The re-release will be made of two editions with the 1LP pressed on white vinyl and including bonus track ‘Take My Temperature’. The 2LP will feature 15 additional tracks including a selection of B-Sides and CD single bonus tracks as well as 2 previously unreleased songs, exclusive to the format.

Alongside the original album, the 3CD set will have 40 added tracks which will include demo recordings, remixes, radio sessions and live tracks.

‘Employment’ which came out in 2005, was the album to bring songs such as ‘I Predict A Riot’, ‘Oh My God’ and ‘Everyday I Love You Less And Less’ to the forefront. The album was remastered at iconic Abbey Road Studios, the band commented: “20 years ago, a brand-new song by a brand-new band was released. ‘I Predict A Riot’ was the start of something really special for some musicians from Leeds. And the album that followed, ‘Employment’, changed our lives and has soundtracked the lives of millions of others since 2005. In 2025 we are saluting 20 years of that album and everyone is invited. Come celebrate the 2000’s, loving everything less and less and stripey blazers taking over the world..”

Two years ago, on the 18th anniversary of the release, singer Ricky shared with Virgin Radio: “I mean, I don’t think I’ve changed too much. I do get a Hello Fresh box, and I brush my teeth at least twice a day, but apart from that, I haven’t changed at all. I promise you that!”

‘Employment’ peaked at number 2 on the UK Albums Chart. It spent over 17 months in the Official Top 40 and was eventually certified 7× Platinum.

The 2025 lineup boasts an impressive selection of UK talent, ranging from legendary bands to contemporary stars. While no major UK solo artists are confirmed as of now, announcements are still being made and updates may follow as the festival approaches.

Glass Animals are a British indie rock band from Oxford, formed in 2010. Known for their dreamy, experimental sound and lush production, they blend indie rock with elements of electronic, R&B, and psychedelic pop. The band gained international fame with their chart-topping hit ‘Heat Waves’ from their album ‘Dreamland’ (2020). The song peaked at #5 on the UK Singles Chart, making it one of the band’s highest-charting songs in their home country.

The British indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs is known for their energetic performances and catchy anthems, they gained fame with hits like ‘Ruby’, ‘I Predict a Riot’, and ‘Oh My God’. Their music blends indie rock, Britpop, and post-punk revival styles. Their hit ‘Ruby’ debuted at #1 on the UK Singles Chart, becoming the Kaiser Chiefs’ first and only UK chart-topper. The band has recently announced a series of outdoor shows to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their debut album ‘Employment’.

Another exciting band on the lineup are The Wombats. The Liverpool indie rock band is known for their infectious energy, witty lyrics, and danceable tunes. They gained fame with hits like ‘Let’s Dance to Joy Division’, ‘Moving to New York’, and ‘Greek Tragedy’. The band currently has a new album on the way, ‘Oh! The Ocean’, which is set to release on February 14, 2025. The band has so far described ‘Oh! The Ocean’ as their most ambitious album to date, blending their trademark upbeat sound with darker, introspective undertones.

Aside from these indie rock bands, the Mad Cool Festival will also host Bloc Party, a band formed in London in 1999, which blends post-punk revival with alternative and electronic elements. The lineup is rich with other American music acts scheduled such as Olivia Rodrigo, Kings of Leon, Foster The People, and Iggy Pop as the headliners.

The 2025 edition will host over 60 artists across multiple stages, offering an unforgettable experience for music lovers. Mad Cool also places a strong emphasis on eco-friendly practices, making it a favourite for environmentally conscious attendees. Whether you’re a fan of indie rock, electronic beats, or just want to experience a world-class festival, Mad Cool 2025 promises to be a must-attend event with tickets to be found through their official website.

Employment was released in March 2005 and met instant critical acclaim and commercial success, earning seven-times Platinum status. Singles including ‘I Predict A Riot’, ‘Oh My God’, ‘Everyday I Love You Less and Less’, and ‘Modern Way’ became staples of a 2000s British indie scene and laid the groundwork for the band’s sound, borrowing both from britpop and post-punk, and characterised by laddy vocal deliveries and kitchen sink lyrical realism.

The album has also held up through multiple retrospective revisits by critics, with The Boar’s Charlie Peters praising its longevity on its fifteenth anniversary in 2015. “Employment easily holds up as one of the finest records of its kind. Other band’s of the era would kill for a tune as instant and catchy as ‘Saturday Night’, let alone the iconic ‘I Predict a Riot’, ‘Oh My God’, ‘Everyday I Love You Less and Less’ and ‘Modern Way’ which make up a killer quartet of radio cuts,” Peters wrote, adding: “The album reaches its highest point with the sublime ‘You Can Have It All’, a glorious, soaring ballad that marries drummer Nick Hodgson’s Pet Sounds-harmonies with one of frontman Ricky Wilson’s more charming vocal performances to magnificent effect.”

In a statement on their website about the album’s anniversary, the band remarked on the profound impact of their debut record, saying: ” 20 years ago, a brand new song by a brand new band was released. ‘I Predict A Riot’ was the start of something really special for some musicians from Leeds. And the album that followed, Employment, changed our lives and has soundtracked the lives of millions of others since 2005. In 2025 we are saluting 20 years of that album and everyone is invited. Come celebrate the 2000’s, loving everything less & less and stripey blazers taking over the world. See you all next year.”

The concert in Leeds will feature an slate of supporting acts from the mid-2000s indie scene, including Razorlight performing in celebration of their own debut album, Up All Night, also released 20 years ago. Other artists scheduled to join the line-up include The Coral and American indie rock band We Are Scientists, who will also honour the 20th anniversary of their debut album, With Love And Squalor.”

” As well as marking one of the great eras of British indie music, the band will also be keeping one eye on the future, inviting two of the most exciting new indie artists in the UK to open the day; Hastings trio HotWax and West Yorkshire’s own Ellur,” the release continues.

Tickets for the 2025 tour will go on sale here on November 8 at 9 AM, with fans encouraged to secure their attendance at what is anticipated to be a significant series of concerts celebrating a pivotal release in British rock history.

Kasabian has announced an exciting homecoming show for their fans. The renowned indie rock group, comprised of Serge Pizzorno, Chris Edwards, Ian Matthews, and Tim Carter, is well-known for delivering unforgettable performances, and their upcoming homecoming show will be no exception. In addition to this exciting news, the band has also confirmed that their highly anticipated album, Happenings, will be released next summer.

Dubbed as Summer Solstice II, Serge and his bandmates will grace the stage at Leicester’s Victoria Park, captivating an audience of 38,000 music enthusiasts. This marks their return to the public space in their hometown after a decade since their last headline performance. The announcement has sent fans into a frenzy, with social media buzzing with excitement.

Following the tremendous success of their previous album, The Alchemist’s Euphoria, which reached Number One last summer, there are no indications that Kasabian will be slowing down anytime soon.

An electric show is not the only thing that fans can expect from the Kasabian lads. They have also announced that the Kaiser Chiefs will be joining them as a support act, with more acts to be announced later. Although their last headline performance at Victoria Park was ten years ago, the rockers performed a secret set at the venue in 2016 to celebrate Leicester City winning the Premier League.

Serge, speaking about the show, expressed the significance of creating lasting memories and experiences. He emphasized the impact of witnessing such an event in one’s hometown, with the sound, noise, and music etching unforgettable memories in one’s mind. Serge believes that these memories are what people carry with them when reflecting on their lives. He emphasised the importance of attending the gig, stating that it is an experience that cannot be missed. He said, “Seeing something like this in your hometown, you know – the sound, the noise, the music – those memories, that’s what you take with you when you look back on your life and it’s like, you’ve gotta be there, you can’t miss it, you can’t let this happen and not be at that gig, you know? It’s creating those moments and doing it where you’re from and inspiring the next wave, hopefully, of young kids in Leicester seeing it happen and then them starting a band, that’s kind of what it’s all about.”

Chris, on the other hand, highlighted the significance of this show being a decade after their first one. He expressed that it has always been their desire to do it again and to give back to the city. As there is no large arena in Leicester, this show serves as their arena, where big shows happen. Chris considers it a privilege to be able to perform in their hometown once more. He said,“It’s 10 years after the first one, it’s something we’ve always wanted to do again, and it’s something that we can give back to the city. There’s no big arena in Leicester, so this is our arena. This is where the big shows happen. And so to be able to do it again is just a privilege.”

The fan pre-sale will begin at 9.30am on December 7, followed by the general sale on Friday, December 8 at 9.30. You can find tickets here.

World famous British band Kaiser Chiefs delighted fans recently with the news of their upcoming eighth studio album. The band, fronted by ex The Voice judge Ricky Wilson, are due to drop the highly anticipated album, titled Kaiser Chiefs’ Easy Eighth Album, on March 1st 2024. You can pre-order or pre-save the LP here.

The new album, produced by Amir Amor of Drum & Bass band Rudimental, will feature the band’s two previously released singles “Jealousy” and “How 2 Dance”. In addition to this, the “Love’s Not A Competition” singers dropped a brand new track today (October 25) featuring none other than musical legend Nile Rodgers.

When speaking about how the new track, titled “Feeling Alright”, Ricky Wilson said “On the first day with Nile Rodgers, he said, ‘What have you got?’ We searched through some jams we had and this was a song that stood out to him. The band loved playing it round and round, and it must be fun to play but we never really knew where it would find a home. Nile turned out to be the best estate agent and found it a home almost immediately. He also brought in Amir, who turned out to be our housemate for the entire record. A good place to start!”

“Nile Rodgers is a force to be reckoned with,” Ricky stated. “He does make you think about dancing quite a lot!
In 2017, Electric Group bought the site’s freehold and announced their plans to evict the current management in order to run the venue themselves under the name Electric Sheffield last year.

Artists and gig-goers alike have been quick to support the preservation of the current managers of The Leadmill on social media. Last year when the landlords announced their plans to evict the organisers, Yorkshire band Kaiser Chiefs took to Twitter writing, “We played The Leadmill in our early days and not only do we have very fond memories, it really helped us, too. It would be a huge loss not just for Sheffield and Yorkshire, but the whole UK music scene.”

Sheffield’s own Arctic Monkeys have previously shown their support for the venue by launching a Crowdfunder campaign to help with funding in 2020.
Last year, Music Venue Trust launched a new initiative to protect, secure, and improve UK music venues.

The former flour mill has a long history of hosting gigs having once been the Esquire in the 1960s where the Small Faces and Jimi Hendrix played. The live music venue and nightclub first opened its doors as The Leadmill in 1980 and has since hosted artists including Pulp, Coldplay, The Stone Roses, Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon, The Killers, and Oasis. To celebrate its 40th anniversary back in 2021, the venue released a limited edition red vinyl compilation album featuring tracks from the likes of The Orielles, Enter Shikari, and Bedroom High Club.

It’s time to get rid of Kaiser Chiefs catchy lines out of your head. Because it is just about to be replaced by a new set of unforgettable melodies. The 00’s rock leaders have come through to plunge a new single on us. Their bubbled pop song “Jealousy” was released earlier today.

The tune comes to say its fellow greetings today as the second release of their, hopefully soon to be announced, album release. It comes after the first drop of the LP “How 2 Dance”, released late last year (2022). A song admittedly inspired by a session the band had a while ago with Nile Rogers. “Nile Rodgers is a force to be reckoned with” they admit, “He does make you think about dancing quite a lot! He’s an amazing man to write songs with.”

“Jealousy”, as well as the upcoming album from the English rock band, has been the collaborative outcome from Amir Amor’s (member of Rudimental) production input. And co-written by the songwriter genius Henry Tucker, the Leeds based producer Lewis Thompson and RISC.

Kaiser Chiefs frontman, Ricky Wilson, has announced that we should be expecting the release of said album this year. However, even though it the date will be creeping up on us and two pre releases have been offered, they still have not unveiled the name of said project. It is how you master the art of creating suspense for an exciting piece of news. What we do know about the disc is that it comes as a follow up from their last album release Duck from 2019 as their seventh studio album.

The band will be performing their new songs during their tour this summer. A scattered tour with performances in the UK and dotted locations around Europe. They have a couple of shows before they officially kick off next month in Cornwall. On the 15th April they will be playing in London at Dingwalls. On the 13th May they will be performing at Perranporth Beach and make their way through Bridlington, Santiago de Compostela, Lytham St Annes, Greenwich, Benicàssim, Ludlow, Warwick, Galway, Penrith, Stoke-On-Trent and finally finish in Saltash, once again in Cornwall, on the 25th of August.

It’s a catchy tune, not dissimilar to the rest of the bands discography. They believe this new episode of music to be a fun one to dance to. As a follow up of Duck, expect another batch of pop-dance music instead of their older alternative indie approaches. Get your tickets whilst they’re still available.

Sir Tom Jones, along with three prominent major artists: Nile Rogers, CHIC and Kaiser Chiefs are set to headline the highly anticipated concert at the new festival called Greenwich Summer Sounds, a celebration of the best music within the United Kingdom. This will take place between July 4-8. Along with special guest supporting acts and another headliner are to be revealed. In the meantime, tickets will go out on general sale on Monday 13 March at 10 am, which will be available here.

It’s time to soak up the soundwaves. Your summer plans have docked

Welsh legend Sir Tom Jones never fails to bring a crowd to their feet. He’s sold over 100 million albums worldwide and will perform hits from his vast back catalogue. Jones’s powerful baritone and commanding stage presence and iconic songwriting truly mark an unforgettable event.

Multi-Grammy Award-winning legendary producer Nile Rogers will perform at the Greenwich Summer Sounds before Sir Tom Jones will be the closing act. He is famed for his work as the frontman and producer of the funk/disco group CHIC, who will also perform at the festival. He is well known for producing big hits for artists including David Bowie, Madonna and many more. He is recognised as one of the most influential figures in contemporary music and will perform classics from his extensive discography.

Next act to perform after Nile Rogers will be none other than Kaiser Chiefs. The five-piece band are quite known for their energetic live shows, wittiness, often political takes and lyricism, and have achieved 5 UK top 10 albums since their formation in 2002. With an extensive back catalogue, the Kaiser Chiefs will surely bring the house down with their powerhouse of a performance.

The festival will be run by IMG, who are behind The Big Festival, Hampton Court Palace Festival, Taste of London and Hyde Park Winter Wonderland. Matthew Mees, chief executive of Old Royal Naval College said, “We’re delighted to welcome such an incredible line-up of artists to perform at the Old Royal Naval College. It’s truly a magnificent venue for concertgoers to enjoy open-air music on a summer’s evening next to the river across London. Greenwich Summer Sounds is set to be a spectacular event in a beautiful and historic setting.”

Nile Rogers, alongside CHIC, will be the opening act for the performance on July 4, and Sir Tom Jones will be the closing act on July 6. Kaiser Chiefs will take over on July 8. Greenwich Summer Sounds would be perfect for a Saturday night out. With three major artists as the highlight of the festival, this is one occasion that music lovers won’t want to miss.

Kaiser Chiefs have issued a surprise triple-bill of covers of The Power of Love for Valentine’s Day. In a series of videos released via YouTube, the band provided their own take on three very different identically-titled tracks: Frankie Goes To Hollywood’s 1984 baroque pop chart-topper; Jennifer Rush’s epic romantic tearjerker from the same year; and Huey Lewis and the News’ Back To The Future pop-rock fist-pumper.

In a post on the Kaiser Chiefs’ Instagram account accompanying their rendition of Rush’s classic hit – which has also been covered by the likes of Celine Dion, Laura Branigan and Air Supply in the past – the group wrote: “They say that good things come in threes, so here is the final instalment in The Power Of Loves trilogy. Some might say THE definitive trilogy.”

The Yorkshire indie-rockers – named in recognition of the South African football club associated with Leeds United legend Lucas Radebe – first burst onto the scene in 2004 with two memorably chaotic singles, Oh My God and I Predict A Riot. The following year their debut LP Employment reached number #2 in the UK Albums chart; eventually shifting over 2 million copies and winning an Ivor Novello award. Its 2007 follow-up Yours Truly, Angry Mob topped the albums chart, and spawned the group’s only number #1 single to date in Ruby.

The Leeds outfit would go on to release two more gold-certified records in Britain (2008’s Off With Their Heads and 2014’s Education, Education, Education & War), albeit with less of a reliance on the flamboyant singalong choruses that powered their earlier successes in the singles chart. Their last charting single was the melodic Coming Home, released back in February 2014. Since then the band have also supplemented their musical output through an eclectic range of means; including a successful commercial partnership with Yorkshire Tea and frontman Ricky Wilson undertaking a stint as a judge on The Voice UK from 2014-2016.

The group’s seventh and most recent LP, Duck, reached number #3 in the UK Albums Chart in 2019 and received broadly positive feedback from fans and critics. The NME‘s Andrew Trendell wrote: “They’re not Arctic Monkeys and unlikely to make a mind-blowing concept record about living on the moon. They won’t follow in The Killers’ footsteps and headline Glastonbury. But while Kaisers have never changed the world, they’re certainly going to remain very much a part of it.”

The disruption of the pandemic has resulted in a relatively quietly year-and-a-half for the Kaiser Chiefs; though there was a Halloween single for fans to enjoy last year in the form of the madcap Zombie Prom. The vaudevillian five-piece – whose reputation was forged in part by their energetic live shows – have spoken of their desire to get back on the road. In an interview with The Sportsman, bassist Simon Rix said: “I miss gigs. We did two socially-distanced gigs in September and it was weird, cars in the field stuff. It was great to get up and play as that’s part of me, you don’t realise it’s such an important thing. I feel sorry for people who have just released their first album; this is it, this was their moment. If this happened to us in 2005, my entire life would be different.“
