Scheduled for Leeds and Cardiff, these intimate shows are alongside their supporting role on American band Rise Against’s tour. These headlining gigs allow the band to step into the spotlight and showcase their upcoming album, Violet, set for release on January 31, 2025.

Dunes (@lsdunes)

Formed in 2022, L.S. Dunes comprises an all-star lineup of Anthony Green of Circa Survive on vocals, Frank Iero of My Chemical Romance and Travis Stever of Coheed and Cambria on guitars, Tim Payne of Thursday on bass, and Tucker Rule, also of Thursday, on drums. Together, they create a post-hardcore sound using high-energy instrumentation to perfect it.

The announcement not only coincides with their supporting role but also with their latest single, ‘Paper Tigers’. The track is an exploration of self-doubt and teases an electrifying preview of Violet. Green offers emotional lyrics capturing the tension between being fragile and strong, highlighted in the line, “I was running in circles trying to keep up, at last I was given the signal.” The song showcases the band’s signature mix of punk energy and melodic intensity, which has built up anticipation for the album’s release. With these beautifully vulnerable lyrics and the thunderous rhythm section, the single represents the band’s sound. It pushes musical boundaries but still remains true to their post-hardcore roots.

While the band is supporting Rise Against at larger venues across the UK and Europe, the Leeds and Cardiff headliners promise fans a chance to see L.S. Dunes at their most unfiltered. These performances will no doubt feature tracks from their 2022 album Past Lives, alongside material from Violet.

Past Lives introduced L.S. Dunes’ explosive sound, with notable tracks like ‘Permanent Rebellion’ that resonate as anthems representing defiance and resilience. The album also established the band as a major force in the genre’s revival movement, blending completely heartfelt lyricism with raw instrumentation.

The upcoming headline shows also reflect the band’s commitment to creating a meaningful connection with audiences across the pond, not only hitting the UK but featuring a show in Germany as well. Although the band has performed in the UK before in 2023, these intimate gigs give fans a unique opportunity to see how their music has developed.

As 2025 approaches, the excitement surrounding Violet and the announcement of these headlining dates continues to grow. Whether supporting Rise Against or standing alone as headliners, the band is no doubt making a mark in the alternative music genre. The upcoming release of Violet and future tours promise to be a defining moment for L.S. Dunes, solidifying their place as one of the most compelling bands in post-hardcore today. With single ‘Paper Tigers’ already making waves, fans are eagerly awaiting what’s next.

— anton newcombe (@antonnewcombe) April 5, 2023

The show is the third date of the music series event On The Mount At Wasing, which is comprised of five dates through late June and early July, and it is the latest addition to the Scottish alternative rock band’s busy summer festival schedule. The band have made a habit of performing at summer festivals the past few years since the release of their last album in 2016 and this year is no different, as they will be performing live in Cornwall, Edinburgh, Dublin, Madrid among other cities.

Formed by lead singer and only ever-present member Bobby Gillespie and Jim Beattie in Glasgow in 1982, Primal Scream are the epitome of an ever-changing and experimental rock outfit. Starting out with indie pop, they soon moved on to develop a psychedelic rock sound in the late 80s before, in 1991, adding an alternative dance element with the release of their most renowned album to date, Screamadelica. Their latest album, Chaosmosis, was released in 2016 and their current line up, after the sad news of the death of Martin Duffy last December, consists of Gillespie (lead vocals), Andrew Innes (guitar, keyboards), Darrin Mooney (drums, percussion), and Simone Butler (bass guitar, keyboards, percussion).

Joining them at the music series event to create a legendary double bill is the American psychedelic rock band and music project The Brian Jonestown Massacre, fronted by Anton Newcombe. The band, much like Primal scream, has undergone several transformations in terms of the music it has produced in its history and continues to be a vehicle of experimental rock music to this day. Formed in San Francisco in 1990, The Brian Jonestown Massacre initially developed a shoegaze sound, drawing on influences from similarly ethereal groups Spacemen 3 and My Bloody Valentine, before incorporating blues, folk and psychedelic sounds into their music, drawing heavily on a 60s aesthetic. The band recently released their 20th album, The Future Is Your Past, on 10th February 2023.

Tickets for the show are available now here.

Otherwise known as Jamie Alexander Treays, the singer’s number one album was released on 22nd July 2022 via Polydor Records. The Theory Of Whatever was proceeded by three singles, “The Old Style Raiders“, “St. George Wharf Tower“, and “Between The Rocks“. Before its release, Treays began to tease and promote the album’s release; on 27th April 2022 the singer confirmed The Theory Of Whatever’s release. The Theory of Whatever is the first release of new material since Jamie T’s break; the singer’s previous album Trick dropped in 2016.

Although The Theory Of Whatever is Jamie T’s first number one album, the singer has cracked the album charts top 5 four times before. The songwriter’s debut album Panic Prevention was released in 2007 and reached number 4 within the charts; the release was praised for its use of themes concerning youth culture and lyrical content. The singer’s second album Kings & Queens dropped two years later and charted at number 2; the album’s lead single “Sticks’ n’ Stones” also sired chart success and position within the singles charts top 20. Jamie T scored a hat trick in 2014 when Carry On Grudge reached number 4 within the album charts; Trick also charted well and placed at number 3.

English singer-songwriter Alfie Templeman has announced a UK headline tour, which will commence in October of this year. Ticket information can be found here, and the dates can be viewed at the end of the article.

The tour will commence at Edinburgh’s La Belle Angele, and will entail stops in London Cardiff, Sheffield, Liverpool and Leeds, to name just a few locations.

The tour announcement comes just a couple of months after the release of Templeman’s most recent album Mellow Moon, which was received warmly by both fans and critics alike. In a four-star review of the record, NME said that the 19-year-old songwriter’s newest album boasted “a huge, colourful pop sound while navigating anxiety through these joyously unpredictable songs.” They went on to say: “The album carefully twists and turns through Templeman’s headspace as he searches for answers to an escape from the doldrums of modern life, flickering between loss (‘Do It’) and reassurance (the buoyant, mood-lifting ‘Colour Me Blue’).”

The young star embarked on his very first headlining tour of the UK earlier this year, and he also made the journey to Australia for a run of headline shows in June.

Having been deeply interested in music from an early age, Templeman released his debut single “Orange Juice” in 2018 at the age of fifteen, and released his debut E.P. Like An Animal in October of that year through Chess Club Records. He went on to release two more E.Ps in 2019 entitled Sunday Morning Cereal and Don’t Go Wasting Time. Templeman released a “mini-album” in May of 2021 entitled Forever Isn’t Long Enough, and just this year released his debut full-length project Mellow Moon. You can listen to Templeman’s musical catalogue on all available streaming services.

The Bedfordshire-born songwriter also recently covered Harry Styles’ “As It Was” for the popular BBC Radio 1 show “Live Lounge”. You can watch/listen to the rendition down below.
