The track blends the signature styles of both bands, creating a vibrant mix of catchy indie rock and heartfelt pop melodies. The track is The Kooks’ first release since their 2022 album, ’10 Tracks To Echo In The Dark’.

The ‘Naive‘ rockers said: “We’re so happy we got to collaborate on the track with lovelytheband, it’s been a beautiful experience. We hope you give it a spin, and connect with the track. And we look forward to bringing it on the road soon.”

“’Jeanie’ is about all the unknown legends. She’s not asking for forgiveness or appreciation from the world, just getting on everyday, looking after her people and living in the moment.”

“’Jeanie‘ lyrically mirrors my own journey chasing a dream of creating music for a living,” Mitchy Collins from lovelytheband said for NME, “The song serves as a reminder that you can create your own breaks. It’s an absolute pinch me moment for my band to be collaborating with The Kooks. They have had an influence on our songwriting and production since we began.”

The new track has so far reached 66 755 streams on Spotify and 2 000 views on Youtube. 

lovelytheband is an indie pop band formed in 2016 in Los Angeles that emerged in the mid-2010s, known for their emotional lyrics and catchy melodies. They gained attention with their breakout single, ‘broken’.

The Kooks are an indie rock band formed in Brighton, East Sussex, in 2004. Known for their blend of Britpop and indie rock influences, the band gained prominence in the mid-2000s. Their debut album ‘Inside In/Inside Out ‘ (2006) features hits like ‘Naive‘, ‘She Moves in Her Own Way‘, and ‘Seaside‘. Their second album, ‘Konk‘ (2008), continued their success with tracks like “Always Where I Need to Be‘ and ‘Sway‘.

The Kooks are finishing their South American tour in Paraguay today and have upcoming shows in Australia and New Zealand at the beginning of 2025. UK tour dates are yet to be announced by both of the bands.
