The forthcoming tour, taking place during May and June 2025, will mark Richie’s first UK and Ireland tour since 2016.

‘Say Hello To The Hits’ tour will place Richie’s iconic tracks, from multiple decades, at the forefront. From his contributions to funk and soul group The Commodores with tracks like ‘Easy’ and ‘Brick House’ along with his memorable solo hits like ‘Hello’, ‘Say You, Say Me’ and ‘My Destiny’.

This upcoming tour plans to showcase Richie’s musical legacy to his multi-generational fans whilst highlighting his talent as one of the greatest songwriters and entertainers. ‘Say Hello To The Hits’ will use a new production, which remains unique and unseen by UK and Europe audiences. All these efforts will ensure attendees will experience the smooth and soulful musicality of a musician they already know and love.

Richie, now 73-years old, last performed in the UK during King Charles III’s Coronation Concert in 2023, at Windsor Castle. The musical legend performed many of his most notable tracks, including a rendition of ‘Easy’ and ‘All Night Long (All Night)’.

The soul icon has had a continual presence in the industry, from being a judge on ABC’s ‘American Idol’ to touring the United States last year with Earth, Wind & Fire on their ‘Sing A Song All Night Long’  tour, which encountered 20-city wide shows.

Richie is also part-way through his Las Vegas residency, the ‘Lionel Richie: King of Hearts’ show at the Encore Theater, completing over 48 performances since it began in 2019, and continues well into 2025.

This time, Richie brings his talents swiftly to the UK. The tour commences in Belfast on May 31 at the SSE Arena before heading to other prominent cities, including: Glasgow, London, Birmingham and Manchester.

Tickets to the ‘Say Hello To The Hits’ tour went on sale on October 25 at 10am. Tickets can be purchased here.

Due to the high demand for Richie’s UK and Ireland tour, two additional shows were added. A second show in Manchester on June 13 and a second in London on June 15.

The coronation has been a controversial event at best, with multiple artists including Adele, Elton John, Harry Styles and The Spice Girls all declining to perform at the Coronation Concert, set to take place on 7th May 2023. Excuses ranged from scheduling conflicts to simply “no comment“, sparking discussions around the popularity of the Royal Family and what it would mean for the PR of the celebrities who seemed to be in support of the Royals.

Whilst Nick Cave was not invited to perform at the Coronation Concert, he did attend the coronation itself. Cave’s newsletter, The Red Hand Files, included his defense of his acceptance of an invitation.

He wrote, “I am not a monarchist, nor am I a royalist, nor am I an ardent republican for that matter; what I am also not is so spectacularly incurious about the world and the way it works, so ideologically captured, so damn grouchy, as to refuse an invitation to what will more than likely be the most important historical event in the UK of our age. Not just the most important, but the strangest, the weirdest.”

Cave went on to attempt to define his relationship to the Royals, saying, “When I watched the Queen’s funeral on the television last year I found, to my bafflement, that I was weeping myself as the coffin was stripped of the crown, orb and sceptre and lowered through the floor of St George’s Chapel.”

He continued, “I guess what I am trying to say is that, beyond the interminable but necessary debates about the abolition of the monarchy, I hold an inexplicable emotional attachment to the royals – the strangeness of them, the deeply eccentric nature of the whole affair that so perfectly reflects the unique weirdness of Britain itself. I’m just drawn to that kind of thing – the bizarre, the uncanny, the stupefyingly spectacular, the awe-inspiring.”

A fan wrote to Cave, saying, “Nick Cave going to the coronation??! What would the young Nick Cave have thought of that?!” with Cave replying, “as for what the young Nick Cave would have thought – well, the young Nick Cave was, in all due respect to the young Nick Cave, young, and like many young people, mostly demented, so I’m a little cautious around using him as a benchmark for what I should or should not do. He was cute though, I’ll give him that. Deranged, but cute.”

Prior to attending, Cave’s final comment on the matter was “So, with all that in mind, I am looking forward to going the Coronation. I think I’ll wear a suit.“

Compared to last year’s festival with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, The Rolling Stones, Phil Collins, Bon Jovi, Barbara Streisand, Lionel Richie, Adele and so many more artists who truly lit up England’s capital city, this year’s festival will have no problems making such a beautiful event like this, difficult to forget.

One of the lineups will include pop legends, Take That, singer and pianist Billy Joel, rock ‘n’ roll legends, Guns N’ Roses, and K-pop superstars BLACKPINK will all be one of the many headliners this summer.

Pop icon, P!NK will headline two shows as she delivers ‘Summer Carnival’ to London, and rock icon, Bruce Springsteen will also make an appearance in two shows alongside the E Street Band marks his first-ever BST debut. The last remaining headliner is yet to be announced soon.

As for supporting acts, there are a few artists that will officially make an appearance at this coming summer festival. The artists that have been named so far are Hall & Oates’ Daryl Hall for Billy Joel, Gwen Stefani for P!NK, Sabrina Carpenter, upcoming English pop-singers Caity Baser and Mae Stephens, and South Korean indie rockers for BLACKPINK, The Script and Sugababes for Take That, plus plenty more of supporting acts yet to be revealed.

The BST Hyde Park festival spans across three weekends in the summer. The first festival will commence on Friday 23 June and will conclude on Saturday 8 July. Here are the dates for each headliner performing.

Co-founder and director of the festival Peter Taylor commented, “Live music and entertainment is part of the beating heart of the UK and we plan to make Lytham Festival bigger and better than ever before for 2021.” After the event was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19 concerns, so both organisers, artists and fans are looking forward to its return.

Snow Patrol posted about the event, saying “Lytham Festival we’re coming back! We’ll be seeing you on Friday 2nd July 2021 as part of a HUGE line up!” The band recently released a collaborative EP written during lockdown with fans via Instagram Live, under the name Snow Patrol and the Saturday Songwriters. Next year, the band will finally be able to perform ‘The Fireside Sessions’ live and the fans can hear their songs.

Five-day tickets are available now, with individual day tickets arriving this Friday, 30th October. There will even be a ticket option to relax in what has been named The Lounge. Buyers will be reserved a private area for up to 12 people on a raised platform for viewing, with dedicated event staff, and premium food options. The Eden Project, which hosts the concert series in Cornwall, was due to welcome some of music’s biggest names including My Chemical Romance, Lionel Richie, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, The Script, and Diana Ross. The summer event was supposed to take place between June 17th and July 21st 2020.

The organisers of the Eden Sessions have today (April 17) confirmed that their summer schedule of shows will not take place this year due to the current coronavirus crisis. Taking to Instagram to announce the news organisers said: “Organisers have been closely assessing the impacts of the global coronavirus pandemic and decided that to ensure the safety and wellbeing of concert-goers, artists, crews, Eden Sessions staff and supporting teams, the Sessions could not go ahead this year,” a statement from the Eden Sessions, which you can read in full below, explains.”

The continued, “[We are] working hard to reschedule the artists booked for 2020 to play next year. When shows are rescheduled and dates confirmed, the Eden Project will contact all existing ticketholders with details. Original tickets will remain valid for any show that is rescheduled.” You can find out more information about the Eden Sessions postponement here.

The news will come as a double blow to fans as My Chemical Romance was due to have their first UK comeback show at the summer series, but due to the coronavirus crisis it has now been postponed. My Chemical Romance had been due to make their UK live comeback with the Eden Sessions gig on June 16 2020. As it stands, the band’s sold-out Stadium MK residency in Milton Keynes, between June 18 and 21, is still going ahead.

Also going ahead as planned is their show at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, in Dublin, on June 23. My Chemical Romance have already been forced to postpone their planned tour dates in Asia, Australia and New Zealand due to the coronavirus outbreak.

In a statement released on the festival’s website, the Isle of Wight team said: ” The Isle of Wight Festival will no longer be taking place this year. This decision hasn’t been taken lightly and we have tried our hardest to make it work, but it was unavoidable given the current status. The whole team was excited to welcome everyone to the island for another fantastic festival and we extend our sincere apologies to everyone who was looking forward to it as much as we were.

“The safety of our audience, artists, crew and the Isle of Wight community is paramount and we appreciate your patience whilst we’ve been working through this unprecedented situation. We’ll be back stronger than ever on the 17th-21st June 2021 and we hope to see you all again.”

The statement concluded, “We are working closely with our ticketing partners at the moment and they will be in touch very soon to process your refund, or, if you prefer, you can retain your ticket and carry it over to next year. Look out for an email from them very soon and please only contact them if you have not been contacted after 5 days as they are very busy at this time. We hope everyone stays safe and we’ll see you in 2021.”

The news comes after it was announced last week that this year’s Isle of Wight Festival was cancelled due to the ongoing and growing coronavirus pandemic.  As of now, no details have been released on the line-up for next year’s event or whether the same acts will headline in 2021.

This year’s festival was due to feature a stellar line-up including headline performances from the likes of Lionel Richie, Lewis Capaldi, Snow Patrol,The Chemical Brothers, and Duran Duran. This year’s festival was due to celebrate its 50th, as was Glastonbury, which was also cancelled earlier this month. The news follows the cancellation of SXSW and postponement of Coachella as the coronavirus crisis continues to wreak havoc across the globe.

Next year’s festival mark a special occasion, as the festival will be celebrating it’s 50th anniversary. The first Isle of Wight festival took place in 1968 and was headlined by Jefferson Airplane, it wasn’t until the festival’s 1970 edition that the event was put on the map. Tickets are available now and can be purchased here.

Speaking about performing at the festival, Lionel Richie said: “I’m excited to be playing at The Isle of Wight Festival next summer. It’s the first time I’ve performed at the festival and I can’t think of a better way to start the summer! It’s a festival steeped in music history – Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones have all headlined and I’m honoured to be joining the esteemed list! See you all there’.”

The first line-up announcement for next year’s festival will sure to get festival goers excited with five stellar headliners, which include Lionel Richie – who will be making his Isle of Wight Festival debut; Lewis Capaldi; Snow Patrol; The Chemical Brothers; and Duran Duran – which will be their first ever UK festival appearance, and some of the biggest and up and coming artists out there today.

The following names have also been revealed to be joining the already stellar line-up and five stellar headliners will be Kaiser Chiefs, Dido, Example, Happy Mondays, Becky Hill, and James Arthur. Completing the first wave of artists announced is JC Stewart, Maisie Peters, Primal Scream, Sam Fender, Shed Seven, Sigma (DJ Set), Supergrass, and The Manor.

International megastar Lionel Richie is set to co-headline the main stage, on Friday – the opening night of the festival – with Grammy and Brit Award-nominee and man of the moment, Lewis Capaldi. The opening night will also feature a special guest, Pete Tong, as he is set to close Friday night, with his Ibzia Classics.

Meanwhile, Saturday will see Snow Patrol returning the to the festival 20 years after their debut. The band will be joined in headlining duties by The Chemical Brothers, who have six UK Number 1 albums, four Grammy awards, and are known for their live performances. In a UK festival exclusive, British music icons Duran Duran – who have had 21 UK top 20 tunes, 18 American hit singles, and sold over 100 million records.

The festival is returning for its seventh year, to Hyde Park, between the 5th of July and the 14th of July 2019. The event will see music lovers enjoy performances from the biggest names out there today to handpicked rising-stars from the heart of the nations capitol. Tickets will go on sale, on Friday the 29th of March 2019, at 9am, with general admission tickets starting at £69.95.

Speaking about his performance, and what can be expected, Stevie, said: “We’re living in a time where there’s so much is going on in the world. But the one thing that we know for sure that we can celebrate is life, love and music. I’m very thankful that you all have been so wonderful to me, giving me your life and allowing me to share my music with you since I was 11 years old, which was just a little ago. So, we’re just going to play and have fun.”
