The album is due for official UK release on August 26th, but can be streamed for free via the iTunes store for a brief period. In an official statement on the bands website, frontman M. Shadows issued this message:

Hello everyone,

We have been waiting to show you all our brand new album “Hail to the King” for far too long. It took us nine months of writing, recording and preparation so that we could put out an album we are all proud of from start to finish. Well I’m excited to announce that the wait is over. We have teamed up with our friends at iTunes to start streaming the full album right now until it’s released. The stream is high quality and you can listen to the whole album as many times as you’d like. So plug in your best set of headphones and turn it up to 10. Head over there now to listen and pre order.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. See you all on the road!

M. Shadows

‘Hail to the King’ is the bands first album with new drummer Arin Ilejay, who officially joined the band earlier this year, having served as a touring member. It is also the first album entirely written in the absence of previous drummer Jimmy ‘The Rev’ Sullivan, who died suddenly in December 2009, at the age of 28.

The album incorporates blues influences and orchestral elements into their signature metal /punk sound. Early reviews have been largely positive.

Avenged Sevenfold will celebrate the albums release with an extensive tour across the States and Europe. The following UK dates have been confirmed:

December 1st – Wembley Arena

December 3rd – The 02, Dublin

December 5th – LG Arena, Birmingham
