The gold truck was spotted in Los Angeles, bearing the inscription, ‘Katy Perry: Prism: 10:22:13’. This has been presumed to refer to the title of her next album, which will be the first since ‘Teenage Dream’ in 2010.

The singer acknowledged the truck on her Twitter profile, stating: ‘Find the #PRISM semi, take a picture and I’ll RT you. Don’t worry, Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map.’

Much has changed since 2001, when Perry, under her real name Katy Hudson, released her debut, a simple album of gospel music. After changing her name to avoid confusion with actress Kate Hudson, she shot to fame in 2008 after singing something about kissing a girl and liking it.

The announcement of the new album coincides with the release of ‘The Smurfs 2’ on July 31st, in which Perry voices the iconic female cartoon character, Smurfette.

Two song titles from the upcoming album have been confirmed by Perry, ‘Double Rainbow’ and ‘Bad Photographs’.
