The 29-year-old stepped up to the platform and covered a few topics including his lack of awards, not being brought up when people are making UK rap top 10 lists and flexes on listeners with the success he has amassed.

Before Yungens hiatus the rapper was putting out a number of singles and hits alongside artists from the UK scene, between 2017 adn 2019 he worked on tracks alongside Craig David, One Acen, M24, Dappy, Jess Glyne, Not3s, Mr Eazi, Mo Stack and Yxng Bane. Yungen had a number of hits such as his track “Beste” which he released in 2017 alongside Yxng Bane the track was one of the earliest tracks to come from the UK rap scene and have such commercial success, peaking on the charts at 10th and spending 31 weeks on the charts, as well as chart success the track also sits on just over 77 million Spotify streams. His track alongside Mr Eazi, Mo Stack adn Not3s was a steel Bnaglez track adn the song titled “Bad” reached 29th on the carts and sits on 55 million Spotify streams.

Yungen has been rapping for over 10 years and despite what he says in his Daily duppy, to real fans of UK rap is a legend within the scene. His career has seen his connection with fellow south London rappers Krept and Konan with Yungen being an official member of the Play dirty collective, he has also been involved in classic rap beef with grime star Chip in 2016 with the pair sending diss track back and forth.

Grm daily released a trailer last Wednesday showing the shadow of a man walking through the GRM offices to the freestyle set, with fans in the comments guessing who it could be. Names such as Dave, Bugzy Malone and Stormzy flooded the comments with only a few people correctly guessing the famed actor.

Idris Elba has been involved in music for well over 15 years, as a rapper and DJ, having co-produced and performed on the intro for Jay-Zs American gangster album in 2007. He has released projects and DJed at festivals such as Coachella, boardmasters and Elrow town. His daily duppy isn’t his first involvement with UK rap having dropped a remix to Skepta’s hit “Shutdown” in 2015 and appeared alongside Sean Paul, Steff London and Wiley on the smash hit “Boasy”.

The freestyle saw Idris flexing his muscles and accolades. Rapping about having Margot Robbie on speed dial, being in the Arsenal changing room after matches and his friendship with Anthony Joshua. Elba also shared that being James Bond isn’t part of his plan but that he will be making a Luther movie.

The freestyle was ultimately to announce that Idris Elba would be hosting this year GRM rated awards on the 18th of September alongside British model Jourdan Dunn.

The ‘Queen of south’ title has been heavily used by Shaybo, the Lewisham rapper used this title when speaking to her fans through a series of Instagram posts in June. The two posts posted within 9 days of each over addressed the 4 year Grenfell anniversary, the tragedy in the Westminster area where Shaybo worked as a support worker during that time. The second address was for Shaybos fans in school and University as she wished them luck on their results.

The plugs records have been the catalyst behind a lot of the US and UK collaborations often mixing the younger UK and US generations.

The Plug released their first project in 2019 and featured collaborations between D-Block Europe and Offset, Roddy rich, Chip and Yxng Bane, and Wstrn and Lil Baby. The tape titled ‘Plug Talk’ had 13 tracks with 17 UK acts, 11 North American acts, French rapper Lacrim and Dutch artist 3Robi.

‘Father figure’ sees The Plug between two of the most unique flows in global rap with M1llionz and G Herbo. The track will be released at 9 pm on Grm daily and with only a few seconds of the M1llionz verse in the single teaser posted by the UK music channel, it can be heard that M1llionz will be giving a flow that fans of him will not have yet heard.

The last M1llions release was in early June with his take on 50 cents ‘Candy shop’ with the similarly named ‘Bando spot’, the track that was released independently by M1llionzs label ten per cent music and charted at 65th. Since M1llionz has been away relaxing posting photos of his recent trip to Greece with his Instagram followers as well as this he and his management have been teasing an upcoming project.

G Herbo is a legend of US drill music, releasing music for over 6 years the Chicago rapper has released 10 projects. Releasing his latest project ‘25’ last Friday, the 19 track project will give the artist a good buzz ahead of the release of his collaboration with M1llionz.

The video for ‘Father Figures’ is available to watch here:

Squeeks has been away from the rap scene for a while after serving five years of a nine years sentence, after being found guilty of a number of armed robberies.

Squeekz came up in the Uk rap scene in the early 2010s around the same time as fellow Islington rappers Joe Black and Benny Banks as well as Mashtowns Margs who is now the host of one of the most popular UK podcast ‘No Behaviour’.

His most notable songs are ‘Usual suspects’ with Joe black which has over 3.9 million views, his Behind Barz on Link up tv currently sitting on 3.6 million views and his SBTV F64 on over 800,000 views.
