Two-time Grammy winning rock/hardcore band, Turnstile, has announced an exclusive headline show set in Halifax this summer. A part of the 2026 TK Maxx Presents Live at the Piece Hall Summer series, Turnstile will make their return to the UK on Wednesday 26 August 2026.

The Piece Hall in West Yorkshire has already lined up a busy summer calendar. Now with 41 acts on the lineup, the TK Maxx Live at the Piece Hall Summer series will be one of the largest outdoor gig series in the UK.

Turnstile announced the show on Instagram with a flyer including a painting of The Piece Hall by artist Claire Milbrath. The post can be seen below.

Official Charts reported that Nicky Chance-Thompson MBE DL FRSA, CEO of The Piece Hall Trust said: ‘2026 will see Turnstile playing at some of the world’s most iconic festivals and then here in Halifax at UK’s most iconic heritage venue.’ He also mentioned that ‘knowing how passionate our rock and metal community is, this gig will be off the scale – truly unmissable.’

The Baltimore group took home two Grammys this year: Best Rock Album for ‘Never Enough’ and Best Metal Performance for ‘Birds.’ Beginning as a hardcore punk group in 2010, the band has seen many iterations. But in 2021, their third album ‘Glow On’ saw them achieve breakthrough fame. 2025’s ‘’Never Enough’ peaked at 11 on the UK Albums Chart and Number 1 on the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart ahead of its Grammy success. The band are also up for International Group of the Year at the 2026 BRIT Awards this weekend.

But, the newfound fame has not changed the band. Mostly, the members remain in North Baltimore where they began. They stay because the hardcore, heavy music scene which the band sprung from still thrives there. But, in 2025 lead singer Brendan Yates told Pitchfork, the success of ‘Glow On’ had changed their lives, in that they were finally able to not worry about their ‘collective survival outside of music.’ Another change Yates mentions is the ‘ability to play the main stage’ as well as the band’s visibility, noting how they have gone from playing in the back parking lot of festivals to thousands of fans.

This August, they will play to 6,000 fans at The Piece Hall. Then later that week they will head to London’s Victoria Park to support Tyler, The Creator at All Points East on Friday August 28. These UK appearances mark the continuation of an exciting chapter in Turnstile’s 15 year grind toward major success.

Tickets for Turnstile’s headline show in Halifax at The Piece Hall go on sale Friday 27 February at 10am GMT. More information can be found here.

Halifax Piece Hall have announced an innovative ticket scheme in which customers can donate money to support grassroots music venues in the Calderdale Borough through Music Venue Trust’s (MVT) Pipeline Investment Fund.

The Piece Hall have become the first major venue in the UK to offer the option to donate and directly support independent local venues at the point of purchase. This is after the Piece Hall signed a landmark agreement with the Music Venue Trust as well as with promoters Cuffe and Taylor, allowing the venue to give customers the option to donate to the MVT via Ticketmaster.

The funding agreement with @musicvenuetrust means that for all 2024 shows at The Piece Hall, fans can add a donation to support grassroots music venues in Calderdale.

Music Venue Trust CEO, Mark Davyd spoke of the groundbreaking agreement via a press release, as he said: “This has been an incredibly challenging year for grassroots music venues, with more than 100 venues forced to close their doors to live music and many more at risk. It is absolutely vital that everyone in the music industry recognises the incredible strain the grassroots sector is under, and so it’s great to see The Piece Hall leading the way with a plan that will really make a genuine difference to other venues in the local area. We are extremely grateful to The Piece Hall and Cuffe and Taylor for coming together to support the whole ecosystem around them – we hope it inspires others to follow.”

Alongside this, earlier this year the Music Venue Trust had also announced a public ownership scheme under the name #SaveOurVenues, in which they have their first acquisition: The Snug in Manchester. The initiative was first announced in May after venues like Nambucca in North London and Sheffield’s Leadmill was under threat of closing, in which Nambucca unfortunately did. The scheme is built to tackle ownership issues and secure long-term futures for grass-roots venues.

These innovations are in response to the Music Venue Trust’s warnings this year that many small music venues in the country were at a knife-edge, as the trust called out for other big players in the music industry to help. Earlier in the year, MVT CEO Mark Davyd said about this: “This is the best year for live music in the UK in terms of gross receipts that there’s ever going to be. It’s not possible to make an argument that this can be accompanied by 100 venues closing down, cutting down access to live music for communities and cutting off the talent pipeline for artists that’ll never get to play.”
