The masked rapper from South London released his fourth mixtape, No Magic today (June 28) accompanied by visuals for his single ‘Big Mood’. The 11-track mixtape includes cameos from Headie One and Donae’o, the minimal feature count allows K-Trap to display his talent without relying on aid.

No Magic follows on from his 2018 mixtape The Re-Up. Here, K-Trap exhibits his growth as an artist, proving his ability to ride a wide range of beats without compromising his drill flow. The track ‘Change’ delivers conscience lyrics over a Black Eyed Peas-esque melody, providing an insight to a different side of the rapper. He hasn’t disappointed his drill fans either, with ‘No Caller’ bringing punchy baselines and a jumpy flow with an abundance of metaphors.

After two years of concealing his identity, K-Trap has decided to allow the public to witness the man behind the mask. ‘Big Mood’ speaks on his sought after lavish lifestyle, it’s the second single released off the mixtape and includes upbeat production with a dance vibe. The visuals are set in a traditionally designed mansion where we’re introduced to a masked K-Trap sitting in a Scarface styled office, this soon changes as he rips off his balaclava preparing himself for the rebrand.

When asked about his trademark balaclava in an interview with Trench Magazine last year, K-Trap stated: “Regardless of my initial reasons for wearing the mask, I wore it because I wasn’t sure if I was gonna take music seriously.” After recently signing with Black Butter Records, home to artists such as J Hus and Octavian, we can be assured that K-Trap now has a firm foot in the music industry.
