Speaking directly to his fans, Capaldi said: “I have been diagnosed with Tourette’s. I wanted to speak about it because I didn’t want people to think I was taking cocaine or something.” He described the situation as “new” and said, “I haven’t really learnt much about it.” He revealed he has had Botox on his shoulder to help stop it from moving and that he is “learning new ways to cope all the time.” When speaking on the diagnosis he went on to say: “When they told me, “We think you’ve got Tourette’s”, I was like, “Do you know what, that makes so much sense”. When I look back at my interviews from 2018 I can see that I’m doing it.”

According to the NHS, Tourette’s syndrome usually starts during childhood and the tics and other symptoms usually improve after several years and sometimes go away completely. Lewis revealed that his tic affects his shoulder. “My shoulder twitches when I am excited, happy, nervous, or stressed, it is something I am living with. It’s not as bad as it looks,” he said, “It comes and goes. Sometimes I can go months without doing it. I thought I had some horrible degenerative disease so I’ll take Tourette’s.”

Capaldi isn’t the only pop star to reveal a Tourette’s diagnosis in recent months. Billie Eilish opened up about living with the condition during an interview with David Letterman for Netflix. “If you film me for long enough, you’re going to see lots of tics,” she said. “I don’t care. It’s really weird, I haven’t talked about it at all.

Capaldi spoke about his diagnosis following sold-out two nights at London’s O2 Arena. During the show he announced he would be releasing a new single ‘Forget Me’ which is due out on 9th September. He treated fans to a snipped of the new track during his second show in London. Capaldi shot to fame after his single ‘Someone You Loved’ became the best-selling single of 2019 in the UK. In May 2020, the song had become the longest-running top 10 UK single of all time by a British artist. ‘Forget Me’ is Lewis’ first release since his debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent spent 10 weeks at the top of the UK charts.

In total, the livestream lasted over two hours, and thousands tuned in to watch the young singer-songwriter play his original songs on the piano and chat to fans. Martin live-streamed from his home studio, performing two of his songs ‘Sparks’ and ‘Daddy’, as well as a cover of ‘Moon River’. Collier said of the experience “That was fun and pretty crazy,” later posting on Instagram that Martin was “stratospheric”.

Chris Martin was the first artist to hold a livestream for ‘Together At Home'; he has now put on two and taken part in the ‘One World: Together At Home’ broadcast, along with many others. The concert raised a total of $127 million for coronavirus relief.

Continuing the concert solo, Collier asked fans to comment requests which he would play on the spot. He even covered Coldplay songs ‘Fix You’ and ‘A Sky Full Of Stars’, putting his own jazz spin on them. Jacob Collier’s career began on YouTube and blew up in 2012 when he uploaded a cover of Stevie Wonder’s ‘Don’t You Worry ‘Bout A Thing’. He has now released two full length albums, ‘In My Room’, recorded in his bedroom at home, and ‘Djesse’, made up of four volumes – the first two volumes are already available and have won a Grammy each. Collier is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter.

The artist has been a part of many organisations to support Covid-19 relief or simply to help people to feel connected while in isolation. Apart from running live streams for fans and ‘Together at Home’, he recently recorded a COLORS session from his London home as well a Stream Aid performance of ‘Hallelujah’.

Coldplay’s latest album was released in November 2019 as a double album. ‘Everyday Life’ is their eighth studio album, and the eighth to debut at number 1 on the UK Albums Chart. Due to the environmental impact of touring, Martin announced prior to the album release that they would not be going on tour until they can find a way to make sure it’s not only sustainable, but beneficial. Founded in 1996, they hold a total of 9 Brit Awards and 7 Grammys and have sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making them one of the world’s best-selling artists. They are well-known for supporting social and political issues such as the climate crisis.

The band’s frontman explained what he was using to viewers, mentioning that most of his equipment was “trapped in America”. The set-up consisted of a mellotron, guitar, drum machine, bass guitar, and of course, his voice – he created the song by looping some sounds as he recorded since, sadly, his band members were all locked down in different cities.

In a previous post, Bayley asked fans for song suggestions, of which he received many, but the song he chose was Nirvana’s track ‘Heart-Shaped Box’. He wrote in a social media post “There were so many sick suggestions to choose from. I’m not going to tell you which I went with in the end…but its one of my fave songs of all time.”

Bayley mentioned in an Instagram post that he had been asked by followers to perform a concert via Instagram Live as other artists are doing, but he said that he wanted to record the song properly and people could watch in their own time. The video ran for just over seven minutes, but Bayley wrote that he feels fans should be focusing more on being there for friends, family, and neighbours than watching live-streams, saying “helping each other out is the most important thing we have right now.”

Uploaded to all social media as well as YouTube, the video has gained approximately 100,000 views on every platform. There is no clear date for when the next cover will be available, but the singer-songwriter asked for more song ideas for his next cover. Additionally, the music video for Glass Animals’ latest song ‘Your Love (Déjà Vu)’ was released yesterday, 25th March.

The band were on tour in the US at the beginning of March but were forced to cancel three shows on 12th, 14th, and 15th March due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Their next dates are scheduled in July, with show all the way until September, taking place in the US, UK and Europe. There is currently no information on whether these shows will go ahead or not, but fans will surely be updated as decision are made – keep up to date or purchase tickets on the band’s website.

Glass Animals is made up of Dave Bayley (lead vocals, guitar), Drew McFarlane (guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), Ed Irwin-Singer (bass, keyboards, backing vocals), and Joe Seaward (drums). They have released two studio albums in 2014 and 2016, currently working on their third. Bayley writes and produces all of their music himself, winning an MPG Award for both Self Producing Artist of the Year and UK Album of the Year. The band is known for their amazing live shows, in which they re-vamp their songs to make them more dance-heavy.
