After the band announced their split in 2014, Kids in Glass Houses have just completed two comeback shows at Slam Dunk Festival only last week. Now that the band have reformed, they are looking to welcome everyone back with a UK tour that will coincide with Smart Casual’s reissue.

Eager to prove that the years spent away have not dulled the desire to perform, Kids in Glass Houses more than validated their rock credentials as they thrilled audiences at this summer’s Slam Dunk Festival. Choosing a great platform to announce themselves back on the scene, fans of the Welsh band will be delighted to learn of a run of six additional dates in the UK. Released in 2008, Smart Casual yeilded instant success for the band, with song “Easy Tiger” receiving much attention across music channels. Headlining tours soon followed in support of the album and so it comes as little surprise that the group now wish to recognise its major impact on their careers, 15 years later.

Speaking about the album and how much it means to the band, singer Aled Phillips said, “writing, recording and touring Smart Casual was our John Hughes coming-of-age era and its hard to believe its been 15 years. Getting back together with the boys in a room and celebrating those songs that carry so much meaning for us has been such a privilege and its been so humbling reading and speaking to people who have an affinity to those songs.”

The album, due to be re-released in October, will be remixed and remastered and will be followed by a headlining tour-the band hitting incredible venues such as the O2 Forum in Kentish Town London and the O2 Academy Bristol before ending the run with a show in their home city of Cardiff. The band themselves are clearly relishing the prospect of returning to the road, saying, “we really can’t wait to hit the road this October and return to some much loved corners of the UK.”

The Welsh melodic rockers have unveiled a new video for Peace, taken from upcoming album of the same name, due for release at the end of this month.

Peace is very much a classic Kids In Glass Houses track. Big poppy melodies, a dashing of post-hardcore before building up to a massive climax that would leave Ron Jeremy jealous. The video follows the story of a group of three people, two lads one lass. One’s romantically involved with the girl, while the other yearns to be. I think you can guess where this is going, but it all finishes a little bit heated.

It is the second single to be taken from Peace, following the release of Drive in June. Judging by the tracks that we’ve already heard, it can’t be too long before Kids In Glass Houses become the titans of Welsh rock, a fiercely competitive title.

Kids In Glass Houses go on a mammoth tour in support of Peace, which is released September 30th, this September and October. Dates are below.

Wednesday 2nd – Electric Ballroom, London
