In a recent interview with Metro Newspaper, the British singer shared: “I am [excited]. It’s not all angsty, typical vocals you’d hear from me. It’s a bit more dreamy and that’s why the ‘Pisces’ name was a good marriage. Being a dreamer links well with the Pisces star sign. I’ve always resonated with my star sign.”

The singer has been looking forward to releasing some new music, especially after being rushed to the hospital back in 2023. The artist was in agony with kidney stones moments after his Pride of Britain Awards performance. Indeed, his latest album, ‘Bittersweet Love’ followed shortly after with single ‘ADHD’, which reflects on how his diagnosis has helped him.

With new single ‘Pisces’, the singer shared: “There’s been many times over the course of my life where I’ve lost the ability to live in the moment or I’ve been in a room full of people yet somehow I still felt alone. We’re always striving for more and we forget to exercise gratitude for the things that we do have or have achieved and therefore we fail to enjoy those special moments. People often tell me I should celebrate more but the truth is I’m not very good at it so I wrote this song about that very thing. I hope it makes you feel something.”

Currently on tour, the singer has big aspirations for his future and would love to play iconic festival Glastonbury. Talking with Female First, he mentioned a few of his favourite performance memories: “Last year I did Wembley and The O2 in the same week, I had a number one album and a sold-out world tour. I did a duet with Kelly Clarkson, who’s a legend. I’ve had a lot of success with a couple of songs, too. I’ve been lucky to play Wembley a few times as part of the Capital Ball but I’d love to headline there. And also get myself in contention for some awards.”

The ‘Impossible’ singer is set to play at Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust 2025 on March 26 alongside names like The Who and Sex Pistol.

The Who will perform two shows during the week, bringing their timeless hits to the historic venue. They rose to fame in the 1960s and are credited with helping shape the modern rock genre. They are best known for their album ‘Who’s Next‘ (1971), which includes classic tracks like ‘Baba O’Riley’ and ‘Behind Blue Eyes’. The band’s lead singer, Roger Daltrey, has also announced a tour for 2025, starting on April 20 in Brighton. A special collaboration between Frank Carter, Paul Cook, Steve Jones, and Glen Matlock brings together punk history with an explosive performance. This night promises to pay homage to the punk legends of the Sex Pistols, who were pivotal in shaping the British punk movement. Their participation adds a rebellious spirit to the 2025 lineup. The chart-topping singer-songwriter James Arthur will headline on Wednesday, March 26, offering an evening of his soulful melodies. The singer is most known for winning the ninth season of The X Factor UK in 2012, which catapulted him to fame. His debut single, ‘Impossible’, became a massive hit, topping the UK Singles Chart and selling over a million copies in the UK alone.The Corrs are known for their distinctive blend of pop, rock, and traditional Irish music. The band consists of four siblings, who are celebrated for seamlessly incorporating Celtic influences into mainstream pop music, creating a unique sound that resonates globally. This fusion helped them stand out in the 1990s and 2000s, bringing Irish music to an international audience. The Corrs’ biggest hit on the UK Singles Chart was ‘Breathless’, released in 2000. The song reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart and became one of their most iconic tracks.The Teenage Cancer Trust concerts have been a cornerstone in raising funds and awareness for young cancer patients, with all proceeds supporting the charity’s vital work. This year’s lineup continues the tradition of bringing together top-tier talent to make a meaningful impact. Tickets for these events will be available from midday on January 31, 2025 and can be purchased through the Royal Albert Hall’s official website.

On 7th June, local artists: Finn Forster, Spilt Milk, Lizzie Esau and Noyou will perform to Teesside University’s Students’ Union in a competition for opening slot at James Arthur’s huge show the following day. After their performances, James Arthur and Shakk, the new BBC Music Introduction presenter for Teesside, will choose who will be the opening act.

The concert is part of the singer’s Bitter Sweet Love tour, and there will be exciting guest performances from McFly and Lauran Hibberd.

It was Arthur’s family who chose the four finalists, and had the difficult task of choosing from over one hundred artists who entered the Road to the Riverside competition.

The competition was Arthur’s idea, however it has been organised by ‘Make A Scene’, a brand who promote independent and alternative rock across the North East. Arthur’s sister, Sian, told the BBC that he hopes to “give young bands and singers the chance to support him, to give back to the local community”. To be eligible to enter, all artists must be from the North East, allowing Arthur and attendees to reunite with Middlesborough’s music scene.

One of the final contestants, Spilt Milk, who are from James Arthur’s home town Redcar, spoke to the BBC about being in the final, saying winning would be a “dream come true”, adding that the crowds of Teesside have always given “great support” for them.

The festive concert is set to take place on Sunday November 21st 2021 at the magnificent London Palladium. Sande and Arthur will be joining the previously confirmed acts Will Young, Rag’n’Bone Man, Mica Paris and Jazz legend Jamie Cullum. The event will be presented by Harriet Scott and former Boyzone member Ronan Keating, the “Life Is A Rollercoaster” singer will also be joining the musical acts on stage. Scott and Keating announced the event’s new additions on Monday 8th November 2021 via an appearance on the ‘Magic Radio Breakfast Show’.

In other news, next week will see a possible return to the charts for Keating. The Irish singer’s new album Songs From Home is set to be released on 12th November 2021. The 44-year-old pop veteran has carefully chosen a dozen tracks that celebrate and honour his heritage. The release consists of the chosen twelve songs as well as one original recording. The album will be released via Deca Records, the British record label which has become an institution within the music industry after nearly a century in the business.

A press release for the album has given the following statement, “The album toasts Ronan Keating’s love for Irish music, as well as its continued significance in his life. Celebrating traditional poetry and folklore alongside contemporary pieces, ‘Songs From Home’ forms the ultimate soundtrack to Ronan’s personal story. Masterfully, Ronan weaves between unheard tales of his youth to artists embedded in Ronan, and Ireland’s, substantial musical heritage.”

The Dublin born singer’s new album features collaborations with many celebrated artists. On the track “No Frontiers”, Keating duets with Irish singer Mary Black. Black started her career in 1975 and has become a key figure and icon within the folk music genre. Within the album, Keating also pays homage to late American Irish singer Mic Christopher on the late singer’s track “Heyday”. Christopher is known for his solo work as well as the founding member of the band The Mary Janes, the group disbanded in 1999 after 9 years together.

The singer became a solo artist and his first solo EP Heyday was released after a motorcycle accident. In support of the new release, Christopher joined The Waterboys on tour in 2001. After a performance on tour, Christopher was found unconscious after he accidentally fell and struck his head on a step. The 32-year-old singer was taken to hospital but tragically lost his life after lapsing into a coma due to swelling in the brain. The album also features the track ”Summer In Dublin” which sees Keating reflect on the summer of 1990, an era which the singer remembers fondly, as it was just before Boyzone catapulted into fame.

The live performances will take place starting from 19th July 2021 within Grassroots music venues alongside the Music Venues Alliance, 19th July also marks the date in which the Government has issued for Grassroots music venues to fully reopen. The scheme’s tour entitled ‘The National Lottery’s Revive Live Tour’ boasts a roster of talented artists and promises over 300 live performances. The array of other music artists joining the pair on their crusade include English singer-songwriter James Arthur, Mahalia, 27-year-old singer Sam Fender and Irish post-punk band Fontaines DC. All artists involved in the ‘Revive Live’ scheme will be working alongside Music Venue Trust and the National Lottery. Both organisations founded the campaign to bring back lost revenue and to support new artists, musicians and the nation’s live music scene.

The National Lottery injected a sizeable donation of £1 million into the scheme which will cover all touring and production costs occurred during the tour and further events. The donation also means that with upfront costs already paid, the grassroots live music industry can start promoting and producing tours and live shows. Along with the donation to the scheme, the organisation is also offering 30,000 tickets for lottery and scratchcard players to win. The 30,000 tickets up to win will make up half of the tickets available, the other half will be on sale to the public.

Nigel Railton, the Chief Executive of National Lottery, part of the Camelot Group has spoken on the organisation’s excitement to be working with the Music Venue Trust within the scheme. “The National Lottery is very excited to be working with Music Venue Trust in what we believe is a truly ground-breaking initiative. The last year has been incredibly challenging for many industries and we hope The National Lottery’s Revive Live Tour will help kick start the return of grassroots live music. With every ticket having a built in plus-one, we hope The National Lottery can bring friends back together this summer to once again share the experiences we’ve all missed, while thanking players for the amazing things they make happen just by buying a ticket.”

Sir Tom Jones will be performing for a limited audience of 800 at one of the three performance spaces within the Cambridge Junction. Ran’n’Bone Man will play for an even smaller crowd of 250 ticket holders, the gig will take place in Kent. The venue, Tunbridge Wells Forum, is famed within the county as the performance space was once a public toilet.

The ‘Sex Bomb’ singer has spoken on how proud he is to be part of the scheme and the importance of the campaign. He also talks about how grassroots venues are a key part of a new artist’s career and states the importance of support for such venues. “Musicians can record in their bedrooms, but they can’t learn to perform in public without a place to play, without that, there is no way you can communicate directly to people. It’ll be tough to hone your skills and you’ll never have the thrill of feeling their feedback. Without a grassroots music venue, the neighbourhood won’t have a place where people can come together to discover and support a new talent”. So, support your local pub, club, gym or church or wherever someone has the guts to bring in some entertainment, it makes all the difference both to budding artists and the community, I’m delighted to be able to perform a special show as part of The National Lottery’s Revive Live Tour and to be celebrating the return of live music.”

Mark Dayvd, the CEO of Music Venue Trust has also provided the following statement concerning the new campaign. “It’s so important to get artists and crew back out and working, to get our grassroots music venues back up and running, and to get friends, families and communities back together enjoying live music. Grassroots music venues play a crucial role in the development of British music, nurturing local talent, providing a platform for artists to build their careers and develop their music and their performance skills, These venues also play a vital role in the cultural and economic vibrancy of any village, town or city. The National Lottery’s Revive Live Tour is a fantastic initiative which will kickstart the return of great events across the country. We can’t wait to get started!”

The Music Venue Trust has been combating the negative effects in which COVID-19 has held over live music and the industry itself since March 2020. They aim to safely reopen all venues using various campaigns and schemes. Their most successful campaign was # Save Our Venues, which saw support and money given to help infuse revenue and business into Grassroots venues. Now with the new scheme, tour of live performances and #ReviveLive, the trust is on a mission to bring live music back.

Lasting Lover came out earlier this month, on September 5th, and was met with a positive reception. The song was originally written by Lewis Capaldi who sent it over to the chart topping DK Sigala to work on. Sigala said that the song ‘came to [him] as a ballad, just like an acoustic song with just guitar and his voice on it. [He] worked on it a bit and got in touch with James from there just to see if he wanted to sing it. It’s really cool to have him involved.’

James Arthur, winner of X Factor 2012, is equally excited about the project. He ‘really enjoyed working with Sigala on this absolute banger‘, calling him a ‘real G‘. James Arthur, who usually performs acoustic ballads like Say You Won’t Let Go and Can I Be Him, recognises that Lasting Lover is a ‘change of direction’ for him.

The song opens with a sample from MGMT’s Time To Pretend, and is an upbeat dance track fitting for an Ibizan club. Arthur’s vocals surprisingly work perfectly with this, resulting in an ‘emotional club banger‘ that gets your feet moving. The release comes after a series of successful collaborations on Sigala’s part, showing his ability to blend his signature house/EDM beats with a range of vocals.

Arthur and Sigala were forced to work on Lasting Lover over Zoom because of Lockdown restrictions. Eventually, the pair met in real life on the set for the music video and luckily ‘got on just as well in real life’. The chemistry between them can be felt in their Britain’s Got Talent performance, which was seamless and energetic.

Arthur said he had ‘so much fun’ throughout the performance while Sigala thanked BGT for having them and stated that it ‘felt so so good to get back on stage performing’. Let’s hope that the pair have many more opportunities to play this banger live in the future!

‘Shine a Light’ was originally released by McFly in 2010 with Taio Cruz, and is a big hit with fans. It debuted at number 4 on the UK singles chart and sold over 51,000 copies. In the past, both Horan and Arthur have covered the song, with Horan most recently performing it on his Instagram Live in March.

McFly had planned to go on tour throughout spring and summer 2020, however the dates have been rescheduled due to Covid-19. The UK tour will now go ahead in October and November and, in the meantime, the band have been able to work on projects to entertain and support fans.

McFly recently worked on a cover of their song ‘All About You’, a charity video to raise money for the NHS. The video featured band members Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter, and Harry Judd along with their families who joined in. All royalties gained from the video will be donated to NHS Charities Together.

Niall Horan has also been involved in numerous projects to support people during this difficult time, running regular livestreams on Instagram, taking part in the ‘Together At Home’ campaign, and appearing in Julia Michaels’ cover video for Doctors Without Borders in America.
