On Tuesday, she posted on her Instagram Stories, writing, “This is an honest story post that will get blown up I’m sure. But who cares. As truthfully in a world full of ‘everything is fine, I’m happy, I’m good, life is perfect’ there is grief hurt pain sadness heartbreak and reflection and processing happening this time of year for many of us, along side the good and great or on its own.”

She continued writing, “This year has been heavy and hard in many ways for all of us, for me personally one of the hardest but most magical years of my life. Personally and professionally. But all the sadness has come up this week, it’s the first time I’ve stopped (working and being in public in months) So I’m crying a lot. Writing shit down feeling really low tbh. The lowest I have felt in a while.”

She added that she was experiencing an “accumulation of stuff just making its way to the surface” and she was choosing to “let it out”. She said, “Don’t hold it in people. We are not superhuman or meant to be happy and positive all the time. It’s healthy and normal to cry”. She concluded by saying, “Sending love to anyone feeling this way too right now. No positive end to this. Just I’m with ya. It’s shit sometimes.”

Her sixth studio album ‘Don’t Tease Me With A Good Time’ was released in November, including singles such as ‘No Secrets’, ‘Living My Best Life’, ‘H.A.P.P.Y.’ and ‘I’ll Never Know Why’.

Last night, she ended 2025 by performing on Jools Holland’s Hootenanny on BBC Two, where Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, Olivia Dean, Lulu, Craig David, Heather Small, The Kooks, Imelda May, Joe Webb, David Hermlin, and Ruby Turner also played.

She is set to play Victorious Festival in Portsmouth this year, and will join Lily Allen and Scissor Sisters in London in May at the Mighty Hoopla.

The BRIT Award winner will release this album, making it her first project in almost eight years.

Recorded over five years ago in Los Angeles, the 16-track album features collaborations with hitmakers such as Ryan Tedder, Jesse Boykins III, Los Hendrix, and Marty Maro.

Standout singles on the album include ‘Believe In Magic’, ‘No Secrets’, and ‘Living My Best Life’.

The album closes with ‘The Award Goes To’, a ballad which Jessie J debuted earlier this year at the BAFTAs.

Speaking about the album, Jessie J said: “It’s been eight years since my last body of work. I am so overjoyed this is finally being shared with the world, working with people so special and fun like Ryan Tedder and Jesse Boykins’s, los hendrix and Marty Maro.”

“This music is so layered and stretched over so many emotional and celebratory years of my life. Crossing many genres and feelings.”

“The songs are a journey of grief to joy. Finding the light, and life after loss. A journey so many of us go through and I hope these songs can hold the hand of anyone in need of a soundtrack to a good or bad time, I love making music I love sharing, I love connecting.”

“I love an adventure. Don’t tease me with a good time.”

The announcement follows after her return to the stage at Radio 2 In The Park, her first live performance since recovering from breast cancer.

The singer revealed this summer that she underwent surgery for breast cancer.

She will embark on a rescheduled UK and European leg of her tour next year. The rescheduled dates for the UK start in Birmingham April 7 and end in Glasgow April 14.

The singer, who often refers to herself as an Essex girl, took the stage at ‘BBC Radio 2 In The Park’ in an emotional return to performing. This is all in the face of an ongoing battle with cancer and a second surgery scheduled this Autumn.

The Daily Mail reported that addressing a packed crowd she said “I’m just so grateful to be here, you have no idea how grateful I am to see so many of you singing along after all these years.”

“Life is about standing in the storm but holding up your umbrella and just keep moving forward.”

“We never know when our last day will be, so soak this up, hug the people you love hard.”

As well as this, the day was special for the singer for another reason. It was the first time her son witnessed her sing on stage. 2 year old Sky was backstage for the gig. On such a monumental occasion, it is a wonder how she managed to stay professional and deliver a wonderful show, but that is a testament to her determination and grit.

At the end of August the singer-songwriter announced that she would be postponing the UK and European dates for her acoustic tour due to start next month. In an Instagram post she explained: “Unfortunately I have to have a second surgery — nothing too serious but it has to be done by the end of this year,” Jessie, 37, said. This falls in the middle of the tour I had booked. I’m so sorry, I feel frustrated and sad, but I need to be better, I need to be healed.”

The tour which was set to take place in October 2025, is now scheduled for June next year. The dates are as follows:

In an Instagram post, the pop powerhouse vocalist thanked her doctor, surgeon and nurses who helped her in hospital. She also shared images and videos from her time there, alongside her partner, basketball player Chanan Colman, and their son.

In her caption, she wrote: “This post is some of the honest lows and highs of the last 48 hours. I will always show the good and hard bits of any journey I go through.” She then sent a positive message to her followers, saying “Still hugging everyone going through something tough right now. We all got this!”

The singer revealed her breast cancer diagnosis at the beginning of June in a social media post. At the time, she said she’d start surgery after her performance at Capital’s Summertime Ball at London’s Wembley Stadium on June 15. Other acts to play at the mini-festival included Mariah Carey, Will Smith, Jade, Benson Boone, JLS, and Busted and McFly.

After revealing her diagnosis earlier in June, Jessie said she wanted to share the news publicly rather than privately, in order to show solidarity with others going through hard times, and also to help her process it.

The ‘Price Tag’ singer also took a moment during her Summertime Ball performance to list all the things she’s grateful for, and share a positive message with the audience about her upcoming surgery.

She announced: “Summertime Ball, today this show is my last show before I go and beat breast cancer,”

“So it’s so special to be here, you have no idea. I feel so proud to be from the UK and to be this honest person – we just say what we feel. With this being my last show before I go and have surgery, it’s the most special thing and I’m so grateful for this life, for you guys, for my career, for my son, my partner, my parents, my family, my band, my crew, my people.”

Since her surgery, there’s been a swell of support and kind messages from fans and figures in the entertainment industry.

TV presenter Gaby Roslin commented on Jessie’s post: “Sending you strength, energy and so much love you beautiful soul.”

Marvin Hume from JLS also sent his best wishes to the singer: “I know Sky will be keeping you smiling and giving you strength… You’re an absolute warrior,”

Jessica Ellen Cornish known as Jessie J is a singer and songwriter who came to the attention of the musical world with her single release “Do It Like A Dude” in 2011 and is known for her popular single “Price Tag”. The musician has penned songs for Chris Brown and Miley Cyrus and the release of her first album “Who You Are” provided her with further acknowledgement of her music writing skills. The singer went on to release the hit single “Who You Are” from the album as well as singles, “Nobody’s Perfect”, “Domino” and “Laserlight”.

The singer’s success continued with the release of a further four albums Alive, Sweet Talker, R.O.S.E and This Christmas Day. Details of the new album announcement arrive following the singer’s reports that she would be delaying the release of her new album due to a mystery illness. It would appear that the singer is back on top form with the news of her new album release. It has also been said that the material on the musician’s new album, is from a personal place following her publicised split with the actor Channing Tatum. The singer said of her upcoming album “There’s a lot of honesty in there, because obviously I’ve lived a lot of life that people want to know about”

The musician announced on Capital FM last month that the first single release from her new album is to be a personal break-up song. The singer elaborated further and said “The first song is about being in a relationship and someone just dismissing it,’ she explained. ‘You know, when you go through a breakup and someone is like, “OK, bye”

The singer has also been a coach on the music show The Voice UK for two seasons from 2012-2013, she also worked as a coach on The Voice Australia from 2014-2015 and The Voice Kids UK in 2019. The musician also won the Chinese singing contest show Singer in 2018. The singer has also collaborated with Ariane Grande and Nicky Minaj for their global smash hit single “Bang Bang”. The single was featured on the musician’s 2014 Sweet Talker and the deluxe version of Grande’s 2014 My Everything album and reached number one in the UK Charts.

The singer’s last musical outing was with her single release “I Want Love” on June 18th. The singer has not yet announced the title of her new album or provided a release date and looks set to light up the musical world once again with the release of her new album.

 In a teary Instagram post of the artist softly singing her latest track, accompanied by a series of stories, Jessie J has opened up about her struggle with the nodules for the past four to five months, which has meant she has had to refrain from singing and talking. The 33-year-old wrote: “I want to start by explaining this video. I was asked to send a speech therapist a video of me singing something quietly, so she could hear my voice.” 

 She continued: “The first song I sang was I want love. Just hearing myself sing it and feel so vulnerable whilst singing bought me to tears. I have never ever to this day (since recording it) been able to to sing it because of the pain I am experiencing. Man it’s been hard not singing. It’s literally my life line and my happiness. Being quiet is not something I’m good at. Or makes me feel like myself. Lord knows I’m loud af.”

Jessie explained how she is “still in the same pain every day” despite varying treatments in a series of Instagram stories that followed the video. She stated that although the nodules have “melted away, “ doctors advised that they will return if she continues to sing. However, even with the “agony,” she still pushed for her latest record, believing it was important to give her fans new music. Concluding her posts positive that she will “find the reason to all of this.” She said: “I don’t always get it out but I am honest and I hope you can respect that. Love you all… Stress will only make it worse. And speaking my truth since I was a little girl helps with my stress of anything.”

The London singer has also revealed the inspiration behind her latest track and video: “I had an argument with a bf once after a major red carpet. I went to a bar where I didn’t know anyone and I danced alone until sunrise. I took a shot with strangers and I talked to myself in the mirror in the bathroom. My tough exterior that I so often use as a defense mechanism went away, my heart softened. My fear left the room and I just let go. That’s what this song this video means and represents to me. A simple moment in time. Where I just let go in the REAL world. It’s where I like to be. I like to face life head and heart on. I don’t live in a fantasy,” she wrote on Instagram. Continuing, ” I wanted this video to feel like I felt like that night. I’m so grateful (and honestly intensely emotional) that you can all finally see it and Channel this same energy in your own lives in your own way.“

After recently resurfacing into public consciousness as a result of an online row with Miley Cyrus, Sinead O’Connor will return later this year with what will be her 10th studio album. Though originally thought to be entitled ‘The Vishnu Room‘, this new title suggests that O’Connor will be fighting back against her critics and attempting to show the world that she’s truly back in charge.

The album’s cover-art, also released today, sees the singer take a leaf out of Jessie J’s book with a flat fringe and an outfit comprised of leopard print and leather. O’Connor seems to have ditched her well-known bald image with this new photo though her musical approach will surely be as feisty as ever.

Fans will have to wait to hear any snippets of the album as lead single ‘Take Me To Church‘ isn’t released until the same day as the album.

‘I’m Not Bossy, I’m The Boss‘ will be released on 11th August via Nettwerk Records.

The Irish singer announced his departure from the BBC musical talent show on Twitter today, stating;

‘I had two wonderful seasons on The Voice and as everybody knows I gave it my heart and soul and couldn’t be more proud of the show and what we have achieved. My focus will be on The Script moving forward as we are about to embark on the most important part of our career as a band’

O’Donoghue coached this years victor Andrea Begley to success, and was also the mentor for last years runner-up Bo Bruce, whose debut album, ‘Before I Sleep’ made the UK Album Chart top 10 in May – outselling the winner, Leanne Mitchell, whose self-titled debut achieved first-week sales of just under 900 copies. He is the second judge to quit the show, after Jessie J announced her departure earlier this month.

It is unknown whether the remaining judges, Sir Tom Jones and will.i.am will return for Season 3, as will.i.am stated previously that he would only return if the judging panel remained the same.
O Donoghue’s band, pop-rock outfit The Script recently finished the global tour for their third album, ‘#3’, and will be appearing at V Festival this August.
