Frank Turner has done it!

He has beaten the World Record for most shows, played in multiple cities, in 24 hours. The U.K. musician performed 15 shows in 24 hours over the weekend, breaking Hunter Hayes’ record of 10.

Frank Turner took to the road last weekend in an audacious attempt to break the World Record (which stood at ten) for most shows, played in multiple cities, in 24 hours. And the musician, who is originally from Hampshire, succeeded in his attempt playing 15 different shows between the hours of 12.30 p.m. on the 4th and 5th of May 2024. Although his attempt has not yet been verified by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Turner’s attempt was in honour of the U.K. Music Venue Trust (a U.K. charity that supports grassroots venues), and he played 15 shows of 20 minutes (or more) in support of independent music venues. Each show was ticketed by an independent record store and held in an independent venue. He beat the previous world record held by Hunter Hayes, who performed 10 concerts in different cities in 24 hours back in 2014. Prior to Hayes, Flaming Lips were the record-holders with eight shows in 2012.

“I’m extremely proud — and yet more exhausted — after completing the challenge to get the world record,” he said in a statement. “The main drive for me was to highlight the work of independent venues and record shops and the Music Venue Trust, as well as bringing over 3000 people together in 24 hours for a good time. I did 24 shows in 24 hours in London in 2009, but this was arguably a bigger challenge, and a more official one. Time for some sleep!”

On Saturday, he shared a “before” photo on Instagram, where he thanked those joining him to make the endeavour a reality, but also jokingly admitted “This is a terrible idea” before adding the rallying message of “Let’s do this.”

Frank Turner is back!

His latest album ‘Undefeated’ debuts on the 3rd of May, and it’s fair to say that it is generating a lot of excitement among fans of Frank. So far, Frank has released three songs from the new album and the latest song, ‘Letters’, comes complete with a new music video.

The track is taken from Frank’s upcoming 10th album, Undefeated, which is due out on May 3 via Xtra Mile.

The latest single also came with an announcement of a European tour, and he told UK fans to ‘stay tuned’ via his social media. So here’s hoping for a UK tour announcement soon, too.

“Letters is a song that I’ve been working on for a long time,” he reveals. “In some ways, I’ve been writing it since a genuine pen-friendship of mine dried up when I was a kid, when the mixtapes stopped coming through the post.

“It’s a song about communication and its breakdown, about nostalgia for teenage romance, and about how reassessing those things as an adult can be the start of a healing process.”

Francis Edward Turner (born 28 December 1981) is an English punk and folk singer-songwriter from Meonstoke, Hampshire. He began his career as the vocalist of the post-hardcore band Million Dead, then embarked upon a primarily acoustic-based solo career following the band’s split in 2005. In the studio and during live performances, Turner is accompanied by his backing band, The Sleeping Souls, which consists of Ben Lloyd (guitar, mandolin), Tarrant Anderson (bass), Matt Nasir (piano, mandolin) and Callum Green (drums).

To date, Turner has released nine solo albums, four compilation albums of rarities, one retrospective “best of” album, one split album, and five EPs. Turner’s ninth and most recent studio album, FTHC, was released on 11 February 2022 and reached number 1 in the UK albums chart in the week following its release.

You can catch Frank in Europe here.

He is also scheduled to play at 2000Trees this summer.

The 2019’s No Mans Land, saw Frank Turner change his sound almost completely on some tracks to rewrite history as we know it. Frank Turner is prepping up for the release of his ninth solo album, Frank Turner Hard Core, or FTHC for short. Leaning on his back foot from his days with Million Dead, Turner amps up his songwriting with the use of electric guitar rather than his trusted acoustic. With his authentic sound still thriving in the mix, even as Turner reinvents himself again.

FTHC is set to drop on February 11th, 2022. To keep us sane in the wait, Frank Turner has dropped the new track “Non Serviam”. Showing us anger in the raw screams and quick pace that we haven’t seen before in Frank’s music. This change in sound has been met with an incredible reception, and people now believe Frank Turner when he said promised the album “goes in a bit harder“. Coming in after “I Haven’t Been Doing So Well”, this new insight into FTHC leaves lots of questions about what can be expected from the record. You can pre-order FTHC here.

Frank Turner has been touring the globe under his own name for over 15 years and has really achieved it all; which he goes into detail about in his book The Road Beneath My Feet (2015). Now as he gears up for a huge headliner across the UK in early 2022, Turner may be playing some of his wildest shows with these new songs, and they won’t be ones to be missed. Touring alongside Pet Needs and Truck Stop HoneyMoon, with a special appearance from Snuff for Brixton’s show only. You can grab your tickets here, and be sure to get them soon before they sell out.

Campfire-punk rock cult hero Frank Turner has been making headway ever since 2006. Releasing some of British music’s classic albums from Love Ire & Song (2008) to Tape Deck Heart (2013), to even his historical concept album No Man’s Land (2019). Turner has been bringing positivity and building bridges for almost two decades, complaining about American politics on the ironically titled song “Make America Great Again”, to straight-up telling people to “Be More Kind”- the titled track off of his 2018 album. From Playing at the Olympics to releasing books about music, Frank Turner has done it all.

Frank Turner is now back with his ninth solo album, FTHC, or Frank Turner Hardcore. Possibly leaning on his days with punk-rock band Million Dead, Frank Turner is getting ready for this huge release. Giving us a hint at its sound with upbeat, and more rock-sounding “Haven’t Been Doing So Well”. Trading in his acoustic guitar for his shiny sounding electric, Frank Turner preps us for one of the most exciting turns in his career. There are still signs of his love for that country twang peppered throughout. “It’s exciting to finally get the new music I’ve been working on out into the world after the last miserable 18 months,” Turner said in a statement. The album is set to drop on February 11th, 2022.

Alongside this news, Frank Turner is gearing up for ‘The Never-Ending Tour of Everywhere’ that will see him play… well everywhere. Including stops in Newcastle, Reading, and the city that made him, London. Touring alongside Pet Needs and Truck Stop HoneyMoon, with a special appearance from Snuff for Brixton’s show only. These shows range in size and are sure to be some of Frank’s best shows to date, having had so much time to build up to them.
