The Punk inspired Hip-Hop duo Sleaford Mods have revealed the trailer for their new documentary, Invisible Britain.

The film, described as “part band doc, part look at the state of the nation”, will follow band members Jason Williamson and Andrew Fearn on their recent UK tour. True to the politically charged lyrical content of Sleaford Mods the film will take viewers to the more destitute and derelict parts of Britain, forgotten or ignored in a country in the throes of austerity.

Directed by Nathan Hannawin and Paul Sng, the film cites inspiraion from Patrick Keiller’s Robinson Trilogy, the wanderings of Iain Sinclair, and J.G. Ballard quote “The future is just going to be a vast, conforming suburb of the soul”.

The film promises a mix of live footage of the band, interviews with fans, and “a look at what individuals and communities are doing to resist so-called austerity measures.”

You can watch the trailer for Invisible Britain below:

Sleaford Mods recently performed at Banksy’s Dismaland. Dismaland is a month long art exhibition in the form of a theme park that primarily critiques capitalism and satirises Disneyland. Incidentally tying in with the themes of Sleaford Mod’s Invisible Britain, the exhibition is being held in Weston-Super-Mare – a neglected seaside town struggling because of the rise of cheap flights and dwindling interest in domestic tourism.
