Adele’s Las Vegas residency faced significant challenges when it was initially postponed in January 2022, just a day before it was scheduled to begin. The singer then tearfully announced the postponement in a video posted on social media. She apologized to fans, citing delays due to COVID-19 and logistical issues that made the show incomplete.

The last-minute announcement upset many fans who had already traveled to Las Vegas and incurred expenses for tickets, accommodations, and flights. Some criticized the timing of the decision, while others expressed understanding given the circumstances. After the postponement, Adele and her team worked to address the issues. The residency eventually began on November 18, 2022, at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace

The Grammy-winning singer is known for her long breaks from music. She took an extended break from the music industry after her ‘25’ album release in 2015. Her hiatus lasted several years during which she focused on personal growth and her family.

Adele returned to music in 2021 with ‘30’, an album that delved deeply into her personal life and emotions, including her divorce and its impact on her and her son. The album was critically acclaimed and commercially successful, affirming her status as one of the world’s most beloved artists. Adele’s ‘Easy on Me‘ had an impressive run on the charts, it stayed at No. 1 for seven weeks and remained on the UK Singles Chart for 23 weeks in total.

At her last show in Munich, the singer said: “It has been amazing. I just need a rest. I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself and I want to live it now.”

Although the singer has announced her well-deserved break from music, she promised a tour of her upcoming, not-yet-made album.

Mr. Bungle, the experimental rock supergroup led by Mike Patton, has exciting news for their European fans. After a long hiatus, the band has announced a series of shows in Europe during the summer of 2024. This will mark their first time performing in Europe since 2000, making it a highly anticipated event for their dedicated fanbase.

The lineup for these shows will feature original members Trey Spruance and Trevor Dunn, alongside two thrash metal legends, Scott Ian and Dave Lombardo. The addition of Ian and Lombardo is sure to bring a new level of energy and intensity to Mr. Bungle’s already eclectic sound.

These shows will be part of Ipecac Recordings’ 2024 Geek Show European Vacation, a tour that showcases some of the most innovative and boundary-pushing acts in the music industry. Joining Mr. Bungle on the lineup will be Oxbow and Spotlights, two bands known for their unique and captivating performances.

Ipecac Recordings, founded by Patton and Greg Werckman in 1999, has been a platform for releasing groundbreaking music. It all started with the release of Fantômas’ first album, and since then, the label has continued to push the boundaries of what is considered mainstream.

The 2024 edition of the Geek Show will take place in various cities across Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Luxembourg, and Holland. Fans from all over Europe will have the opportunity to witness the incredible talent and creativity of these three bands.

In addition to the Geek Show, Mr. Bungle, Oxbow, and Spotlights will also be performing at Hellfest in France, one of the most renowned metal festivals in the world. This will give them the chance to showcase their music to a wider audience and solidify their status as influential figures in the rock and metal scene.

Mr. Bungle’s most recent album, “The Raging Wrath Of The Easter Bunny Demo,” was released in 2020 to critical acclaim. The album showcased the band’s ability to seamlessly blend different genres and experiment with their sound, further solidifying their reputation as pioneers of experimental rock.

However, in September 2021, Patton announced that he would be unable to commit to future touring plans with both Faith No More and Mr. Bungle due to mental health reasons. Despite this setback, Patton expressed gratitude for the support of his bands and his commitment to working through these challenges in a healthy way. He said “I have issues that were exacerbated by the pandemic that are challenging me right now, I don’t feel I can give what I should at this point, and I am not going to give less than 100 percent. The bands’ support me in this decision,” he continued, “and we look forward to working through this in a healthy way.”

The 1975 have been announced as the replacement headlining act at Reading and Leeds Festival 2023, following former headliner Lewis Capaldi’s hiatus from touring.

Lewis Capaldi recently announced that he will be taking a break from work commitments following his performance at Glastonbury in order to “adjust to the impact” of living with Tourette’s syndrome. Capaldi wrote, “I used to be able to enjoy every second of shows like this and I’d hoped three weeks away would sort me out. But the truth is I’m still learning to adjust to the impact of my Tourette’s and on Saturday it became obvious that I need to spend so much more time getting my mental and physical health in order, so I can keep doing everything I love for a long time.”

This announcement followed his decision to take a break to prepare himself for his Glastonbury performance, but has ultimately ended in a longer hiatus than initially planned.

One such commitment that Capaldi will be missing is the headlining slot of Reading and Leeds Festival, where he was set to headline Reading on Saturday 26th August and Leeds on Sunday 27th August. The festival organisers addressed his cancellation, writing, “We’re gutted that Lewis Capaldi won’t be performing at R&L this year, but health comes first and we wish him a speedy recovery.”

The 1975 have now been announced as the replacement headlining act, and are reportedly close friends with Capaldi. At The 1975’s gig at Finsbury Park on 2nd July, Matty Healy addressed Capaldi, saying “I want to send my sincerest thoughts to Lewis Capaldi who is a dear friend of mine, who on the day when he had to cancel his tour, checked in on me. And it’s also a reflection on how hard being a solo artist is as I would not be doing this show if I didn’t have these amazing men and women behind me.”

The 1975 have decided to use their headlining slot to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their self-titled debut album, released in 2013. Frontman Matty Healy announced this decision onstage at TRNSMT festival, telling the crowd, “So, on Saturday at Reading and Sunday at Leeds in celebration of 10 years of our debut album, The 1975 will be playing that album in full in support of our good friend Lewis Capaldi. If you’ve got tickets, good for you. If you haven’t, go and get them. We’ll see you there.”

The band also took to social media to confirm that this will be a 10th anniversary performance of their debut album.

Indie-rock band Peace took to social media this week to announce their comeback, following a 5 year long hiatus.

The band announced a new album and new shows, writing, “You can listen to our new album in full right now on our cool new website peaceforeverever.co.uk.”

Catering to their dedicated fans, Peace announced that “The record will be commercially released later this year but for now this is how we’re going to share our music with the people that it means a lot to.”

Their comeback now sees the band return as a duo, with ex-members Doug Castle and Dom Boyce having “taken a different flight path and are soaring across different skies. But all with monstrously good vibes.”

Original members Harry and Sam Koisser are set to continue developing Peace’s musical journey. The pair wrote, “We are not replacing them and Peace is entering a new era in an extremely meaningful way.”

Peace announced 2 shows to mark their return and are set to perform in Birmingham and London to kickstart their new era. The duo wrote, “These shows mark the explosion of a newer universe.
This year marks the 10 year anniversary of the Peace’s critically acclaimed debut album, In Love, reaching No.16 in the UK Albums Chart.

Following In Love and their 2015 album release, Happy People, Peace vanished for 3 years before releasing Kindness Is The New Rock and Roll. Speaking to Far Out Magazine about their break, frontman Harry Koisser said, “It was a slow process coming back and doing shows, all of our equipment was broken, we bought a new guitar that didn’t work. It was fairly intuitive.”

Koisser shared that “some kind of fucked up shit” was involved in delaying their comeback, and the band ultimately went on hiatus from 2018 until now.

English singer and songwriter and One Direction band member, Louis Tomlinson didn’t back down in sharing his thoughts about his career after One Direction. He recently admitted to some envy when his other bandmate, Harry Styles went solo. He said to The Times, according to NME, “When One Direction split up, I was mortified, I was absolutely gutted. I was a bit bitter, I suppose because it felt like another loss to me. But I’ve a better understanding of things now, and there’s not as much anger. It is what it is.”

Tomlinson confirmed that it was not much of “a surprise” that Harry Styles has become successful as he has been. “We were always aware that Harry would fit the mould, and it’s been an amazing thing to watch,” Tomlinson said. “Envy? At the start maybe, when I was trying to find my feet, but it’s never healthy to cross reference your own success with others is it? These days, I’m learning to elevate myself in those moments when I have to. I didn’t know how to do that before, but now? Now I know I f****** can.”

Although the two had known each other, prior to their early careers, they did not become friends until they joined their fellow bandmates, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik to form One Direction in 2010.

The boyband went on to become one of the biggest and most recognised bands of all time, drastically breaking records, touring the world, and winning awards. However, when Zayn departed from the band in 2015, the remaining band member went on an indefinite hiatus which led the band and Zayn to eventually part ways.

Tomlinson explained that it was then that he felt an intense sense of rivalry between Styles. He believes that both himself and Styles are on the same level. Ever since their solo careers started, he felt like he was desperately trying to outdo him. Ever since his album, Walls was released, despite being a successful venture, he says that he continues to look up to Styles and admires him for his achievements.

At the BRIT Awards, where Harry made a controversial statement, “This doesn’t happen to people like me very often.” which sparked outrage amongst viewers. Louis was asked to give his thoughts about this situation and he said, “Only Harry knows what he means there… but we all came from relatively humble beginnings, and now we are where we are.”

After the Faith In The Future album was released in November 2022, he expressed his excitement to continue his solo career and will be dropping more music soon.

British future-garage songwriter-producer Aaron Jerome, better known by his stage name SBTRKT, released a short 1-second clip on his socials, it accompanies a longer trailer directed by (the mysterious) THE REST. The announcement brings to light his first music in 6 years; ‘BODMIN MOOR Prequel’. You can check out the trailer below.

While it has been a good while since our last new SBTRKT music – and even longer since Wonder Where We Land, which is considered his last actual album and not just a collection of offcuts – but that doesn’t mean that the announcement has come out of nowhere. Huxley, another artist floating around the same circles, posted on his Twitter on June 2nd saying, “what happened to sbtrkt man”, SBTRKT himself quickly responded with a mysterious link – https://thevanishingpost.com. The website probably raised more questions than it actually answered. Clippings of old newspapers, blurry black and white photos of animals, and medieval tapestries all revolving around the existence of some sort of beast. The bottom of the page shows a link to the same short animation that was publicly released today. All very mysterious.

But now, we have official information, not just general ramblings of SBTRKT finally resurfacing. It’s not much but it is something. We know that there’s music, and it’s probably called BODMIN MOOR. Which fits with the animalistic theme from the Vanishing Post website. The legend of the beast of Bodmin Moor is one that has a lot of overlap with SBTRKT in terms of imagery and atmosphere, it almost makes sense.

Last year, when posting about the 10th anniversary of his, now classic, self-titled debut, Jerome went on to comment about the future of the project. “Maybe one day I will play some of the unreleased off-cuts from the album and also perform it as one record on its own! I guess more importantly – I’ve been writing new music for quite a while… it’s been too long but good shit takes time and I can’t wait to share it with you.”

It’s true, we don’t actually have any confirmed information just yet, but if the industry and general hype-building as a whole is anything to go by… I reckon we’ll have our answers in less than a week. Whether it’s an album, a tour, or something else completely different – I don’t know a soundtrack to a movie(?) – we’ll know soon enough. The wheels are in motion.

2012, a strange time. Taylor Swift’s Red was pretty much the biggest thing in pop music, Maroon 5 and Carly Rae Jepsen were at the peak of their stardom, and a few big names in the rap scene were finally starting to bubble up to the surface; Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar… you remember 2012. It’s arguable that this was the point in popular music where rock finally stopped being pop. After decades of guitar music dominating the charts, we were finally starting to see a change. As a result of this, a lot of bands got left behind. The Big Pink, for example, offer their own signature shoegaze laden brand of indie-pop that showed some real potential back in the 00s. But 2 LPs and a bit of a breakup meant that the band were gone, and the scene was changing. 10 years have passed since the band’s last album… the perfect time to come back! You can listen to new track ‘No Angels’ below.

While this isn’t the first time the band have released music since 2012, they released a single in 2015 called ‘Hightimes’ with the promise of a new album that never showed, the band have come back with a lot of conviction. In a conversation with NME, frontman Robbie Furze had this to say of the single, “’No Angels’ a development in our songwriting and our technical approach, but it does definitely have the same aesthetic as our first record,” elaborating, “That’s where I feel most comfortable in representing what The Big Pink stands for. It all made sense and this was always in my head as the first song to come back with.”

The sound of the new track may well be very reminiscent of the band’s early material, but with a noticeable change in influence and method. When asked why this is the time to bring the band back, Furze explained how the last decade of free time had allowed him to spend all of his time DJ-ing in LA, spending time with artists like The Kills’ Jamie Hince, Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner, and Jamie T. The noisey style has remained, but with a slight twang of an aged indie swagger. “We did a US tour with [Wolf Alice] in 2018 and that’s when I realised that this was my calling and I had to get back on stage – this is really what I wanted to do.” Furze concludes, “I didn’t want to mess around with anything else. It was time to do The Big Pink again.”

As happened back in 2015, there has been no confirmation of a new album, no evidence that it’s even in the pipeline, or any shows booked that could even show us some new music. But Furze seems confident. Watch this space.

Brockhampton have been Hip Hop’s coolest answer to a boyband since their first official single “Dirt” was released in 2015. Since then they have toured the planet, sold out shows in the most remote corners of the world and dazzled listeners with their eccentric soundscape. However, much to the disappointment of many fans who have been itching to see the band for years, they announced just last night via their instagram page that Brockhampton “will be taking an indefinite hiatus as a group”.

Many fans shared their upset via twitter and instagram with one stating “brockhampton. i have been waiting through 3 years of rescheduled shows to see u. just for them to get cancelled & u to announce ur not performing together again” .

brockhampton. i have been waiting through 3 years of rescheduled shows to see u. just for them to get cancelled & u to announce ur not performing together again u can’t just dip like that man i’m so sad

— tyla (@000tyla) January 14, 2022

Other fans expressed their disappointment in the now six piece with one instagram comment stating “I didn’t have tickets or anything but I’ve never seen a band do this so disrespectfully I hope there’s an explanation.” and another commenting “Probably the lamest way to go out ngl.”

Furthermore, the statement published yesterday claims that the final shows the band will play as a group is London’s Brixton O2 and Coachella, whereas all other dates on their world tour are cancelled, effective immediately. This abrupt nature has not gone unnoticed and many suspect new information to slowly arise from the press, others merely refuse to believe the news and claim this post as a promotional plan.

Brockhampton was formed by front man, Kevin Abstract, in 2015 through a Kanye West fan forum where he recruited 15 members. It would be 2 years later the group made their breakout with the saturation trilogy but then received backlash as they were forced to kick our Ameer Vann due to allegations of “mental and physical abuse”. Despite this, the band went on to sign with RCA and tour the world.

In a heartfelt message to their fans the band writes “From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being on this journey with us. We would not be here without our fans. We hope we’ve been able to inspire you as much as you have us these past eight years.” Read the full statement here.

M Hunchos latest release wasn’t that long ago, dropping off “Breadwinners” in early September which was released following a 9 month fast of solo music, which prior to this saw his last solo release in 2019.

Huncho may have starved his fans off solo music but in the last 2 years, the northwest Londoner has released a number of collaborations including tracks alongside Potter Payper, Unknown T, Yxng bane and Nafe Smallz. In addition to these singles, the rapper released a joint project alongside regular collaborator Nafe Smallz, the project titled DNA featured 13 songs and featured tracks such as “5 AM” and “Flooded” which have a combined 20 million streams on Spotify. The project dropped independently via the two artists and peaked in the charts at 6th and stayed in the charts for a consecutive 4 weeks.

The rappers last solo project was in February 2020 and was the rappers second studio album and his highest-charting project giving the rapper his highest-charting release charting in the top 5 and staying in the charts for 10 consecutive weeks.

Huncho’s Instagram post suggest that there may be an upcoming Huncho project with many blog pages suggesting the 27-year-old is preparing to drop a new project in the near future.

Away from his own music Huncho is preparing for his first-ever festival next year in Barcelona called “Hunchoz Wrld”. The festival has already announced the phase 1 lineup with Berwyn, CVSS, Denz and Renz, Kenny Allstar, M1llionz, ShaSimone, Tiffany Calver and Unknown T, already having been announced to perform at the festival set to take place on May 13th 2022 to the 16th.

Bloc Party have released a kaleidoscopic new music video ‘Ratchet’ before melting into a planned ‘hiatus’ of indefinite length.

The jagged urban-indie mojo of Bloc Party has seemed to diminish of late, with the band taking a lengthy breath of 4 years between the stylishly pulsating alt-dance tracks of ‘Intimacy’ (2009) and the organic, guitar grit of ‘Four’ (2012) an album that unfortunately struggled to claim relevance, its bolstering post-punk sound crying out in manic volatility to a crowd that had since progressed.

However, much to the delight of the online press, the band have just delivered ‘Rathchet’, their new music video from ‘The Nextwave Sessions EP’ (to be released on August 13th) an unsettling trip of morphing faces and glissando guitar lines. What’s even more disturbing is the news of a second break in the group’s decade long narrative, with guitarist Russell Lissack siting bi-polar relationships and even spousal disapproval. When talking to Canadian journalist, Jon Dekel, the 32 year old explained that his wife had confessed, ‘you’re life, I can’t handle it’, a deterring enough revelation, but coupled with the four-piece’s shaking friendship where ‘minor things… (cause) everyone to hate each other’, this makes a convincing case for Bloc Party to ‘wrap up this period in the band’.

Not wishing to degrade the late giants of British post-millennia indie to a sensationalist ‘break-up’, it is important to note that reactions to ‘Ratchet’s’ subtle set-list slips have been ‘insane’, reputes frontman Kele Okereke. So, despite their waning, the possibility of a final hurrah is by no means implausible… We shall see, Bloc Party headline Latitude Festival on the 19th July this summer.
