It is allegedly said that the show was shortened due to surpassing the venue’s curfew, which stipulates that events within the arena must conclude no later than 11pm from Monday to Saturday and no later than 10.30pm on Sundays.

Throughout the show, Madonna captivated the audience as she graced the stage adorned in satin lingerie and engaged in provocative movements alongside a troupe of bare-chested dancers. However, the performance came to an unexpected halt following the rendition of “Rain”, leaving disappointed fans bereft of the opportunity to hear “Like A Virgin”, “B***h I’m Madonna”, “Holiday,” and the concluding number, “Celebration”.

Disgruntled attendees took to Twitter, to express their frustration at feeling “disrespected” and “disappointed”.

She is just plain rude and disrespectful, dosent give a jot about her fans. She is always late ,no idea why people even go to see her nowadays. She must have needed a nana nap.

Rumours circulated that the late start was due to alleged technically difficulties at the start of the show. During Madonnas first performance on Saturday night, Madonna herself told fans that the was a technical difficultly, making Sunday the second occasion for these alleged ‘technical difficulties’.

Madonna announced on stage by saying “Sorry about this, sometimes these things happen, there’s a problem with the sound so they’re pressing the reset button.” She went on to address her own health issues recently and told fans at the O2 “I didn’t think I was going to make it, neither did the Doctors. The angels were there and my children save me every time.” 

Madonna reminisced about the challenges she faced during her early days in the music industry and in an effort to maintain the audience’s engagement, she expressed her enthusiasm and posed a question to the thousands in attendance, she said, “Am I imagining this? Oh my God, it is so good to be back London.” The popstar added “I’m pretty damned surprised that I made it this far and I mean that on so many levels. How did I make it this far? Because of you. I’m going to take a bit of credit too.”

Madonna also celebrated her daughter Lola’s birthday on the day of the opening night for her Celebration tour, were she had allegedly started late.

With two additional performances remaining, Madonna is scheduled to perform at the O2 Arena in London tonight, on October 17th and October 18th. Fans are eagerly anticipating her timely arrival and the complete execution of her set-list.

The UK’s Official Charts Company stated that it the ‘surge of interest’ in Christmas music is ‘very unusual’ for this time of the year. Martin Talbot, the company’s chief executive said that listeners have been leaning on “familiar TV, film, books and music as comfort from the miserable tone of so much of this year’s news”.

The increased festive streams this year is a result of the Covid-19 pandemic that has forced many into isolation and an uncomfortable and uncertain time, therefore familiar and nostalgic music has taken the reigns earlier than ever. Among the 21 Christmas tunes surging includes mostly the classics.

Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas is the highest on the list sitting comfortably at the number 2 position in the charts. Wham’s Last Christmas is close behind while the Pogues’ Fairytale of New York has broken into the top 10 this week.

Michael Buble, Elton John, Paul McCartney and John Lennon all reached the Top 40 this week as well, rather unsurprisingly as the UK is smitten with their classic hits. However, there are a few new Christmas songs that have been released this year to feature in the charts as well.

Many artists have chosen to release Christmas covers this year, including Miley Cyrus who recently covered Wham’s Last Christmas and many more in her virtual concert promoting the new Plastic Hearts album. Cyrus, along with Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Kylie and Little Mix are among the minority who continue to have hit songs in the top 40 that are not Christmas themed.

The number 1 position fittingly sits with Positions by Ariana Grande, who has a Christmas song in the top as well, Santa Baby. While many artists this year, none have successfully reached the top 40 chart because listeners are streaming based on nostalgic purposes.

However, one new festive hit could reach the charts by next week. The queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey, has teamed up with Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson on the new Christmas track Oh Santa! which is made of all the holiday ingredients to break into the charts. The new song was released today, December 4th and is streaming on all platforms.

After hinting this morning with an incredible ‘easter egg’ filled video on social media, Little Mix finally were able to tell everything to their fans. They wrote: “We are sooo happy to share this news with you guys…So much love, emotion and energy has gone into the making of this record and now the news is out we can finally get excited about it with you!!”

The album is available to pre-order now, and will include the band’s most recent singles ‘Holiday’ and ‘Break Up Song’. No other tracks have been confirmed, apart from a title track, which is likely to be the next release. After their initial post, Little Mix shared a video clip with music in the background, which their followers are hoping is a teaser for the single ‘Confetti’. The track appears very different from the two songs released so far; it is much slower paced and softer, offering a sensual sound with R&B influence.

This announcement follows yesterday’s performance in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, in which the group played an acoustic version of ‘Holiday’, and an ethereal cover of Harry Styles’ ‘Falling’. The fan reaction was incredible, and they all took to Twitter to show their support.

Little Mix formed in 2011 when the four members all auditioned for The X Factor as soloists and were asked to return as a group. They went on to win and sign to Simon Cowell’s label Syco, releasing five albums before signing with RCA Records. The band have won two Brit Awards and done a lot of work to combat cyber-bullying, support women’s and LGBTQ+ rights, along with supporting many charities and organisations.

The group kicked off the set with their latest single ‘Holiday‘, released on 24th July 2020 with a music video that currently stands at 8 million views. This was the first live radio performance of the song, as host Clara Amfo pointed out, commenting, “That was gorgeous!”

‘Holiday’ was followed up by a cover of Harry Styles’ ‘Falling’ from his 2019 album ‘Fine Line’. The emotional track was gracefully performed by the band with a bittersweet piano accompaniment, as they transformed the track by changing the melodies, tempo, time signature, and vocal tones.

Listeners were blown away by this entirely new take on the song, as well as the professional sound, saying, “Oh my gosh, no words. This cover is insane! I didn’t know it was possible to love Little Mix even more than I already did.” Afterwards, the band all let out a sigh of relief after being incredibly nervous to sing the challenging version of the song.

Between singing, the four members – Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Jesy Nelson, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock – chatted to Amfo about everything from TikTok, to meeting Jessica Alba, to the Little Mix 10th anniversary, coming next year. The videos will be available soon on the Live Lounge YouTube channel, but for now the full radio show is up here.

‘Holiday’ is one of the singles to be shared so far from Little Mix’s new era, and potentially a new album. Apart from this release, and previous single ‘Break Up Song’, there have been no further news.

Little Mix also released the accompanying video to Holiday on Friday 24th July. Posting to their official YouTube channel, Little Mix gifted a mermaid-themed lyric video to their 13.7m YouTube subscribers. With a whopping 654,000 views and 9,000 comments already, the lyric video is already widely popular within Little Mix’s extensive fanbase. 

An up-tempo, energetic track, the sunny, poppy Holiday has all the qualities to be another chart favourite by Little Mix. The first two verses of Holiday are led by Jesy and Leigh-Anne singing solos, demonstrating brilliantly their individual vocal prowesses. Jesy and Leigh-Anne sing sultry lyrics like “When it’s cold, you pull me closer/So hot, it’s like the middle of July” and “I’ve been looking for the feeling, looking all my life” making the track both romantic and empowering. 

Jade and Perrie lead the catchy chorus with “We’re just dancing the night away/Boy, you feel like a holiday”, the playful comparisons between boys and vacations in Holiday make the single sizzle with Girl Power. Famed for their strong vocals, Holiday blends the four singers’ powerful yet distinctly different voices together with ease. 

In wake of their latest release, the Shoutout To My Ex singers also posted a sweet compilation video of fans’ reactions to Holiday on their Instagram account yesterday. Gaining over 119,000 views, the video featured hilarious fan receptions to the new single, the funny clip being met with a delighted reaction from fans. Jesy Nelson posted a glamourous photo on her personal Instagram account to promote the single, captioning the post “Happy Holiday release day!”, which has already gathered over 200,000 likes.

Girl group Little Mix consists of members Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirwall and Jesy Nelson. Formed in 2011, Little Mix came together through the X Factor after auditioning as solo singers. Not only are they the first group to win X-Factor, Little Mix are also the show’s most globally successful artists.

Since their X Factor victory nearly ten years ago, Little Mix have released five hugely successful albums. Following their debut album DNA (2012) came Salute (2013), Get Weird (2015) Glory Days (2017), and LM5 (2018), all peaking within the Top 10 charts of ten countries, including the UK and the USA. Rumoured to be titled LM6, Little Mix’s sixth studio album will arrive in 2021, coinciding with the group’s 10 year anniversary. Speaking with The Sun recently, Jesy Nelson relayed that “It doesn’t feel like ten years. Well, it does and it doesn’t. It’s crazy.” When asked about celebrating the band’s important milestone, Nelson added that “Whether it be A Night With Little Mix where we do a big show or a special ten-year tour…we’d definitely like to do something!”

Little Mix fans are loving the news, some taking to the Instagram comments to show their support for the band. One fan said; “IS THIS THE COVER ART? OMG SO AMAZING WE STAN, Queens of consistency” another enthusiastic comment read; “YALL GONNA BE RECEIVING MY WIG BILL FR SHE IS GONE.. SHE HAS BEEN SNATCHED”

2020 was supposed to be a big year for Little Mix. They had previously announced their reality talent show Little Mix: The Search, where the band members would have all stared as judges and Chris Ramsey as the host. The winner of this show would be joining the band on their Summer Hits 2020 Tour.

However, due to the global pandemic, the tour had to be cancelled and the show will be made with coronavirus guidelines in place. The groups will live together while gaining access to voice coaches, songwriters and producers. It has yet to confirmed when the show will air.

Holiday will be out Friday 24th of July and will be available to stream and download on all platforms.
