The tour will begin in Oslo at Rockefeller on June 12, before heading to Amsterdam’s Paradiso on June 16 and Berlin’s Astra on June 19. She will then take the stage at Ancienne Belgique in Brussels on June 24, followed by a performance at Le Trianon in Paris on June 25. UK fans will have the opportunity to see her at Brixton Academy in London on June 26, before she moves on to Edinburgh’s Usher Hall on June 28. The tour continues into July with a show at Manchester Academy on July 2, followed by a special night in Dublin at Iveagh Gardens on July 3. The final stop will be at Roskilde Festival in Denmark on July 5, closing out what promises to be an unforgettable run of shows. 

Tickets for these highly anticipated performances go on sale on February 21, 2025. Fans eager for early access can take advantage of the presale beginning on February 18, with codes available through Dacus’s official mailing list and social media pages after pre-purchasing the album from her online store.  

In anticipation of the album, Dacus has released new single, ‘Best Guess’. The song carries a nostalgic ’90s energy, blending mellow guitar tones with her signature thoughtful lyricism. The accompanying music video, which she directed herself, adds another layer of meaning, centring around masc-presenting queer people, a group that is often underrepresented in mainstream media. Featuring appearances from Cara Delevingne, Towa Bird, and Muna’s Naomi McPherson, the video is a celebration of queer joy, playfully challenging conventional ideas of masculinity. 

With scenes of boxing, billiards, darts, andvery chilled line-dancing, the video reclaims traditionally masculine-coded spaces and fills them with fluidity and self-expression. It offers a rare portrayal of masc queer identities, presenting them in a space that feels safe, fun, and full of community. For Dacus, an artist who has always explored themes of self-discovery and queerness, ‘Best Guess’ feels both personal and culturally significant, as if it is a love letter to those who don’t always see themselves represented in media.

The tour will see Razorlight perform across the UK, bringing their high-energy show to cities such as Liverpool, Birmingham, Bath, Nottingham, Glasgow, and Sheffield. Known for their energetic and unpredictable live performances, Razorlight will bring their signature intensity to venues across the UK, ensuring that audiences everywhere get to experience the excitement of their long-awaited comeback. 

Tickets for the tour are set to go on sale at 9 AM on February 14, and given Razorlight’s reputation for delivering electrifying live shows, demand is expected to be high. With the excitement surrounding their reunion and the release of ‘Planet Nowhere’, this tour will be a major event for both long-time fans and newer listeners who have discovered the band in recent years. 

Razorlight first made waves in the early 2000s with their debut album, ‘Up All Night’, released in 2004. The album featured standout tracks like ‘Golden Touch’ and ‘Somewhere Else’, earning them a reputation as one of the most exciting bands of the British indie rock revival. They reached even greater heights in 2006 with their self-titled second album, which debuted at number one in the UK and included their biggest hit, ‘America’. Over the years, the band went through multiple lineup changes and a period of inactivity before reuniting in 2018 and later returning with their latest album ‘Planet Nowhere’ in 2024, a project that marked a full-circle moment for the original members. 

The album, ‘Planet Nowhere’, explores themes of isolation, self-reflection, and societal change while maintaining their signature indie rock energy. Tracks like ‘Zombie Love’ embrace a stripped-down, evocative style, while ‘Taylor Swift = US Soft Propaganda’ adds a playful, satirical edge. ‘Empire Service’ takes a more narrative-driven approach, painting vivid imagery of a train journey along the Hudson River mixed with what seems to be internal thoughts of the travel, shown in the lyrics, “It is the ocean, No it’s not, Yes it is, What is the ocean?”. The album blends raw emotion with infectious melodies, marking a significant evolution for the band as they balance nostalgia with fresh, thought-provoking material. 

As Razorlight prepares to hit the road once again, their return signals a renewed presence in the indie rock scene. The tour begins June 10 in Zurich, Switzerland, and winds its way through Germany, Italy, France, Norway, Latvia, and Bulgaria, culminating in a final, spellbinding performance at the ancient Plovdiv Amphitheater on August 19. Nick Cave’s concerts have long been considered as more than just gigs—they’re spiritual experiences. Whether he’s whispering at the piano or unleashing his full fury, his performances are a communion between artist and audience, where every lyric feels carved from the depths of his soul.

His musical style is a haunting blend of gothic rock, blues, and post-punk, but it’s his ability to turn every song into a narrative that truly sets him apart. His lyrics, often steeped in biblical allusion and steeped in a kind of fevered mysticism, are more akin to literary prose than standard songwriting. He sings of love, death, violence, and redemption with a delivery that moves from sultry crooning to full-throated, manic rants. His early work with The Bad Seeds pulsed with raw, chaotic energy, but as his career evolved, so did his sound. Cave’s later albums lean toward lush orchestration and minimalistic piano ballads, creating a sound as simply heartbreaking as it is sweepingly cinematic. His music is both timeless and otherworldly, a space where the shadows of old gospel, blues, and noir cinema collide in a whirlpool of dark intensity.

Cave has only undertaken two solo tours before, making his upcoming tour his highly anticipated third. The first, Conversations with Nick Cave (2018-2020), was an intimate, unscripted experience where Cave performed solo on piano and shared personal stories, including his grief after the loss of his son, Arthur. A film, recorded at the Ally Pally, was released in September 2020. In 2022, Cave returned for his second solo tour, joined by Radiohead’s Colin Greenwood on bass, with minimalist performances that mixed Bad Seeds classics and newer material from Ghosteen and Carnage.

This solo tour follows his North American run with St. Vincent and comes just months after the release of ‘Wild God,’ his latest album with The Bad Seeds. Known for his ability to reimagine his catalog with each new tour, Cave may surprise fans with stripped-down versions of both old classics and new masterpieces.

While no official setlist has been revealed, Cave’s solo shows often include deeply personal, piano-driven favourites. ‘Into My Arms’—written during his time in rehab—seems inevitable, as does ‘O Children,’ a track discovered by a new generation after its inclusion in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Songs like ‘Jubilee Street’ and ‘The Mercy Seat’ have taken on mythic status in his live repertoire, and with ‘Wild God’ still fresh, tracks like ‘Joy’ or ‘The Break’ could take on even greater emotional weight in this stripped-back format.

This tour’s venues are as much a part of the experience as the music itself. From the grand Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg to the ruins of Pompei’s amphitheater, every space has been carefully chosen to amplify Cave’s dark magic. Expect candlelit intensity, whispered prayers, and a sense that for a few hours, the outside world has ceased to exist.

The multi-instrumentalist whose music blends indie, folk, pop, and rock influences released his debut album, ‘Feel the Ground You Walk Upon’, in March 2022. Exploring relatable themes of first love, leaving home, and mental health struggle, McLaughlin’s heartfelt narratives and authentic delivery resonated deeply with listeners, sparking the growth of a devoted fan base.

The standout track from the album, ‘Summer’, became a fan favourite and defining release for McLaughlin. Capturing a sense of nostalgia and connection, the poignant indie-folk track won him the prestigious Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition in 2022.

The song’s gradual build – from its reverb-heavy, hard-panned vocals to a lush blend of acoustic guitar, piano, strings, and percussion – strikes a perfect balance between simplicity and emotional depth. This combination cemented ‘Summer’ as one of McLaughlin’s signature pieces and launched him onto stages at renowned festivals like Glastonbury, Latitude, and Belladrum.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Bon Iver and Villagers, McLaughlin’s artistry is both introspective and innovative. His work has been featured on platforms including BBC Radio Scotland and the Zoe Ball Breakfast Show, further broadening his reach.  

August 2024 saw the release of his second album, ‘A Hope In Fear’, which delves deeper into themes of self-discovery and resilience. While staying true to his narrative-driven songwriting style, the album showcases McLaughlin’s evolving sound and his continued resonance with audiences, solidifying his place in the contemporary indie music scene.

McLaughlin’s rise, along with other notable, emerging indie musicians like Good Neighbours and Jacob Alon, parallels a larger shift within the music industry.

Indie music, which refers to independent, experimental, and boundary-pushing music, isn’t defined by a specific sound or style. Over the past two decades, it has undergone a dramatic transformation, fuelled by the rise of streaming services, social media, and the resurgence of vinyl. Over the course of 2025, indie music is predicted to dominate the mainstream. The demand for authenticity and raw storytelling is stronger than ever, and independent artists are redefining the industry on their own terms.

Although signed to a record label, Lewis McLaughlin embodies the spirit of this new era, demonstrating that with talent, authenticity, and ingenuity, artists can thrive beyond the traditional barriers of the music industry. As an emerging artist, he exemplifies how the transformation of the industry – driven by the rise of direct-to-fan engagement with streaming platforms and social media – has created unparalleled opportunities for artists to connect with audiences, build loyal fanbases, and chart their own path to success.

To bid farewell to their fans, The Magic Gang has scheduled a series of celebratory shows in May, with performances set for Glasgow on May 21, Manchester on May 22, and a final show in London on May 23. Tickets for these shows will go on sale on Friday, January 26, at 9am GMT and are available for purchase here. O2 pre-sale for the London date at Electric Ballroom (this has now been relocated to Roundhouse) will also be available on Wednesday, January 24, at 9am GMT via the O2 app.

The announcement came in a heartfelt note from vocalist/guitarist Jack Kaye on Instagram reading, “This band started in 2013 in a bedroom in Kris’ parents house. I remember it was a sweltering hot day and me (Jack), Kris and Paeris were arguing over band names. Kris wanted to start a band with around ten members, playing an array of percussive instruments and acoustic guitars. With this in mind, we settled on The Magic Gang and Paeris wrote it on the front of a kick drum to make it official.

We recorded our first song ‘Bruises’ in our shared house in Brighton. Gus happened to be home at the time and was drafted in to play bass. There was something truly magical about that recording; a lightning-in-a-bottle moment you take for granted when you first start a band.

A decade on (and some time after our most recent gig), it’s clear to see how incredible the journey has been. We’ve travelled the world and have had the opportunity to share our music with anyone who cared to listen (and some who didn’t). We dedicated everything to the band and I’m so glad we did, because we got the world in return.

For now, we’ve decided to call time on The Magic Gang. This band has always been a sum of its parts – four songwriters working in collaboration and doing our best to honour each other’s ideas. The most natural thing now is for everyone in the band to spend some time exploring their own creative pursuits.

You’ll be hearing a lot more from all of us but for now, as The Magic Gang, we’d like to thank everyone who’s supported us over the years by playing a handful of extended shows. We’ll be playing a lot of songs we’ve not performed in years and covering everything from Bruises right up to now.

Having released their self-titled debut album in 2018 and their Northern Soul-influenced second record, ‘Death Of The Party’, in 2020, The Magic Gang experienced considerable success. Earning a formidable number 12 slot on the UK Albums Chart, their debut album made waves, earning the band a nomination for the ‘Best New Artist’ accolade at the esteemed 2018 NME Awards

The orchestral arrangements will be adapted to the late musicians’ songs and are to be conducted by the English composer, conductor and arranger, Jules Buckley, for the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. Fans will be pleased to know that he will be playing songs such as “It’s Raining Today”, “Copenhagen” and “The Old Man’s Back Again”. 

Scott Walker emerged in the 60’s and caved a fond hole in many hearts of his generation. He was an American-English singer songwriter who rolled of a vocal tone as thick as honey. He was a popstar who ticked off the charts in the 60’s making it as a popstar and delving into baroque rock later in the 70’s. He was best known for brining a legendary experimentation into his sound, later on in his career, setting the scene for the UK’s underground music field.

He died due, due to cancer, at the age of 76 in London on the 22nd March 2019. Ever since this mournful day, where he was those who appreciated him and held in their high spirits have hosted a variety of tributes to him. One of these coming up in May. “Scott Walker has been a unique and challenging titan at the forefront of British music” described his label at the time, 4AD.

Misty regularly took Walker into his referential accounts and so he probably feels a nostalgic pulling to pay his respects towards him. For those who will not attend the concert, highlights of the performance will be broadcast on the 25th of May on BBC Radio 6 and then will be fully released on BBC Radio 3 later on, the date and time are still to be announced.

Father John Misty is now currently touring on a worldwide journey until the end of the summer. Today (17 April) he is playing in Roanoke, VA. Once he’s finished visiting cities in the US he will make his way across the pond to play the tribute on the 19th May. This is a one off special of the tour. The rest of his gigs will not be hosting the orchestral tribute. After visiting London he will be touring around Europe to finally land back in the US by the end of August.

The song, released via Polydor Records, has already garnered over 50,000 streams on Spotify. It is the Liverpudlian band’s first release since their mixtape Loud Without Noise, which came out in November and debuted at number one on the UK rock and metal album charts.

Lead vocalist and trumpet player Holly Minto, who runs the bands social media accounts, discussed the new release on Twitter, saying “really whole heart into this from all of us. lyrically really allude to my neurodivergent struggles and my struggles with mental health.”

She also debated the meaning behind the song. As reported here, she said “‘That Time Of Year Always’ encompasses the feeling of envying your younger self before the trauma hits in your early 20s. It’s about missing the ignorance that you had in your childhood; that reflection process which usually happens for me during the winter seasons. Being older, you realize that despite thinking these thoughts stem from seasonal depression, it’s normal to feel that longing for your youth all year round, and to constantly have your younger self in mind when reminiscing about what once was.” The release is accompanied by a lyric video, which features a nostalgic video of the band walking on a windy beach alongside the lyrics.

The band, who are very interactive with their fans on social media, even asked for everyone’s favourite lyric from the song on Twitter. This incited many passionate responses from their fans who have been waiting for a new release. One response said:

The band first gained success with their hit single “Come Over (Again)”, which was released in November, 2021. The song went viral on TikTok, and its use became particularly popular on videos concerning mental health, domestic abuse, and addiction. The song was used in over 90,000 video responses, and has over forty million streams on Spotify. After the release of their debut album, the band supported My Chemical Romance on tour last year, performed their own sold-out headline tour across Europe and the UK in November, and are set to perform at Download Festival this summer. The quartet comprises of Holly Minto, Harry Breen on the drums, Liv Kettle on bass guitar, and Amy Woodall on guitar.

The simplicity of the party is what makes it a key event. Hosted in one night and two venues they will be showcasing leading bands from the modest indie/alternative, Post-Punk music scene today. Amongst this line-up we find bands such as the Australian guitar twisters Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, the English experimental rock band Beak, the French, alternative garage-rock trio Slift, Tel Aviv songwriter and musician BEATFOOT, the alternative mash band who dedicate to building their own guitars, Acid Dad, as well as many more.

This celebration of counterculture and independent music will be hosted at Earth Hall and Earth Theatre based in the renowned East London neighbourhood Hackney. For only 25 euros a ticket you can get a full blown musical experience in preparation for the big day, not to mention the pre-party’s after party hosting a selection of, currently, secret DJ’s still to be announced. The after party will be hosted in Shackwell Arms from 11pm to 3am.

For those who are unfamiliar with the Wide Awake experience, it is an annual festival hosted in Brockwell Park, London. Known to be a rigorous, yet wholesome, day of enthralling post-punk, captivating indie music and some cosmic electronic unwinders. They like to give the best up and coming bands an opportunity to be heard, as well as hosting key bands of the industry. Fans return each year to get a dose of the newly discovered music they are guaranteed from the festival. This year hosts bands such as Viagra Boys, Black Country New Road, Shy Girl, Caroline Polachek and many more.

Their collaborators, Desert Daze, are also an annual festival based on Moreno Beach at the Lake Perris State Recreation Area in California. An event ranging from country-western acts to roots, blues and world music. They host their event, however, in the autumn, this year from the 12th October to the 15th October they will be celebrating their 10 year anniversary.

The collaborative event is not one to miss. Especially hosted by two passionate corporates of the industry with a great reputation. Tickets went live today (15th March) at 10am.

The 2022 award show marked the twenty-third event held by the Association of Independent Music (AIM); AIM’s site provides the organisation’s mission statement; “AIM is the not-for-profit trade body exclusively representing the UK’s independent music sector, which makes up a quarter of the recorded music market. Now in its 20th year, AIM’s members range from the largest, most respected record labels and associated music businesses in the world to self-releasing artists and the next generation of entrepreneurs in music. AIM promotes and supports this exciting and diverse sector globally and provides a range of services, commercial opportunities and practical help to members, enabling them to innovate, grow and break into new markets.”

Consisting of twenty-one award categories, the annual ceremony saw some of the UK’s most prominent figures and labels within the independent music industry battle it out for the prestigious accolades. The first category, Best Independent album, was awarded to singer-songwriter Cleo Sol for her album Mother, also included within the nominees was chart favourite Dave, for his release We’re All Alone In This Together. The British rapper was also nominated for Best Independent Track for the single “Starlight“; the gong was bestowed to Nova Twins for their track “Antagonist”. The rock duo were also nominated for the coveted U.K. Independent breakthrough gong; fellow chart darling Wet Leg took home the award. Speaking via a video link, the group stated, “Thanks so much for the breakthrough award. It’s been a really wild year for us and we just want to take this opportunity to thank our team and all the other members of our new-found family. As a great man once said, ‘To infinity and beyond!‘”

Along with the winning announcements, the event became a massive hit for its headliner act, Indie legends The Libertines performed at the ceremony. Also billed to appear as a special guest was British icon Lethal Bizzle; during the award show the London-born artist was awarded the Outstanding Contribution gong to honour his contribution to the arts and to celebrate his two-decade-long career. Speaking to BANG Showbiz, the artist said, “It feels great, you know, I’m 20 plus years in and when you get to this stage in your career sometimes things can be forgotten. I feel like it’s a nice acknowledgement and it’s a proud moment for my hard work to be recognised like this.”

The 40-year-old Grime star’s performance marked his first live appearance since the pandemic; within his statement, Lethal Bizzle continued to discuss his touring plans, “This year I dropped my new project, a celebratory 20th anniversary project called ‘Lethal B vs Lethal Bizzle’ which is out now and I’m still working on that right now. And next year, I’m hoping to get back on the road. I’m actually performing tonight, it’s gonna be my first show since the pandemic so, you know, I’m gonna be a bit rusty but it’s gonna be fun.“

Otherwise known by his nickname Mr Razzcocks, the late drummer passed away on Tuesday 6th September 2022; a cause of death is yet to be known. The Libertines took to social media to pay tribute to their former band member; alongside a picture of the band, The Libertines included the following heartfelt statement, “Paul Dufour, our much loved drummer from the early days, passed away last night. We are all in great shock and sadness. Sending love and thoughts to Paul’s friends and family. It was honour to play with you Mr Razzcocks. Forever in our hearts x,“

Earlier this year, the indie rockers announced a one-off show celebrating the twentieth-anniversary edition of their debut album. Released in October 2022, Up The Bracket ushered in a new generation of modern popular music and propelled The Libertines into the limelight. The album’s release and The Libertines’ subsequent notoriety marked a resurgence of popularity in the UK rock and alternative music scene; the album’s tracks such as “Time For Heroes” and “Boys In The Band” have since become the cornerstone of indie music.

The Libertines have also confirmed a release date of a special twentieth-anniversary edition of Up The Bracket; the album will be released via Rough Trade Records and will be able to purchase from 21st October 2022. The beloved band’s drummer Powell recently spoke with NME concerning the anniversary release and the band’s hotly anticipated fourth studio album, the band’s upcoming album will follow their third studio album, Anthems For Doomed Youth, released in 2015.

Within the interview, Powell confirms he is more interested in new material than the forthcoming reissue, “My mind is more in line with the opportunity to record a new album than anything regarding 20 years ago. We’ve been playing the majority of the album [‘Up the Bracket’] for 20 years now, so this year for me, is a great opportunity to draw a line under this part of the saga and move on to the next phase.“

The Libertines’ sticksman continued to describe the band’s new music, “The good thing is everybody’s been writing. I’m hoping there’s going to be a whole new fervour and interesting dimension added to how we approach things. Obviously, we’re not going to try and reinvent the wheel and be like Depeche Mode going from rock ‘n’ roll to electronic, but I think we can push the boat out a little more while still bringing something that has the same emotional integrity and dynamism that the audience craves when they come to a Libertines show.“

The Up The Bracket 20th Anniversary Edition is available to pre-order now and will be available on various formats. A statement via Rough Trade describes the upcoming release, “In addition to a remaster of the original Up The Bracket album, produced by Mick Jones (The Clash), the Super Deluxe Edition also includes a remarkable 65 previously unreleased recordings including many original demos, radio sessions and live recordings all helping to chart the making of Up The Bracket, plus a live recording from the 100 club in 2002. It also contains a 60 page book with a forward by Matt Wilkinson, new interviews with the band by Anthony Thornton and many unseen photos and memorabilia.“
