Recorded at Dan Carey’s studio, the single was co‑produced by Love and Carey. The collaboration elevates the track’s raw intensity, merging club sensibilities with Fat Dog’s anarchic flair. 

Originating from South London during the lockdown, Fat Dog rapidly became known for chaotic, genre‑blending live performances, merging elements of punk, dance, and klezmer‑tinged arrangements. Their debut, WOOF., brought them major attention in 2024, with NME declaring it a five‑star explosive force in UK music.

The music video, directed by Dylan Coates, shows Love as a deranged preacher whipping a congregation into weird worship, the video’s lo‑fi aesthetic perfectly mirroring the track’s unhinged spirit.

‘Pray To That’ builds naturally on the momentum of earlier singles like ‘Peace Song’, released in late 2024, and tracks from WOOF. such as ‘King of the Slugs’, ‘All the Same’ and ‘Running’. Each release showcases a fearless blending of techno, punk, and surreal lyricism.

Fat Dog continue their live maelstrom through the summer festival season, including appearances at Boomtown, Green Man, Boardmasters, Iceland Airwaves and others, before embarking on a full U.S. headlining tour starting September 2025

The band also played a twice at this year’s Glastonbury Festival; once on the Woodsies stage, and then a secret set at Strummerville. 

In short, ‘Pray To That’ captures Fat Dog’s ethos: music that’s visceral, unfiltered, and uncompromising. It’s a track for dancing through disillusionment, for laughing at the void. If you’ve ever wanted your anxiety set to bassline intensity—and your existential dread served with a side of dark wit—this is your anthem.

Friday evening at Glastonbury 2025 saw the likes of Loyle Carner, Alanis Morissette and Wet Leg take to the stages at Worthy farm, but Getdown Services cut the the crowd with an announcement that they would be performing a secret set the following evening. 

On Saturday morning, the band announced that they would be taking to the Crow’s Nest stage at 00:15. Located at the top of The Park stage, the Crow’s Nest is one of the smallest stages at the festival, so unsurprisingly, the tent was packed to the rafters by midnight on Saturday.

The only performance that the band were originally scheduled for was on Sunday, in the Croissant Neuf stage. Taking to the stage at 17:30 and clashing with Rod Stewart, Getdown Services had a lot of competition for their slot. However, Ben & Josh soon made their feelings apparent, stating “Rod Stewart looks like an old sofa – but he has great hair”.

The Croissant Neuf tent was even busier than the Crow’s Nest the previous night, with fans standing in the blistering heat just to try and get a look at the stage. 

The duo stated at many points throughout their set that they have been overwhelmed by the amount of people who turned up to both of their shows so far and expressed their gratitude profusely. Guitarist Josh Law went as far as to say that “I’ll probably cry later on”.

Having poked fun at his face, hair and political views throughout the set, Getdown Services concluded their performance with a satirical rendition of Rod Stewart’s “D’ya Think I’m Sexy?”, with both members reading lyrics from their phone.

Having been announced earlier in the week, Getdown Services finished their Glastonbury with a teatime television performance on BBC 2.

Looking nervous and stating “I’ve never been on the beeb before”, the band performed their song ‘Dog Dribble’ as part of the BBC’s Sunday highlights coverage.

The three sisters took to The Park stage, which they’d previously declared as their favourite stage in in the festival, as it was there that their first Glastonbury set took place in 2013. At around 7.45pm, the band kicked things off, filling in a ‘TBA’ slot on the schedule.

Their setlist include hits like ‘The Wire’ from their 2013 album ‘Days Are Gone’, some tracks from ‘Women In Music Pt.III’ including ‘Now I’m In It’ and ‘Gasoline’, and some live favourites like ‘The Steps’ and ‘Want You Back’, before closing things with ‘Down To Be Wrong’ from their 2025 album ‘I Quit’.

During their set, they experienced some sound issues with their microphones, and fans could be heard shouting for the music to be turned up, as it was being drowned out by other stages. But these difficulties were eventually corrected.

Speculation of HAIM’s secret set was fuelled when they joined Jo Whiley for an interview on BBC Radio 2 on June 12. Danielle HAIM spoke of their affinity for the upcoming festival and The Park stage. “We love The Park Stage. The Park Stage is our favourite, ’cause that was like the first time we came to Glastonbury, we got to play The Park Stage. It felt like a movie,”

“It was like, ‘What is going on? How did we get here?’ And also just like… you never forget the first time you step onto the farm. And it’s the most insane feeling, I think, that you’ll ever have. But it was incredible, it’s the best festival in the world.”

When Whiley suggested that HAIM might be free that weekend, bassist/vocalist Este Haim hinted that they “shall be in the area”, and that they picked Doechii as their must-see for the festival.

The Guardian gave a positive four-star review to their set, saying “Down to Be Wrong, a highlight of the record, provides a spectacular final song: Danielle’s voice sounds sublime on the chorus, and it’s even better when sung back to her by a devoted, ardent crowd.”

Capaldi featured in Glastonbury 2025 as one of the festival’s surprise sets. Taking to the Pyramid stage on Friday (June 27), he gave a triumphant performance that featured favourites of his like ‘Someone You Loved’, as well as new material.

In between songs, Capaldi gladly declared “I’m f**king back, baby!”, completing his set at the festival where he struggled in 2023. Back then, Capaldi lost his voice and experienced pronounced tics, a symptom of his tourettes.

During his returning performance, he told the crowd “Second time’s a charm on this one,” referring to his struggles at his last set. He continued, saying, “I just wanted to come and finish what I couldn’t finish last time.”

Now, Capaldi is looking to come back in full swing with an arena tour in Autumn this year. Announcing the shows on social media with an atmospheric, lo-fi black-and-white trailer, Capaldi wrote: “About time I got back to work… hope to see you out there.”

The new tour dates listed on the video are as follows: Capaldi will kick things off in Sheffield’s Utilita Arena on September 7, followed by shows in Aberdeen on September 11 and Glasgow on September 13. He’ll then return to England for back-to-back shows in London at the O2 Arena, on September 17 and 18. The tour will then hit Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham and Cardiff, before closing out at Dublin’s 3 Arena on September 29.

During his Glastonbury performance, Capaldi premiered a new song titled ‘Survive’, an emotional number which addressed the challenging period in his career amidst his 2023 Glastonbury performance. The song is on course to become his sixth No. 1 single on the UK Top 40.

Jarvis Cocker & co were the heavy bookies’ favourites to play a secret set at this year’s festival, even after the band’s keyboard player, Candida Doyle, claimed that Glastonbury “weren’t interested” in hosting the Britpop icons this year.

Despite that, the Pyramid Stage was packed with both people and anticipation as the clock ticked towards 6:15 pm on Saturday (June 28).

As the ‘Patchwork’ set was due to kick off, a message flashed on the screen: “Are you ready for… Pulp summer”. The Sheffield band then took the stage and launched straight into ‘Sorted for E’s & Wizz’ and ‘Disco 2000’ before Cocker greeted those in attendance.

Cheekily opening up with “Did you know we were gonna play? How?” Cocker then went on to reminisce about the band’s first time headlining the Pyramid Stage in 1995, saying: “Those songs were played here 30 years and four days ago, they were played for the first time. You could say they were born at Glastonbury.

“We played here with 10 days notice after John Squire broke his collarbone. We were so nervous, but today feels very different – I feel relaxed.”

Pulp then broke into ‘Spike Island’ – the first single off their new chart-topping album ‘More’. Their first album in 24 years received rave reviews, including four-stars from NME,  as it earned Pulp their first Number One album in 27 years.

Pulp was far from the only big name to perform a secret set at this years festival. Kiwi pop sensation Lorde opened up the Woodsies tent, and Lewis Capaldi made an emotional return to the Pyramid Stage.

However, the biggest surprise came after alt-metal icons Deftones dropped out just hours before their appearance on the Other Stage. Stepping in to fill those big boots, Skepta rocked the stage with a ferocious 30-minute set.

Despite all the legendary performances at this years Glasto’ – including The Maccabees, Olivia Rodrigo and Supergrass – most of the attention has been focused on punk band Bob Vylan and Irish rap trio Kneecap.

A police investigation has been launched into Bob Vylan’s set after frontman, Bobby Vylan, led the crowd into chants of “free, free Palestine” and the perhaps more problematic “death, death to the IDF”. Check out the coverage of the controversy here at mxdwn.co.uk

The 33-year-old, known for his role as Steve Harrington in the popular TV show Stranger Things, started releasing music back in 2019 with his debut song ‘Roddy’ featured on his first album ‘Twenty Twenty’. He released his second album ‘DECIDE’ in September 2022, featuring lead singles ‘Figure You Out’, ‘Half Life’, and his most popular song on Spotify, ‘End of Beginning’.

‘End of Beginning’ blew up on TikTok and reached the top charts on the UK Singles Charts and the Billboard Top 100. The song has over 1.5 billion streams worldwide and was one of the most-streamed songs last year. The viral success of this song skyrocketed Djo’s music, helping his musical talent and name become separate from his acting career as Joe Keery. 

The singer’s latest release was his third studio album ‘The Crux’, in April, with lead singles ‘Basic Being Basic’, ‘Delete Ya’, and ‘Potion’. ‘The Crux’ includes the song ‘Charlie’s Garden’, which pays homage to his Netflix co-star Charlie Heaton. 

Djo has been on a world tour for his latest album that started in North America before heading over to the UK and Europe with shows in London, Manchester, Glasgow, Oslo, Berlin, Warsaw, and Paris. His Glastonbury set closed out his Back On You World Tour. 

During his Glastonbury set, Djo prompted his fans to break out into a dance for his standout track ‘Basic Being Basic’ on his newest album. The singer was also featured in a backstage interview with BBC Radio One before his set, discussing his excitement for playing Glastonbury, explaining that it has “surpassed my imagination, it’s pretty unbelievable”. He also compared Glastonbury to Coachella, the famous music festival in California, explaining that the identity of Glastonbury is very singular and that you “can feel the history and that it’s been around for so long” and that there is “a passion that people have about this festival”.

Djo has upcoming performances in July, opening for Gracie Abrams in Dublin and Boston, as well as performances at other festivals including Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits Music Festival. See more upcoming tour dates here.

You can also see the actor Joe Keery later this year in the final season of Stranger Things on Netflix, released in three volumes on November 26, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. 

The Maccabees initially disbanded in 2017, with members pursuing individual creative projects. At the time, the split was regarded as one of the most noteworthy in recent music memory. However, the group surprised fans with news of their reunion late last year, followed by their first live performance in over half a decade on 20 June at The Dome in London. The show was held in support of the MS Society and marked the start of a short run of intimate warm-up gigs across Europe.

The band made their full-scale festival return at Glastonbury 2025 with a headline set on the Park Stage, closing out the weekend. The appearance was their first at Glastonbury in a decade and their sixth time performing at Worthy Farm.

Their setlist featured fan favourites from across their discography, including “Pelican,” “Precious Time,” and “X-Ray.” They opened with early single “Latchmere,” immediately setting an energetic tone for the emotional and celebratory set.

A highlight of the evening came when Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine joined the band on stage for a rendition of “Love You Better.” In a surprise moment, The Maccabees then sang the backing vocals to Welch on her own hit “Dog Days Are Over,” sending the crowd into a frenzy.

In a five-star review, NME described the performance as “one of The Maccabees’ most euphoric shows,” praising the band’s energy and the evident joy on stage. “There are few things more joyful than witnessing White grinning ear to ear as he hypes up the crowd between songs” the review read, noting that “Frontman Orlando Weeks, meanwhile, looks happier than ever, joining his bandmate in some rare instances of geeing up the crowd and looking truly appreciative of the moment.

Following their Glastonbury comeback, The Maccabees will continue their reunion with a series of UK summer dates, culminating in a headline performance at All Points East Festival in Victoria Park later this year. Tickets to their upcoming shows can be accessed here.

Olivia Rodrigo became the second youngest Glastonbury headliner at just 22 years old after Billie Eilish headlined at 20 years old back in 2022. The 22-year-old delivered an energetic and well-received performance filled with confidence and a powerful stage presence. Olivia actively moved around the entire stage during her performance and transitioned between emotional songs to high-energy rock and punk anthems. She showcased many outfits, including opening with a white lacy dress and later appearing in sparkly Union Jack shorts.

Olivia continued to excite the crowd by bringing out a surprise guest during her set. She brought out lead singer Robert Smith from the famous punk rock band, The Cure, introducing him as “perhaps the best songwriter to come out of England” and her “personal hero”. The two performed popular songs, ‘Friday I’m in Love’ and ‘Just Like Heaven’, together, becoming a notable highlight of the festival weekend.

The singer connected to her British fans by expressing her love for England and the cultural differences she appreciated, as an American singer, also shouting out her English boyfriend, who was watching her set backstage. She sang into a megaphone during ‘get him back!’ ending the weekend in fireworks and throwing drumsticks into the audience for her fans.

Rodrigo also performed at BST Hyde Park in London this past weekend on Friday, June 27. She brought out surprise guest, Ed Sheeran, performing his song ‘The A Team’ together.

Olivia Rodrigo released her debut song ‘drivers license’ back in 2021, which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Singles Charts, breaking a record for the most single-day streams. This debut song allowed her to break out of her former Disney Channel days where she started her career as an actor in shows Bizaardvark and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

She later released her debut album ‘SOUR’ that same year, which became the longest-running debut album in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 Chart this century. She released her second album ‘GUTS’ in 2023, with an extended version of the album in March 2024. These albums have skyrocketed her success in the past five years, receiving many awards.

Deftones expressed their disappointment in having to miss the show. The band said on their Instagram story, “We’re devastated to be missing out on something we’ve been looking forward to for months, but sometimes circumstances out of our control interfere with things we want to do the most.”

Without preparation, Skepta only had a DJ to perform alongside. Though, the Glastonbury crowd were in safe hands as he gave an impressive show, hyping the audience as he called out “Let’s go!!! No crew, no production but am ready to shut Glastonbury down. Victory lap time. Pre-Big Smoke 2025!”. The rapper gave massive energy and an unforgettable set with only 30 minutes on the mic, performing fan favourites ‘That’s Not Me’, ‘It Ain’t Me’ and ‘Greaze Mode’ among others.

If there weren’t enough surprises already, Skepta then performed his latest collaboration with Fred Again ‘Victory Lap’.

Skepta didn’t perform tracks from his current project ‘Knife And Fork’, but he did tease a potential collaboration, wearing a graphic tee that fans suspect to be in an upcoming line with the clothing label Corteiz and Skepta’s own label Boy Better Know.

Fans took to X to declare the artist the best replacement and one of the best sets of Glastonbury. One fan said this in reply to Skepta’s tweet post-Glastonbury, revelling in being able to pull off his set with such little notice.

Long time listeners have praised the London grime artist for his authenticity and artistry, which he spoke to Dazed about recently. The rapper said, “I don’t care about fame. Really. I care about art. I care about making the best song. I hate being famous”.

It was Carner’s biggest set of his career to date, with a higher crowd number than his previous appearance at Glastonbury 2023 on the West Holts Stage. After kicking things off with ‘In My Mind’ from his new album ‘Hopefully!’, he told the audience, “My name is Loyle Carner, this might be the biggest show we’ve ever played in our whole fucking lives man.”

He gave his fans a mix of classic hits and more recent numbers, backed by a band that enhanced his soulful hip-hop with funky, jazzy live instrumentation. The audience were treated to some older tunes like ‘Damselfly’ and ‘Ain’t Nothing Changed’ from his debut album ‘Yesterday’s Gone’. He also provided some tunes from later records, such as his second studio album ‘Not Waving, But Drowning‘. UK R&B stars Sampha and Jorja Smith both joined Carner onstage for their features on the album: with Sampha on ‘Desoleil (Brilliant Corners)’ and Smith on ‘Loose Ends’.

He delved into tracks from his third album, ‘Hugo’, such as ‘Homerton’ and ‘Nobody Knows (Ladas Road)’, the latter of which Carner finished by saying “F**k Nigel Farage”.

While introducing ‘Lyin’ from his new album, he gave fans an emotive story of how his son helped his anxiety on the way to the festival by singing music together on the drive there. “That’s why I sing – not because I’m good at it,” he said. “It feels good, you get me? This is only the fourth time in my life that I’ve sung in front of an audience I don’t know, so be easy on me.” His latest album, ‘Hopefully!‘ has seen Carner experiment with new musical styles, and singing as well as rapping.
