Skindred Announces Their Autumn and Ireland Headline Tour

British reggae-metal band, Skindred have just announced their upcoming UK/Ireland tour which will commence in the autumn period this year. Purchases for pre-tickets will be available on Wednesday 29 March at 10 am. General sales will begin on Friday 31 March for the 11-date tour that will take place in October and November this year.

This announcement also follows the release of their new album, Smile, which marks their eighth long player and their first for Earache Records. In addition, this also marks 25 years since their debut album, which Skindred will acknowledge and celebrate. Pre-orders of the new album will be released on August 4.

Arya Goggin, the tour drummer for the band said, “There is a lot to Smile about when it comes to this TOUR! We are taking out an amazing new band called BlackGold too. They are bringing Nu Metal back and I think ‘Dred fans will love them. Go check ‘em out!”

Skindred’s recognition as one of the UK’s most exciting live bands is widely recognised and have also been nominated for ‘Best UK Live Act’ at the Heavy Music Awards 2023. Prior to their upcoming autumn show, the band are no strangers to igniting moshpits in upcoming months to come, as they will headline for both Takedown and Dominion Festivals in the UK, just before they will appear as special guests for American rock legends, KISS on their anticipated farewell tour.

The unparalleled live set will be brought alive by the band, as they are set to perform on the main stages of 2000 Trees and Maid Of Stone Festivals in the UK, with the addition of special appearances at various other key European festivals that also include a few acts, with the likes of Wacken Open Air, With Full Force Festival, NovaRock and Grasspop.

Download Festival Reveals Exciting 2021 Line-Up

After taking place virtually for 2020’s festival, Download is hoping, along with many other festivals, that by next year it will be safe to hold live music events again. Therefore, they have announced the 2021 line-up today – and fans are thrilled to hear it.

Big names such as KISS and System of a Down were meant to play this year, and were able to perform for viewers via YouTube and other social media streaming platforms. Luckily, both bands have been confirmed for next year as well. Joining them as headliners will be none other than Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro.

Other acts to grace the stage include A Day To Remember, Korn, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, The Pretty Reckless, and many more incredible bands, with more to be announced in the coming months. Download organisers posted on the official Instagram page to let fans know, saying, “After a year apart, we’re so ready ROCK with you once again.” Check out the full line-up below.

The festival will go ahead on 4th-6th June in the small English town of Donington, in Leicester. Pre-sale tickets will be available from Ticketmaster on Wednesday 5th August, while general sale tickets will be released on Friday 7th August at 9am.

Booker for Download, Andy Copping, spoke to Kerrang! about what’s to come for the festival and the future of the live music industry. He explained that “it’s not just festival promoters, it’s yourselves in the media, the labels, and without doubt the fans – you’ve got to get behind these acts.” Since the Covid-19 pandemic has made it unsafe to gather large groups of people, many music industry workers have been fighting to save venues and festivals such as this, to confirm the future of music as we know it.

Copping continued, “Even if it’s not somebody that you particularly like personally, to keep things alive we’ve got to be bringing bands through.” He gave an idea of who he feels will be performing at Download in the future as a headliner, which included Bring Me The Horizon, Paramore, Architects, and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes.

KISS Announce 2019 UK Dates as Part of ‘End of the Road’ Final Tour

Rock legends KISS have announced details today of their UK stint, as part of their final ever tour. Rumours of the band’s retirement began earlier in the year, after- in somewhat typical fashion- the band tried to trademark the term ‘The End Of The Road’, in relation to ‘live performances by a musical band.’

The farewell shows have now been confirmed, with the band revealing a five date run of concerts in the UK, as part of their farewell. You can see the full list of dates below, and tickets are available here, from 9am on Friday November 2.

“All that we have built and all that we have conquered over the past four decades could never have happened without the millions of people worldwide who’ve filled clubs, arenas and stadiums over those years,” said the band in a statement. “This will be the ultimate celebration for those who’ve seen us and a last chance for those who haven’t.

“KISS Army, we’re saying goodbye on our final tour with our biggest show yet and we’ll go out the same way we came in… Unapologetic and Unstoppable.”

As well as the rumblings of a farewell tour, there were also suggestions of one last album from KISS, however Paul Stanley has shot these rumours down. “No. I don’t think so,”he said. “It’s a different time now. I could write ‘Let It Be’ and people would still say, “That’s great. Now play ‘Detroit Rock City’.”
