Loreen was also crowned winner in 2012 for her song, “Euphoria” and was rendered the bookmakers clear favourite to win this years Eurovision. Visitors of Eurovisionworld predicted in the Eurovision Poll that Loreen was going to win. In terms of results, as Sweden has the most wins, Finland takes the cake in the most public votes. Loreen has been a rising star on the music scene, eversince her appearance on Swedish Idol 2004. For the past few years, she has gained national recognition for her hit singles, “Euphoria” and “Statements.” Her uniqueness of sound contains an elemented blend of pop, dance and electronic music, which has won her fans from all the walks of life. Her performance at the Eurovision Song Contest that truly solidified her status as a musical force to be reckoned with. From the moment she stepped onto the stage, dressed in a stunning silver and black jumpsuit, she effortlessly encourages the audience’s attention with her powerful vocals and infectious energy.

As she sang her song, “We Got The Power”, her undeniable passion and charisma shone through, electrifying the room and inspiring thousands of viewers at home to dance and sing along. The judges were equally impressed by Loreen’s performance, awarding her top marks for her vocals, creativity, and stage presence. In the end, she emerged as the clear winner with a commanding lead over the contestants.

The BBC Eurovision cast went to interview her to express her thoughts on being crowned the winner. She started off by saying, “Darling, I didn’t think I’d do it ever again,” she said. “But then they sent me the song and I could just feel it was a good song, and then they popped the question. “The answer?” BBC asked, Loreen responds, “Hell no”. It took her team, with the inclusion of the same songwriter and producers of Euphoria four weeks to change her mind and encouraged her to go for the double gold in Liverpool.

Looking ahead, Loreen has big plans for her music career. She hopes to continue pushing the boundaries of pop music and experimenting with new sounds and styles that will keep her fans on their toes.

To accompany the sparse gloomy sound, the music video for “Enemy” punctuates slow-moving 2D Gothic-esque visuals with lyrics that fade in to and out from the screen. Wallowing in self-pity, the track battles the ‘enemy’ from within. See the video below.

Produced by Dronicon Films, the music video for “Enemy” follows the same style as their prior music video for “Woven Into Sorrow”, both dark animated adaptations of their bleak sound into visual form. The frontman Mikko Kotamäki has described their previous single “Woven Into Sorrow” as “probably the gloomiest track of the album”, as per NextMosh, with Kotamäki adding “enjoy the misery”. “Enemy” is a clear continuation of this doom and gloom, displaying their pleasure in wallowing in misery.

The music videos for “Enemy” and “Woven Into Sorrow” are to promote their upcoming album Moonflowers, released on the 19th of November. Their eighth album follows on the success of their previous, When a Shadow Is Forced into the Light, which peaked at the No.1 spot in the Finnish charts. Slowly breaking into the American market, their previous two albums have both appeared in top 20 slots in the US Heatseekers Charts.

Comprising of Mikko Kotamaki (vocals), Matti Honkonen (bass), Juuso Raatikainen (drums), Juho Raiha (guitars), and Juha Raivio (guitars), the four-piece death-doom band are long-serving veterans of the genre, pioneering a unique sound within the form.
