Support for these gigs comes from the winners of a Battle of the Bands contest held by Bombay Bicycle Club. On their website they wrote, “we got our start playing Battle of the Bands events when we were teenagers. We wanted to offer a similar opportunity to the next generation of teenagers.”

The winners were West London band, Tight Lines, who will be supporting The Camden Assembly gigs and Leeds-native band, Call Me Animal, who will support the Nambucca gigs.

Tickets for these shows will be available via prize draw. Each entry costs £10, and results in two tickets for each fan chosen. The proceeds go to the Universal Music UK Sound Foundation, a music education charity for children. More information on this charity can be found at their wesbite.

These nostalgic and intimate gigs come as further celebration of the band’s 20^th anniversary. Previously, it was announced that the band will be playing a one-off show at London’s LIDO Festival on June 14 with support from Metronomy, Alice Phoebe Lou, Billie Marten, Lucy Rose and more.

At LIDO, Bombay Bicycle Club will perform their 2009 debut album, ‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose’ in full. It is an album the BBC remarked as “the sound of a band with a immense future ahead.” A live recording of the album at London Brixton Academy was released in 2019 and critics said it ‘creates an almost painful longing for live music’ and that ‘it’s enough to make you miss the feeling of spilt beer on your skin and hearing more of what your neighbour is belting than the actual band you came to see.’

The band returned to recording new music after a three year hiatus in 2023. Their latest album, ‘My Big Day’ was given four stars by Far Out Magazine, saying in their review, “this album feels like a maturation of the original starter kit that saw them turn into ready-baked brilliance 15 years ago.”

Bombay Bicycle Club says, “it’s not lost on us how rare it is and how fortunate we are to have the opportunity to make music and to still have so many people who care about our music and support us by coming to our shows.” And their 20-year celebrations—created with future, past and present fans in mind—show this thoughtful appreciation.

Cosplay follows the band’s 2022 release ‘Anywhere But Here’ and continues their evolution as one of the most distinctive acts in the UK’s alternative scene. Over the years, Sorry have carved out a reputation for their genre-defying approach, merging 90s grunge textures with jazz flourishes, trip-hop rhythms, and art-rock experimentation. The result is a sound that resists easy categorisation and keeps audiences guessing with every release.

Speaking about ‘Echoes’ in a press release, vocalist Asha Lorenz revealed the song’s roots in a poem “about the story of a boy shouting echo into a tunnel waiting for his reply.” As the track developed, Lorenz explained, it “blossomed into being about losing yourself in love and ‘echo’ becoming a third person in the middle.” Sonically, ‘Echoes’ pairs shimmering guitar work with moody percussion and the band’s trademark off-kilter melodies, hinting at the inventive direction ‘Cosplay’ may take.

The album announcement was accompanied by an irreverent Instagram post from the band, describing ‘Cosplay’ as “11 new sparkly songs” and their “much anticipated golden globes winning post Brit bop funky stinky baddy jazz album.” They closed with a rallying cry to fans to “Keep rockin in the free world. xxxx stay golden.”

Sorry are currently in the midst of an extensive live schedule. This weekend sees them perform two nights in Dublin (August 17–18), before heading to Glasgow and Manchester for back-to-back shows. The summer festival season will also feature key appearances from the band, including London’s All Points East on August 24 and Dorset’s End of the Road Festival on August 31.

Later in the year, they will embark on a North American tour, kicking off on December 3 and running through to December 20, concluding with a show in Los Angeles. With Cosplay on the horizon, the band’s upcoming dates promise to showcase both their back catalogue and the first glimpses of their latest material – an enticing prospect for fans who have followed their unpredictable journey from the start.

Both of these shows will take place just before their slot at All Points East 2025, which features a stacked lineup full of favourites for indie fans, including The Macabees as headliners. It will be The Macabees first live show since disbanding in 2017.

Also on the bill for All Points East 2025 are The Cribs, Dry Cleaning, Nilüfer Yanya, The Murder Capital, Divorce and Prima Queen.

The band’s latest album was 2023’s ‘My Big Day’. The album provided an eclectic sound, with influences from soul, rock, indie and electronic music all shining through in the production. The record also played host to some notable features, including Chaka Khan, Damon Albarn, Jay Som, Nilüfer Yanya and Holly Humberstone.

The album was well received among critics. In their review, Clash Magazine wrote: “The band’s sixth album – and first in three years – ‘My Big Day’ has a wonderfully organic feel. The songwriting is easy-going, the risks taken effortlessly; more than 15 years into their time together, Bombay Bicycle Club are still taking chances, and still reaping the rewards.”

In an interview with NME, guitarist Jamie MacColl spoke of how the band wanted to innovate and explore new sounds, rather than treading familiar waters within their music.

“I think nostalgia is the enemy of creativity and progress, to be honest. I think with the way streaming works, so much of the music ecosystem now services nostalgia so I think you have to constantly fight against that,” he said.

The band have been around since the mid-2000’s, dropping their debut album ‘I Had The Blues But Shook Them Loose‘ in 2006. Since then, they’ve released several critically acclaimed albums, experimenting with different sounds such as folk, electronica, world music and more.

Bombay Bicycle Club stayed active through 2024, with the indie quartet touring the UK and Europe and performing at Glastonbury 2024. During their sunny set, they were joined onstage by Blur/Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn. They also played their biggest headlining show ever, a hometown performance at London’s Alexandra Palace on July 12.

Later in November, the group gave a zoetrope vinyl reissue of their fourth album, ‘So Long, See You Tomorrow’, the band’s first ever No.1 record.

Formed in 2020, English Teacher comprises vocalist and guitarist Lily Fontaine, lead guitarist Lewis Whiting, bassist Nicholas Eden, and drummer Douglas Frost. The band originated at Leeds Conservatoire, initially performing under the name “Frank” before rebranding as English Teacher in 2020. Their early work, characterised by a blend of indie rock and post-punk influences, quickly gained attention within the UK music scene. 

Their debut studio album, ‘This Could Be Texas’, was released on April 12, 2024, via Island Records. The album showcases an eclectic mix of dreamy, atmospheric instrumentals, jagged post-punk rhythms, with political and social impressionistic lyricism. Blending elements of art-rock and shoegaze, it creates a sound that is both emotionally raw and sonically expansive. Tracks shift seamlessly between delicate, poetic musings like ‘Albatross’ with explosive, guitar-driven moments such as ‘Nearly Daffodils’, solidifying the band’s reputation for crafting unpredictable yet immersive music. 

Before embarking on their headline tour, English Teacher have a busy summer ahead. They are set to perform at the renowned Fuji Rock Festival in Japan, sharing the lineup with some of the biggest names in alternative music including Vampire Weekend, Haim and The Hives. Along with this, the band are also excitingly supporting Franz Ferdinand at their highly anticipated Glasgow gig on August 13, 2025. These high-profile performances further cement English Teacher’s reputation as one of the most exciting and dynamic live acts to emerge from the UK in recent years while also allowing them to gain even more access to fans across the globe.

The tour announcement comes as excitement builds around their upcoming album, which follows their 2015 release ‘It’s Automatic‘ and their 2022 reunion tour. The new record promises to bring The Enemy’s signature high-energy sound back to fans, blending anthemic indie rock with socially charged lyrics. Though an official release date has not been announced, the band has been recording new material with producer Matt Terry at Vada Studios, aiming to capture a sound reminiscent of their debut album, ‘We’ll Live and Die in These Towns‘ (2007).

Formed in 2006, The Enemy, comprising lead vocalist and guitarist Tom Clarke, bassist Andy Hopkins, and drummer Liam Watts, rose to fame with their debut album, which hit number one on the UK Albums Chart in 2007. Their most popular single, ‘Had Enough’, peaked at No. 4 on the UK Singles Chart and became an indie rock anthem of the late 2000s.

Commenting on the upcoming tour, the band said on X: “We’re absolutely buzzing to be back on tour and in some of our all time favourite venues. We’ll be trying out new material for the first time in years ahead of the new album we’re making, we’re all really excited to try some new tunes and see what you think whilst we finish it!”.

The newly announced dates will also see him playing Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Showgrounds on August 22 and headlining Belfast’s VITAL Festival on August 28, bringing his cool indie rock vibe to even more fans across the country. These shows add to an already extensive stadium tour that kicks off in London on June 6, before heading to his hometown for a trio of career-defining nights at Newcastle’s St James’ Park on June 12, 14, and 15. 

Tickets for the new dates will go on sale Friday, February 21, with fans able to access presale tickets from Tuesday, February 18. Fender has also made sure to give fans from the cancelled Glasgow and Newcastle shows the opportunity to catch him again by setting up even earlier access for them. Given the demand for his previous tour dates, these new shows are expected to sell out fast. 

Alongside this announcement, Fender has already revealed the release of another single from up-coming album ‘People Watching’ set for release February 21. The track titled ‘Remember My Name’, comes out Friday 14 and is a song written from the perspective of his grandfather. On social media, Fender shared that his grandfather would spend every day with his grandmother after she developed dementia, telling her stories about their family in the hope she’d remember them. Given his ability to craft deeply moving narratives and the snippet already given, ‘Remember My Name’ is expected to be one of his most heart aching songs yet. This latest track follows previously released singles ‘People Watching’, ‘Wild Long Lie’ and ‘Arm’s Length’, giving fans more anticipation of what is to come.

In addition to this, Fender has been nominated for Artist of the Year and Alternative/Rock Act at the 2025 BRIT Awards. Formed in early 2023, Shenanygans is a four-piece indie rock band hailing from Solothurn, Switzerland. The group is fronted by Irish brothers Dan and Kaylem Hannon-Barry, Swiss drummer Tom Brunner and Swiss-Polish bassist and singer Lucky Luki. Their music blends influences from classic acts like The Kinks and The Velvet Underground with modern bands such as Arctic Monkeys and Rex Orange County, creating a unique sound that merges past and present styles.

Their European tour will offically be announced on February 13, revealing all upcoming dates. This will follow the band’s successful October 2024 tour across Japan. Franz Ferdinand is a Scottish rock band that formed in Glasgow in 2002. Known for their catchy, danceable indie rock sound, the band quickly rose to fame with their hit single ‘Take Me Out’, released on January 12, 2004, as the second single from their debut album ‘Take Me Out’. The song achieved significant success on the UK Singles Chart, peaking at number three. The band is often associated with the post-punk revival of the early 2000s.
