The album, which first came out in 2003, is now digitally out and will physically be available on October 31, it captures performances of the different songs of the album across various shows the band did between 2003 to 2009.

The live version of the album was mixed by Ben Baptie and mastered by Matt Colton. To celebrate the announcement, the band released a live video performance of the track ‘There, There’ which was filmed during performance in Buenos Aires in March 2009.

The idea for the album came to Thom Yorke, frontman of the band, whilst he was working of critically acclaimed theatre production Hamlet Hail to the Thief, an adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic play and set to a deconstructed score of reworked songs from Radiohead.

In a statement explaining how the record came about, Yorke said, “In the process of thinking how to build arrangements for the Shakespeare Hamlet/Hail to the Thief theatre production I asked to hear some archive live recordings of the songs. I was shocked by the kind of energy behind the way we played and it really helped me find a way forward. For us, back in the day, the finishing of this record was particularly messy and fraught, we were very proud of it but there was a taste left in our mouths, it was a dark time in so many ways. Anyway we decided to get these live recordings mixed (it would have been insane to keep them for ourselves) by Ben Baptie, who did an amazing job. It has all been a very cathartic process, we very much hope you enjoy them.”

The album will be available on vinyl in a limited-edition at independent stores, and on cyan-colored vinyl exclusively from the band’s W.A.S.T.E. store.

The album’s artwork is a nod to The 1975’s Manchester roots – a series of photos of the city’s suburb Bosden Farm, capturing the dreamy essence that purposefully juxtaposes the band’s upbeat, synth-heavy sound.

This latest announcement marks The 1975’s third live record, following 2023’s ‘At Their Very Best’ live album from their Madison Square Garden, New York show November 7 2022. The album transferred to big screen audiences, also released as an Amazon Prime Exclusive film. This compilation featured many tracks in common with the latest release, albeit starring more singles from ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’ – the band’s first live run of this particular album. This isn’t the only major news from The 1975 this week: The BRIT Award-winning band were announced as this year’s Glastonbury festival Friday night headliners. The quartet – Matty Healy (vocals/guitar), George Daniel (drums), Adam Hann (lead guitar) and Ross MacDonald (bass guitar) – will take to the Pyramid stage June 26, alongside other co-main acts, Olivia Rodrigo and Neil Young. Although tickets were snapped up quickly in November, fans can anticipate a traditional resale in April, with more information to follow. This will be the third time the band play the world-renowned festival, having previously made appearances in 2014 and 2016, and signalling the end of their “indefinite hiatus” since the ‘Still…At Their Very Best’ tour’s finale in March 2024.

The Manchester-native band are also rumoured to have new material in the works – January 2, they took to Instagram to reveal a photo of frontman Matty Healy at work in an instrument-packed studio. Despite no caption, this spurred supposed news from an unnamed “insider” at The Sun, detailing The 1975’s next record title as possibly ‘God Has Entered My Body’, and allegedly featuring lyrical inspiration from Healy and Taylor Swift’s public romance in 2023. In his signature satirical style, the frontman chimed in on a The 1975 subreddit page in response to the rumours: “Huge if true”. This also comes after Healy previously teasing fans November 18 with a since deleted X/Twitter post, revealing a speculated tracklist for an upcoming LP. The post featured titles of a cynical nature, such as ‘Owe God A Death’, ‘We were promised set backs’ and ‘TaxmanTaxmanInjectioHobby’. Once again, Healy kept followers baffled with a subsequent post: “This is my ‘names for our children’ folder”.

The speculated new material, as of yet, has no determined release date, but will follow the latest ‘Still…At Their Very Best’ live recording as a studio release. Fans can expect more news about the band’s next venture into new music at this year’s Glastonbury festival.

After her triumphant performance at Royal Albert Hall, UK’s powerhouse hitmaker Raye, has released My 21st Century Symphony (Live At Royal Albert Hall), the highly anticipated live version of her album, My 21st Century Blues, which was released in February this year. The 25 year old singer-songwriter teamed up with The Heritage Orchestra and The Flames Collective to deliver a masterclass in orchestral pop music – a collaboration that has managed to perfect an almost perfect debut album.

The choir and orchestral infusion Raye and her team have put into this celebrated pop album uplifts and intensifies each song’s intended mood, whether that’s with the heart-wrenching yet inspirational ballad “Ice-cream Man”, or with the entrancing dance single, “Black Mascara”. Additional interludes, preludes, overtures and requiems allowed for conductor Tom Richards to showcase his own vision (or sound, mind you) of Raye’s musical prowess, intertwined sonically with original arrangements fans loved from the original album.

Listeners gain an insight into Raye’s infectious stage presence and sense of humour, “Are you f****** joking”, she screams in joy and disbelief at the beginning of the album to 3,442 cheering attendees.

“I will never forget this night – as long as I live,” she announces to the crowd at the end of the album, followed by music of which you imagine her twirling and dancing off stage.

Perhaps her biggest hit off the studio album, “Escapism”, comes as the encore performance on the live version – originally a genre-bending take on a “pop” song, now transformed with the epic cacophony of the haunting, Phantom of the Opera-esque organ, electric guitar and of course, Raye’s unwavering vocals echoed by the powerful harmonies of The Flames Collective.

“The show of my entire career, I can’t handle this… I cannot believe this is my real life after all these years of hustle and monstrous dreams, my city saw me for the artist I truly want to be and continue to strive to be,” she stated in a celebratory Instagram post.

The release of this live album comes after a string of successes for the London-born singer. Not only did “Escapism” chart at no.1 in the UK singles chart at the beginning of the year, or that her current collaboration “Prada” with CaSSo and D-Block Europe is currently at no.2 on the charts, but she was also shortlisted for the prestigious Mercury Prize back in July – an award that goes to the best album recorded by a UK artist.

Last week, Raye appeared on The Late Show starring Jimmy Fallon to perform a medley of “Escapism/Worth It” accompanied by a smaller orchestra to promote the release.

Raye’s popularity is growing by the day on an international scale, currently touring worldwide – taking a short break only to rehearse for the live recording at Royal Albert Hall. Raye is currently touring the U.S but will return for several sold-out shows in the UK this November/December. See below for UK touring dates:

Ed Sheeran has surprised fans by announcing he has recorded a live version of his forthcoming album Autumn Variations. If this wasn’t enough for his fan base, he has also revealed that the recordings were made by surprising a lucky selection of people and giving performances in their homes.

In a post on the singer’s Instagram page, he shared a video of him performing his song “Wake Me Up” from his 2011 album + in the living room of an overwhelmed and excited fan.

Sheeran said in his post “So I did some surprise pop up gigs in fans houses, secretly recording a live version of Autumn Variations where each song is recorded in a different fans living room, but all of it was a total surprise.” The Instagram teaser also revealed that “The fan living room live Autumn Variations album coming soon, proper album out September 29th go preorder you legends x”.

The pop star’s upcoming seventh album is produced by Aaron Dessner of American band The National, who also worked with Sheeran on his album - (Subtract) which was released in May and marked the end of the singer’s so-called “mathematical era”. In a statement via Rolling Stone, Sheeran spoke on working with Dessner, stating “When I recorded ‘-’ (‘Subtract’) with Aaron Dessner, we clicked immediately. We wrote and recorded non-stop and this album was born out of that partnership. I feel he has captured the feeling of autumn so wonderfully in his sonics and I hope everyone loves it as much as I do.”.

It is said that Sheeran’s upcoming Autumn Variations is inspired by a piece of 19th century orchestral work by composer Edward Elgar, titled Enigma Variations.

Sheeran will be promoting his new album by performing Autumn Variations in full at London’s Royal Albert Hall this November. Tickets are available here.

Recording the live version of Autumn Variations is not the only surprise the “Eyes Closed” singer has given fans recently. Last week, the musician surprised two fans in Las Vegas by giving an unplanned performance at their wedding. For their special day, Sheeran performed the song “Magical” from his upcoming LP. The singer uploaded this moment to his Instagram, with the caption “Crashed a wedding, this is Magical x”

Liam Gallagher has announced an intimate London show, set to take place on 9th August 2023 at KOKO.

The show will celebrate the release of Gallagher’s new live album, Knebworth 22, due to come out on 11th August 2023. The intimate performance will allow fans the opportunity to hear tracks from both his solo discography and that of Oasis, with Liam taking to Twitter to call the news of the gig “biblical.”

Liam’s performance at KOKO is set to be his only indoor UK gig scheduled for 2023, though he is set to perform at various UK festivals throughout the year.

Speaking on the release of Knebworth 22, Liam said, “So we recorded the Knebworth gigs we did last year. We all sound BIBLICAL, turn it up ENJOY, LGx.” Liam played two sold-out nights at Knebworth back in June 2022, with over 170,000 fans attending the shows which were reminiscent of the iconic 1996 Oasis Knebworth performance.

Liam announced the news of the live album by sharing the live recording of an Oasis deep cut, “Roll It Over,” taken from one of his Knebworth 22 shows. The track was originally featured on Oasis’ fourth studio album, Standing on the Shoulders of Giants, and had never been performed live by the band.

The code will be sent out at 5pm on the 4th. Pre-order Knebworth 22 here.

This gig announcement came shortly after Liam teased fans with the news of his plans to tour the Definitely Maybe album in its entirety to celebrate its upcoming 30th anniversary in 2024.

This will be the band’s most ambitious tour yet, aiming to pack the best of their 5 albums into one show.
In addition to their tour announcement, the band also revealed their plans to release a live album this month. The Feeling of Falling Upwards – Live from The Royal Albert Hall will be released digitally on 14th April 2023. Physical copies of the album will be made available for purchase on 14th July 2023. The live album was recorded during a one-night-only show in 2022 in which the band performed alongside a 12-piece string orchestra and a 12-member gospel choir.

The show at The Royal Albert Hall included a mix of their biggest hits spanning their 5 albums, as well as some deeper album tracks for their true fans, with this being a particularly special venue for the group. 5SOS shared that they busked outside the venue when they first moved to the UK to write their first album 10 years ago.

On stage, drummer Ashton Irwin said, “‘The Feeling of Falling Upwards’ is simply supposed to describe to you the feeling that we have experienced together, the feeling of taking a leap of faith on such a fickle thing like music and sharing this experience together year after year, season after season of our lives.”

The tracklist for The Feeling of Falling Upwards – Live from The Royal Albert Hall is below:

The albums tracklist is from their debut album released in 2020, ‘925’, plus a further two bonus tracks as promised by the band. The album has been hailed as ‘unashamedly experimental and woozy, without having a bad track on it’ with added help and expertise from Gorillaz producer James Dring during production. Started by best friends Asha Lorenz and Louis O’Bryen, the experimental indie quartet will be charging £20 for the live album as well as donating £925 themselves to the worthy cause.

The Windmill has been described by Billboard as “a divey hangout for indie-spirited DIY musicians”, presenting a welcoming space for musicians to experiment with their sound to a music-fanatic audience. The Windmill have their own fundraiser set up too, which has raised up to £65,000 of the desired £72,000 target.

This is not the only time Sorry have participated in fundraising to save music venues from closure. During May 2020, they and other bands such as Shame and Porridge Radio, participated in a charity compilation, ‘Group Therapy Vol.1’, which raised funds for Music Venues Trust and NHS Charities Together.
