Earlier this year the festival announced Liam Gallagher, Haim and The Chemical Brothers as headliners. Amongst the line-up are Scottish-Irish rock band Snow Patrol who played the very first Latitude back in 2006 and were set to return to Henham Park after cancelling last year’s Latitude performance due to illness. Other names like Charli XCX, The Lumineers and Keane were also on the list. The BBC revealed that Keane’s bass player Jesse Quin, who lives nearby in Suffolk, is disappointed about the news as the festival holds a “special place in my heart.” Looking back at the first Latitude festival in 2006 he says: “I just remember it being like a school reunion.”

The festival has won various awards such as Best Family Festival, Best Major Festival or Best Event. To keep the high standards going, the organisers promised in the statement that “we’re going to put our all into planning the best Latitude you’ve ever been to and can’t wait to see you in July 2021. For now, keep safe, keep healthy and look after each other.”

For next year’s headliners, it’ll mark the first time that they’ve all headlined the Obelisk Arena. Tickets are on sale and available here. Other artists billed for the Obelisk Arena include Keane, The Lumineers, James Vincent McMorrow and Michael Kiwanuka, with Charli XCX and Inhaler amongst the line up for the BBC Soundstage. HAIM made their Latitude debut back in 2014. On their headliner spot, the American pop group said, “Latitude has always been one of our favourite festivals to play, now we are so excited to come back and headline.” 

In 2018, Liam Gallagher played a secret performance on the BBC Sounds Stage. The former Oasis frontman responded to his 2020 billing with, “Yes brothers and sisters, I’m glad to announce I’ll be headlining Latitude Festival next summer. LG.”

Keane added in, “Latitude is one of our favourite festivals to attend. We’ve seen some brilliant gigs there, from Portishead to Kraftwerk – just to name a couple. We can’t wait to be on the bill next summer.”

Last year, Lana Del Rey, George Ezra and Stereophonics, (a last moment replacement for Snow Patrol), headlined Latitude 2019.  Loyle Carner, Sigrid, Tom Grennan and Cat Power also featured in that year’s line up.

Regarding her spot on the BBC Sounds Stage, Charli XCX said, “I can’t wait to headline the BBC Sounds stage at Latitude next year, my show is gonna be the most iconic party you’ve ever been to – swear on my life.”

Comedian Bill Bailey is also set to perform at Latitude’s Comedy Arena. Joining him will be performance poet Dr John Cooper Clarke, as well as the Women’s Prize For Fiction, #Merky Books and Salon London. On his spot, Bill Bailey said, “Last time I played Latitude it wasn’t too bad so I’m quite looking forward to headlining in 2020″.
