The organisers of the festival released a statement to apologise for the cancellation and the disappoint they have caused for those who looked forward to. Read the full statement below.

“We are sorry to disappoint the Forest Live fans who were hoping to see bands in the nation’s forests this summer but we have cancelled Forest Live 2020 to keep everyone safe in line with recent government guidance on the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.

“We really hope that everyone’s support to fight COVID-19 means the situation will have improved by the summer however, as well as our valued customers, we work with a large number of volunteers, artists and contractors, to make these concerts happen and have taken this decision in the interest of safety for everyone involved.

“Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to reschedule our concerts. Ticket holders will be contacted by their point of purchase and will be automatically refunded. We ask for your patience and understanding at this busy time.”

Forest Live 2020 was scheduled to take place in Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest, Kent for three days from June 12 to 14. Former Oasis member Noel Gallagher was booked to bring his band High Flying Birds to perform. Among the line-up also appear Jack Savoretti, Keane, Kaiser Chiefs, James Morrison, Will Young, Madness, and Rag’n’Bone Man. English pianist Jools Holland was also planned to perform at the gig along with Blues Orchestra.

Forest Live is an annual major live music series managed by the Forestry Commission and is held in seven beautiful forest locations across the country. Income in which is generated from the ticket sales helps look after the nations forests sustainably, for people to enjoy wildlife to thrive. The Forest Live is known for its informal and relaxed atmosphere which is accompanied by a beautiful forest backdrop.

Jess Glynne said: ‘I do hope you can join me in the Summer as part of Forest Live. I am really looking forward to performing in these unique woodland locations around the country.’

Glynne has been an artist who has been in the charts since 2014 with her release of ‘Rather Be’ with Clean bandit and her album ‘I Cry When I laugh’ has held its place in the charts for 138 weeks and counting. Since the release of her first album she has also got her chart-topping studio album ‘Always In Between’ which went straight into the number one spot. ‘I’ll Be There’ secured Glynne the seventh top spot and gave her the record for the most number one singles by a female solo artist. Next year Jess Glynne will also be on tour supporting the Spice Girls.

Other artists performing alongside Jess Glynne as a part of the Forest Live event are Jack Savoretti, Paul Weller and Tears for Fears. Glynne will be playing five spectacular shows next year and you can purchase tickets here.
