Presented by entrainment company Good Life, the “Back To Life” hitmakers will also be joined by a host of acts. The full day event’s lineup also includes a DJ set by English electronic outfit Maribou State, Frankie Stew & Harvey Dunn, Jyoty, Poppy Ajudha, Porih and many more acts which will be confirmed in due course. Along with the Hasting Pier stage, the festival will also include an Emerging Talent Stage. Set to perform on the second stage are Elisha Edwards, Mighty sounds, Someone/Anyone, Rsha and more artists yet to be confirmed.

Along with the special musical guests, ticket holders will be treated to spoonfuls of free ice cream, courtesy of Ben & Jerry’s new sundae range. Festival goers will be able to enjoy such flavours as Cookie Vermont-ster, Hazel-nuttin’ but Chocolate, Oh My! Banoffee Pie! And Non-Dairy Berry Revolutionary. The event will also offer further fun activities and themed attractions such as a large Cookie Dough climbing wall and a Banoffee Pie ball pit. The summer day of fun will also include a beautiful fireworks display, various bars and multiple performers.

Ben & Jerry’s Resident office DJ Victoria Witter has given the following statement,  “If there is one thing better than a creamy tub of whipped Sundaes on a summer’s day, it’s rocking out to an entire Sundaes-inspired festival by the beach! Sundaes On The Pier takes Ben Jerry’s fun-filled festival experience to a whole new level, with amazing acts, better attractions and even more ice cream! As Ben Jerry’s resident office DJ, I’m super excited to hand over the playlist responsibilities to the professionals for one day only so I can kick back in the sun.”

Music fans can get their hands on a ticket by signing up via this link. The lucky winners will be chosen at random and will receive a notification and invitation on 10th June 2022. The confirmation will also include an offer for the winner to claim their pair of tickets.

All proceeds occured through the ticket sales will be donated to a local charity. The Refugee Buddy Project is a leading organisation which aims to supply support for refugees. A statement provides further information concerning the charity’s most successful programme, “This is where it all started. Buddying is at the heart of what we do, matching local families with newly arriving people seeking refuge. We started in Hastings in 2017, branching out in the Bexhill area in early 2019, and from May 2019 became active in Wealden as well.”

The pair’s tour will begin in Manchester at Academy 2 on September 6th, before ending at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town on September 17th. Whilst Frankie and Harvey are set for a very busy September, playing ten dates across eleven days, it will undoubtedly be a welcomed return to the stage for the duo. Perhaps most importantly, they are set to return to their native Brighton for a homecoming show on the penultimate night of the tour, playing at Concorde 2 on September 16th.

The artists’ announcement of rescheduled UK tour dates comes straight after the release of their new project ‘Handle With Care’ on March 19th. The 8-track EP sees Frankie’s introspective lyricism combine with Harvey’s soulful but melancholic production to create a record that often looks inward. Discussing the new project with Wordplay Magazine, Frankie said, “The whole thing was made throughout lockdown as you said and I found this most recent one very hard, to be honest, so the album, body of work, whatever you wanna call it represents how I was feeling during that time.”

He added, “It’s a snapshot project and one that’s very reflective of these times. A lot of people will relate to these universal feelings.” Indeed, ‘Handle With Care’ perfectly captures the gloomy feelings that many people have had to wrestle with during the COVID-induced national lockdowns.

‘Handle With Care’ follows on from their 2020 album ‘Breathing Exercises’, which was a similarly reflective record. Exploring themes of mental health, depression, and anxiety, Frankie’s relaxed flows and Harvey’s warm downtempo production provide the perfect sonic environment for this therapeutic music. Fans will certainly be looking forward to witnessing the musical chemistry between these two play out live on-stage once again.
