Joanna Noëlle Levesque known for her music career as JoJo is an R & B American singer, songwriter, and actress who began her musical career at the age of 13. The singer was discovered by Vincent Herbert from Blackground Records whilst on the television show America’s Most Talented Kids in 2003. Herbert requested for the singer to audition for his record label and the rest is musical history. The musician’s debut album release JoJo (2004) was well received and reached number 22 in the UK Official Albums Charts. The singer’s debut hit single “Leave (Get Out)” from the album achieved worldwide critical and commercial success. The musician went on to release hit singles “Too Little Too Late” (2006) from her second album The High Road (2006). The single “Anything” (2007) also from the album reached number 21 in the UK Official Singles Charts and remained in the charts for 3 consecutive weeks.

The singer severed ties with Blackground Records in 2014 amidst a long 10-year battle and has re-released both of her albums Jojo and Take The High Road for old and new followers. The musician’s tour will reflect her latest album Trying Not To Think About It. The album was released on October 1st and according to the singer addresses her personal elements of depression, negative thoughts, relationship self-sabotage, emotional immaturity and anxiety. In a recent interview, the singer said ” “I wanted to have something that would be a time capsule of what depression feels like for me, what anxiety feels like for me”

The musician said that she felt so lost and scared at the end of 2020 and released the album in a bid to find her light again. The singer assured her followers that they are not alone and said of her new music “If you listen, I hope this project makes you feel seen, validated, not crazy, and hopeful that you won’t feel bad forever. “You’re more in control than you think” The album has been described as the singer’s rawest, cohesive, elegant, deliberate and defined music project to date.

To mark the album’s release the musician embarked on the Trying Not To Think Abut It tour and performed for six dates in the US from October 2nd-October 11th. The musician released her first single from the album “Worst (I Assume)” on August 20th and said of her intimate tour “To have the audience singing back the lyrics of this new music was just so special and so affirming and gratifying.

Joanna Noëlle Levesque, who decides to go by the stage name JoJo, is a 29-year-old R&B vocal powerhouse from the states. The singer rose to ultimate stardom when she was only 13 with “Leave (Get Out)”, the smash single from her eponymous debut album released in 2004. The track skyrocketed to number 2 on the UK Singles Chart, followed by “Baby It’s You“, the second single that peaked at number 8 on the chart.

After breaking out into the music scene with such impressive achievements and vocal talent, JoJo returned with “Too Little Too Late” in 2006. Cut off her sophomore album The High Road, the track again climbed up to number 4 on the single chart and became one of the songstress’s classics, as it sold more than 400,000 copies and was certified gold by BPI.

Despite achieving many successes in music from a string of smash singles and two studio albums, the singer underwent legal battles with her former record label Blackground Records. After releasing The High Road, the singer was trying to drop the third album, but the label—according to JoJo—had been neglecting her attempt to do so. In 2009, she filed a lawsuit against Da Family Entertainment/Blackground for putting her into musical limbo.

While being trapped in the contract with Blackground, JoJo still kept on making music and released two mixtapes: Can’t Take That Away from Me (2010) and Agápē (2012). In 2013, the singer and the label finally reached agreement outside court, and she then signed a new contract with Atlantic Records, which subsequently helped her release Mad Love. in 2016. The album received moderate success with singles like “Fuck Apologies.“, “FAB.“, and “Music.”

This year, the singer has finally returned with new music and new tour under a new label. Sometime in this spring, JoJo will drop her fourth LP titled Good to Know via her own label Clover Music in a joint deal with Warner Records. “Sabotage” is the first taste into the forthcoming record. The song showcases JoJo’s growth into artistry and signature vocal talent as usual.

In September, JoJo will land in UK soil for her first tour in over three years since the promotion of Mad Love. in 2017. The UK leg will kick off on September 2 in Glasgow, followed by four more shows in big cities. See the tour dates below, and prepare for the tickets which are available this Friday.
