This will be a special, one-off gig on Tuesday September 29. The duo will be supported by the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra as they reimagine tracks from their 2014 album with symphonic resonance.

The show marks their only UK show for 2026. In the post, linked below, the band says “just thinking about this night makes us teary-eyed.”

While the first half of the evening will consist of ‘Stay Gold’ performed in full, they promise the second half to be “a mix of [their] favorite songs, old and new.”

‘Stay Gold’ is the band’s breakthrough album, having been certified Platinum by the Swedish Recording Industry Association in January 2015, just seven months after its release. After the duo appeared on the Graham Norton Show, the album soared from Number 54 to 11, selling 7,726 copies. It was then certified Gold by the British Phonographic Industry in April 2015. The album holds an 80 overall score on Metacritic with critics saying the album “has a rich texture of classic country instrumentation and stirring string arrangements, matching their soaring vocal melodies.” The album includes some of their most popular tracks, ‘My Silver Lining’ currently has over 288 million streams on Spotify while the title track, ‘Stay Gold’ has over 40 million.

The 65-piece Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, hailing from the band’s homeland, will support them in bringing these beloved ‘Stay Gold’ tracks to fans at the Royal Albert Hall. The band said the upcoming show “truly feels like a dream come true.” Previously, the Swedish sisters, Klara and Johanna Söderberg, played a show with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra in January 2025. There, the band played ‘Stay Gold’ in its entirety, in celebration of 10 years since the album’s release. They called the show an “incredible priviledge” and said that the “songs have never sounded better.” Now, they are set to bring the experience to the UK for the first time.

First Aid Kit released their most recent album, ‘Palmino’ in 2022, which was the their first studio project since 2018. It scored 4 stars from NME and a 7/10 from Clash, who called it, “deeply personal and moving” and it was the band’s “most conventionally ‘pop’ work yet whilst still offering the sisters’ unique blend of folk and Americana.”

The show on Tuesday September 29 will be the duo’s second time appearing at the Royal Albert Hall, with their last appearance being in 2014. Presale begins on Wednesday March 11 at 10 AM GMT. Presale codes will be given out to fans who sign up for First Aid Kit’s text or email list by 9am GMT on Wednesday, 11 March.
Writing on Twitter they said “We’re devastated to have to cancel the planned summer dates this year. We were super excited to play, but because of unforeseen medical circumstances we simply cannot do the shows. All will be okay and we look forward to seeing you soon again. Lots of love and magic, K & J” Fans are understandably devastated at the news.

The band were due to play their 2018 album “Ruins” on their summer tour. The NME described the album as “There’s something endearing about First Aid Kit’s dedication to their sound. ‘Distant Star’ is a classic country ballad imbued with both bounce and the blues, while the album’s title track pays more tribute to Fleet Foxes with its almost medieval melody, and ‘Hem Of Her Dress’ provides a Leonard-Cohen-meets-mariachi coda”.

The band are famous for their outspoken and critical views of the patriarchal nature of the music industry, as well as their anthemic indie music. Speaking to The NME at the red carpet of the 2019 Brits festival the band said “We live in a patriarchy. It’s so engrained, There’s a long way to go. Also, not just the actual artists that play but behind the stages as well – there are hardly any women anywhere. In our industry, we don’t really see women a lot unless we employ them; which we try to do as much as possible. I just wish it was more diverse on stage and behind the stage as well”

Despite the absence of First Aid Kit at All Points East the festival still displays an incredible line up consisting of The Chemical Brothers, Mumford & Sons, Hot Chip, Primal Scream and Peggy Gou. Whilst SWG3 has a range of shows from artists including Orbital, Skream & Under One Roof.

Swedish songstress Robyn has given her fans an exciting update, in regards to her next album.

Robyn hasn’t released any new music for bordering on eight years, with her last album coming in the form of 2010’s Body Talk, and fans have been anxious to hear news from her on any new music for quite some time. Since then she has made a few guest appearances, such as on Todd Rundgren’s track ‘That Could Have Been Me’, but the clamour has been for her to release a solo, full length LP.

In a Twitter exchange (seen below), a fan put the question to Robyn about new music, and to the surprise of many, she responded. When asked who is responsible for determining the record’s release date, she replied “I do. Some time this year honey”.

I do. Some time this year honey

— Robyn (@robynkonichiwa) February 7, 2018

Whilst there has been a lack of music in recent times, Robyn has been far from quiet, and last year, she joined her compatriots Zara Larsson, First Aid Kit, and Tove Lo, in signing a letter decrying sexual abuse in Sweden’s music industry.

Th letter was published in Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter last week, and reads: “We demand zero tolerance for sexual exploitation or violence. Sexual assault or violence will have consequences in terms of terminations of contracts. We will put shame back where it belongs—with the perpetrators and the people protecting them.”

In 2017, Metronomy frontman Joe Mount revealed that he was a potential collaborator on Robyn’s new album, telling NME “I’ve been working with people on my own stuff, some new stuff, and I’m off to see Robyn in March to try and do some stuff with her.

“I’ve just been a bit of family man recently…but every time I do something with Robyn I get very excited, so hopefully I’ll be heavily involved in her next record but we’ll see.
