In response to the many confused fans who could not watch the performance on iPlayer, the English singer-songwriter explained on Twitter: “I’m getting a lot of messages asking about watching my @glastonbury set on iPlayer. Obviously, that would have been wonderful, but sadly due to hours on the day it wasn’t possible for the BBC to cover my set. Next time…! Xx”

Following the performance of The Bristol Reggae Orchestra and Windrush Choir, Sophie Ellis-Bextor performed at 12:15pm which made her the Pyramid Stage’s opening act for Sunday. She began by singing a cover of Cher’s “Take Me Home”, then performed her own songs “Young Blood” and “Get Over You”. Ellis-Bextor then sang “Lady”, “Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)”, “Sing It Back”, “Crying at the Discotheque”, “Like A Prayer”, and Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer). Ending her set, she sang “Murder on the Dancefloor” for her last song.

Other acts that performed the same day include The Chicks, Cat Stevens, Blondie, Lil Nas X, and Elton John. Sophie Ellis-Bextor posted a photo of her and the crowd at Glastonbury festival on Instagram. She described her performance as a “career highlight”.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor is an English singer and songwriter rose to fame as the lead singer of an indie rock band called Theaudience. After they disbanded, she became a successful solo artist.

She released her debut solo album in 2001 titled “Read My Lips”. The album peaked at number two on the UK Albums Chart and sold around 1.5million copies worldwide. The album consisted 10 songs with 4 released singles including “Take Me Home”, “Murder on the Dancefloor”, “Get Over You”/”Move This Mountain”, and “Music Gets the Best of Me”.

Her recent album Hana was released on June 2, 2023. This is her seventh studio album, and was inspired by a trip to Japan. Sophie released three singles starting with “Breaking the Circle” in February, “Everything Is Sweet” in March, and “Lost in the Sunshine” in April.

He made it to the Pyramid Stage at 9pm and opened his set with “Pinball Wizard”. After that, he said to the crowd: “I never thought I would ever play Glastonbury and here I am. It’s a very special and emotional night for me because it might be my last show ever in England, so I had better play well and I had better entertain you, you’ve been standing there so long and I really appreciate all the outfits and everything.”

Sir Elton performed a few more songs including “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” and “I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues”. Performing onstage with Elton John was Jacob Lusk of Gabriels and The London Community Gospel Choir for “ Are You Ready For Love?”

While introducing his second special guest, he told the crowd: “When I chose my guests for this show I wanted to have newer artists, save for one person, and this boy I heard last year on the radio. I’ve asked him to come to Glastonbury to do his song and he’s an amazing young talent.” Stephen Sanchez joined Sir Elton onstage and performed Sanchez’s hit song “Until I Found You”.

The next performer that joined Sir Elton John was Brandon Flowers who is The Killers’ frontman. Together they performed “Tiny Dancer”. Afterwards, he welcomed his last special guest Rina Sawayama to the stage and performed “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” together.

Sir Elton paid tribute to singer-songwriter George Michael with song “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.” He told the crowd: “He was my friend, he was an inspiration, and today would have been his 60th birthday, so I want to dedicate this song to his memory.”

In an emotional farewell, Sir Elton thanked the crowd, saying: “I also want to thank you for 52 years of amazing love and loyalty that you’ve shown me. It’s been an incredible journey. I’ve had the best time, I will never forget you, you’re in my head and my heart and my soul, you’ve been amazing. You’ve been an incredible crowd tonight. I wish you love and health and happiness.”

Great Western Railway posted a picture of Grohl and a member of the train operator’s service development team, with guitarist Pat Smear and bass player Nate Mendel in the background. In a tweet, GWR wrote: “Even rock royalty knows that there is no better way to travel to Glastonbury than by train! You never know who is going to churn up on board our trains!” The tweet was posted on social media after the band’s surprise set was performed.

The American rock band surprised fans at Glastonbury Festival on Friday, June 23. Prior to the big reveal, an unknown act named The Churnups were scheduled to perform on the Pyramid Stage at 6:15pm BST. On their Instagram, Foo Fighters posted a clip from their Friday performance. They wrote, “Thank you glastofest!!!”

The last time the band performed at Glastonbury Festival was in 2017. Onstage, Grohl asked the crowed, “Last time we played here was 2017 I don’t know how many of y’all were there that time?” They then performed their set including a touching song “Show Me How” dedicated to Grohl’s late mother.

As of now, Dave Grohl has performed at this year’s Glastonbury Festival three times. The first time he performed at the festival was when Foo Fighters revealed they were the mysterious act The Churnups. During this set, they dedicated their final song “Everlong” to Taylor Hawkins, their late drummer who passed away at the age of 50 last March. On Saturday, Grohl and Johnny Marr joined The Pretenders onstage, and the Foo Fighters’ frontman joined Guns N’ Roses for the song “Paradise City”. Guns N’ Roses were the headlining act for Saturday’s festival.

Foo Fighters’ appearance at Glastonbury Festival is the band’s first full gig in the UK since the death of their drummer, Taylor Hawkins. However, they did hold a tribute concert to Taylor in London last year. Recently, the band confirmed that they will be going on tour next summer and be returning to the UK. They wrote on Instagram, “Stay tuned…” along with a video.

“I wrote this next song because I was sick and tired of microaggressions. So, tonight, this song goes out to a white man who watches Ghetto Gaggers and mocks Asian people on a podcast. He also owns my masters. I’ve had enough,” she said to the Glastonbury audience. Despite not mentioning his name, Sawayama was referring to Matty Healy as the “white man” in her speech.

On an episode of The Adam Friedland Show, Healy admitted to watching a pornography series in which black women are “brutalised” and degraded by white men. He also joined in with mocking the US rapper Ice Spice which they made racist jokes regarding her heritage. The hosts referred to the rapper as an “Inuit Spice Girl” and “This chubby Chinese lady”. They then proceeded to mock Japanese, Chinese, and Hawaiian accents while Healy laughed. The offensive episode has since been removed from Apple and Spotify.

Both musicians, Rina Sawayama and Matty Healy’s band The 1975, are signed under same label, Dirty Hit, which is a British independent record label. The 1975 was one of the first acts to be signed on to the label and achieved mainstream success. Since then, other artists under this label include beabadoobe, No Rome, and Pale Waves.

Healy served as director of Dirty Hit Limited, the private limited company behind the record label Dirty Hit, and held the position for 5 years from December 2018 until his termination on April 4, 2023 for unspecified reasons.

However, Healy made somewhat of an apology to Ice Spice for his derogatory remarks on the Adam Friedland Show podcast. At a concert in New Zealand, he said, “I just feel a bit bad, and I’m kind of a bit sorry if I’ve offended you. Ice Spice, I’m sorry. It’s not because I’m annoyed that me joking got misconstrued. It’s because I don’t want Ice Spice to think I’m a dick. I love you, Ice Spice. I’m so sorry.”
