With over 200 films watched this year, the ‘Apple’ singer has watched and reviewed some of the biggest films of 2024, giving five star reviews to Challengers, Conclave and Nosferatu. The star wrote for her five-star review of Challengers: “was so amped after watching this I ended up going out til 5am with Harrison and then was super hangover for the met. Worth it though”. It seems Charli’s party-girl ‘Brat’ aesthetic moves beyond the curation of her musical persona and into her watching habits and insightful commentary: at home, on flights and before the met.

On Christmas Day, the singer watched five films: Home Alone (1990), How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1966), The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021), The Piano Teacher (2001) and The Order (2024). Even giving an insight into her home life with fiancé George Daniel of The 1975, in her review of The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021). The five star review: “watched this whilst george built lego”, later letting fans know it was the lego bonsai tree. Daniel continues to feature on Charli’s reviews, writing: “I wanna dance with george!” under her review of Climax (2018), paying homage to her song ‘Club Classics’ from her recent ‘Brat’ album, alongside her comment “the monster kinda gives george vibes <3” under her review of Frankenstein (1931).

The now-very public and active Letterboxd account is everything we would expect from the singer, remaining very on-brand to the popular culture she has been influenced by and assisted in the curation of.

With recurring references to her own discography: “martha is brat!” referring to Martha Stewart’s recently released documentary Martha, a top four featuring camp classic Charlie’s Angels (2000) and countless unfiltered reviews; Charli xcx’s Letterboxd is perhaps one of the best things to come out of the entertainment industry in 2024.
