts.

The third day (26th August) is where our friend Kennedy steps in who will be playing alongside Olivia Dean, AURORA, SG Lewis, Novo Amor and more to be announced. Finally the final day (28th August) will be showcasing Haim, Girl In Red (again apparently), Tove Lo, Confidence Man, Snail Mail, Tamino, Romy and too many more to continue. It is quite a freely directed festival and the layout of the acts seems to work perfectly amongst each other.

Dermot Kennedy will make his appearance in London as a grand finale to finish off his mammoth tour around the globe. Having already commenced, today (4th April) he will be playing at the International Centre in Bournemouth, he will be making his way through several cities in the UK before crossing the pond to the US all the way through May and June. Once his American tour comes to an end in the Big Apple his trip returns to Ireland, Scotland and finally, the Big Smoke.

Tickets are already available to buy for all his shows, including All Points East.
