The ceremony, which took place yesterday evening February 4th at the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles, California, saw the trio fight off competition from Aphex Twin’s ‘Blackbox Life Recorder 21F’, James Blake’s ‘Loading‘, Disclosure’s ‘Higher Than Ever Before‘, and Romy, with Fred Again… even competing against himself for their single ‘Strong‘. Cementing his first ever Grammy wins, it was a huge moment for the London-based fusionist, who was also nominated on the night for Best New Artist as a solo producer. Fellow UK musician Flowdan also joined in on the celebration, with it marking not only his first Grammy, but making musical history as the first ever UK MC to win one.

For Best Dance/Electronic Music Album, ‘Actual Life 3‘ was selected amongst a highly talented pool of nominees, including James Blake’s ‘Playing Robots Into Space’, The Chemical Brothers’ ‘Beautiful Feeing‘, Skrillex’s ‘Quest for Fire‘ and ‘Kx5′ by Kaskade and deadmau5 producing under their collaborative project Kx5. Fred Again… was not in attendance to accept either of the awards, but Skrillex and the ceremony’s host Justin Tranter accepted on his behalf.

In Skrillex’s acceptance speech, he said: “The first thing I want to say to anybody young out there who wants to make music or be an artist, the best advice I ever got was ‘success is something that you attract, not something that you try to chase or catch’. The other thing I want to say is for all the young people and everyone out here I know the world is crazy right now, I really hope that we can actually start listening to each other and that everyone on the other side of the aisle or everyone on a different perspective we realize that they’re not enemies and I really hope we can start listening to each other and having conversations.”

“The last thing I want to say is of course big love to Fred again, love to Flowdan. Flowdan’s one of the biggest inspirations in underground music in my life…and to have a Grammy with those guys, my best friends, making music that we just love, not trying to make a hit, not trying to do anything but push culture forward. This is for those guys. Thank you everybody and congratulations to everyone being here.” he added.

Since the news about his wins broke overseas, Fred has posted a simple behind-the-scenes reel on Instagram of himself and Flowdan jamming to a stripped back piano version of ‘Rumble‘. The clip shows the duo smiling and enjoying the collaborative process as the song begins to take shape:

Following a whirlwind 2023 packed with touring and sold-out shows around the globe, Fred Again… is currently set for another exciting, landmark year ahead, including his headline spot at Bonnaroo 2024 in Manchester, Tennessee this June. The full line-up for 2023 Creamfields North is yet to be announced but the event is scheduled to take place in Daresbury, Cheshire between 24-27 August next year. Tickets are already completely sold out, making it the fastest-selling Creamfields on record. Swedish House Mafia’s return to Creamfields comes after their last performance at the festival in 2019.

The producer trio have remained busy since then and earlier this year they released their debut album Paradise Again featuring guest appearances from A$AP Rocky, Sting and many more. They are currently on the European leg of their world tour in support of the LP. During their San Fransisco show last month, Swedish House Mafia also previewed a new Alicia Keys-assisted single titled ‘Finally’ which is yet to be released. The track is actually a cover of the Kings of Tomorrow song of the same name, which featured the singer Julie McKnight.

Creamfields originally started in Cheshire in 1998 and is one of the most popular and well renowned open-air electronic music festivals in the world. The festival had a very successful sell out this year, which marked their 25-year celebrations and continues to deliver world class line ups and next level production, with a continuous growing loyal following and is set to be Swedish House Mafia’s biggest apperance yet. Tickets for the festival went on sale on September 29 and are available for purchase here and as previously stated while the full line-up is yet to be announced you can keep up to date over the Creamfields website.

Straight from its premiere, the track entered UK’s leading radio stations and digital playlist for dance music and future club anthems. Last night ‘You’ve Done Enough‘ featured as a fresh club hit on Pete Tong’s ‘Global Dance Music’ monthly overview, as well as Kiss FM’s ‘Friday Nights’. The track was also picked up by MistaJam on Capital Dance, and Mollie King and Matt Edmondson on BBC Radio 1, in addition to its deserved spot at the main EDM playlists on Spotify and Apple Music. The single was released digitally accompanied by an exclusive ‘Terrace Dub‘ re-work.

‘You’ve Done Enough‘ showcases the remarkable synergy between Matt Robson-Scott and Kye Gibbon from Gorgon City and Na’el Shehade and Via Rosa from DRAMA. With dramatic vocals soaring high above the hypnotic deep bass line and string synths, the single revolves around suspensful breaks and steady rhythm that is bound to keep the party going in months to come. Oliver Tryon from Cultr Magazine adds: “You’ve Done Enough is deeply packed with poignant energy with DRAMA’s powerful voice adding layers of soul throughout, a touch that has already attracted heat and attentive ears amongst Gorgon City’s global fanbase“.

Gorgon City and DRAMA previously collaborated for the track ‘Nobody‘ from April 2020 after a chance discovery. As told in the original press release, the electronic duo listened to DRAMA and immediately “fell in love with their sound and Via Rosa‘s amazingly stirring vocal. They reached out and discovered the duo lived in Chicago where Kye is currently spending lots of time, and of course they had to get in the studio together. After a couple of days writing ideas, ‘Nobody’ was born, which Matt & Kye then produced in London.”

Masterfully fusing house music with pop and soul elements, the track went on to become a huge hit over last summer boasting over 13 million streams on Spotify and paving the way for ‘You’ve Done Enough‘ to build on the momentum and continue the fruitful partnership between the electronic duo.

Gorgon City hardly need an introduction, having worked with every major name in the global electronic scene and responsible for timeless club anthems like ‘Ready for Your Love‘ (ft. MNEK), ‘Here For You‘ (ft. Laura Welsh) and ‘Real Life‘ (with Duke Dumont and Naations) to name a few. Active since 2012, the duo quickly established themselves as a leading name in London’s and subsequently UK’s house and garage scenes, ready to take on every big festival stage across the globe. They have released two full-lenght records Sirens (2014) and Escape (2018) as well as numerous EPs, and standalone remix compilations.

Most recently, Gorgon City dropped their latest self-produced EP Realm on 4 December 2020. The release featured four house tracks ‘Trapdoor‘, ‘Grooves On The Vinyl’, ‘Roped In‘ and ‘Elizabeth Street‘ focused on rich instrumentation, atmospheric melodies and infectious club vibes. Following all collaborations from last year, including ‘Nobody’ with DRAMA, Realm was their first multi-track release since their last album Escape, and was described by EDM.com as a “bass-heavy and dance-forward compilation that sounds like it was created to get a crowd moving“.

It will feature over 25 DJ’s from around the world who will perform via 4 digital the platform ‘Naoz.’ Artists already confirmed to perform include, Tchami, Boyz Noize, David Guetta, Diplo, Martin Garrix, Charlotte de Witte, Duck Sauce, Snoop Dogg, Jack Black and many more to set the party alight.

Tomorrowland held their first digital festival in July due to the pandemic. The result was very successful with over 1 million fans paying to attend, which was an increase of more than %150 ticket holders than previous events.

Organizers have described the New Years Eve event to Billboard as, “a virtual entertainment world [that] will bring musicians, artists and communities across the globe together, offering people a spectacular way to experience digital concerts and performances with the world’s best technology in 3-D design, video production and special effects.”

The event will feature four different stages and will begin at 8.30pm and end at 3am in every time zone. The Melodia stage will feature artists such as Charlotte De Witte, David Guetta, Like Mike and Armin Van Buuren. The headliners for the Atmosphere stage, which is the main stage will feature Arbat, Meduza, Camelphat and Maceo Plex.

Michiel Beers, co-founder of the Tomorowland’s event said to Billboard about the event, “We believe that digital will exist next to live.  We also believe that we have to create moments that people really want to see [us] livestream in a special way, and really see it as a small event.”

David Guetta collaborated with Sia for another song ‘Let’s Love’ in September. Their previous hits included ‘Titanium,’ ‘She Wolf,’ ‘Flames,’ and more. NME reported him to of said during a press statement, “During this time of isolation, I’ve been incredibly inspired to release music that has an uplifting energy.” 

He Continued by saying,  “I love producing club tracks but at the same time, especially now, I feel like creating ‘feel-good’ music. ‘Let’s Love’ is a message of love, hope and bringing people together and once again, Sia has out done herself on the vocals.”

The pass is priced at 20 euros for a day pass, which will include access to all four stages, whilst a 25 euros NYE pass plus will allow ticket holders access to the performances from 1st-14th January. A 50 euros home celebration pass will include four on-demand passes. They will be available via the Tomorrowland Website.
