Luke Huxham of Broadwick Live has given the following statement concerning the festival’s birthday, “We always wanted our 15th anniversary to be our best ever, and it was incredible to celebrate this milestone with so many people in our spiritual home of Victoria Park. Connecting the best artists in the world, both living icons and meteoric talent, with passionate audiences through the power of live music is why we love what we do.”

Over the years, All Points East’s Field Day has evolved into an event committed to Dance and electronic music. This year’s Field Day lineup further confirmed such a reputation when pioneering groups Chemical Brothers and Kraftwerk 3D took to the London stage. German masters of the electronic genre, Kraftwerk were first to take the stage at Victoria Park. Their Field Day show was one of the concluding performances of their 3D tour and saw the duo bring their unique brand of dance music and kaleidoscopic visuals to the capital. Their set included many of the group’s beloved hits including “Trans-Europe Express”, “The Model” and “Tour De France”.

Billed to close this year’s Field Day was The Chemical Brothers, the English dance-electronic outfit made sure to pull out all the stops within their set. Their headlining performance was packed with hit singles such as “Galvanise”, “Swoon” and “Star Guitar”. Speaking on the group’s set, CEO and Field Day organiser Gareth Cooper has stated, “That was bigger and better than anything London has seen or heard this year. The Chemical Brothers’ unmissable live set shows why no act has had a bigger impact in UK electronic music, both here and internationally. The Chemical Brothers really showed London how it’s done!”

During the day, those in attendance were treated to a long list of artists who performed across the six stages. Also billed to appear at yesterday’s event were Peggy Gou, Bklava, CICI, Daniel Avery, Eliza Rose, Erol Alkan, a DJ set by Fjaak, Floating Points, Emerald B2B Jossy Mitsu, Helena Star, Kareem Ali, Logic 1000, Luxe and Mary Anne Hobbs.

The festival’s lineup and event schedule span an impressive ten days, ticketholders are able to obtain access to a varied offering of events and activities. Representing the music aspect of the festival is an impressive lineup of acts spanning from various genres and eras.

Billed to appear on the festival’s first day 7th October 2022 is Mel C, the former Spice Girl will be in discussion with Cathy Newman during the Cheltenham Literature Festival. The pair’s back and forth will be live broadcasted via The Ladder, Newman’s Times Radio show. A description of Mel C’s appearance states, “Mel C reveals all about the good and bad times of her fame and life with The Spice Girls in her long-awaited memoir Who I Am: My Story,”

Set to take the stage on 14th October 2022 is Nick Cave, the iconic musician will be speaking with Sean O’Hagan, a journalist for the Observer and a friend of Cave. The creative pair will be discussing their recent collaboration, Faith, Hope and Carnage. The book charts six years of Cave’s life and draws from over 40 hours of interviews between himself and O’Hagen.

Scheduled to be released on 20th September 2022, a synopsis provides further details concerning the book, “Faith, Hope & Carnage promises to be a thoughtful book about Cave’s inner life over the last six years, a meditation on big ideas including, faith, art, music, grief and much more, It is a project prompted by lockdown, and one that sits comfortably alongside Cave’s weekly mailing list The Red Hand Files. It is at once borne of and in some sense a tribute to the stillness – and imperative period of reflection – wrought by a global pandemic.”

The next day on 15th October 2022, British icon Jarvis Cocker will be appearing at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, the former Pulp frontman will be discussing his book and “reveal secrets from his early life in Sheffield”. The singer’s memoir Good Pop, Bad Pop was originally released in 2020 and was named as BBC Radio 4’s Book of the Week. A synopsis of the book states, “From a Gold Star polycotton shirt to a pack of Wrigley’s Extra, from his teenage attempts to write songs to the Sexy Laughs Fantastic Dirty Joke Book, this is the hard evidence of Jarvis’s unique life, Pulp, 20th-century pop culture, the good times and the mistakes he’d rather forget. And this accumulated debris of a lifetime reveals his creative process – writing and musicianship, performance and ambition, style and stagecraft.”

On the festival’s last day 16th October 2022, U2 frontman Bono will make an appearance at the event’s The Times & The Sunday Times forum. During his slot, the “With Or Without You” singer will be discussing and reviewing his upcoming memoir. Entitled Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story, the book has been given a publication date of 1st November 2022 via publishing house Alfred A. Knopf.

During their performance on 30th July 2022, the hitmakers halted midway through their set whilst performing their recent release “Girl Like Me”. Upon seeing an audience member in need of medical assistance, singer Will.i.am stopped the set and asked fellow audience members to “Clear the way” to help medics get through the crowd. After urging those in attendance to put “Safety First” the group resumed their set, the band concluded the performance with a collection of hits including beloved classics such as “Where Is The Love?” and “I Gotta Feeling”.

Along with founding and leading bandmember Will.i.am, the group includes rapper apl.de.ap and singer Taboo. As well as new material, The Black Eyed Peas also brought to the Newcastle stage their new line up. After the departure of bandmember Fergie, the singer was replaced by J. Rey Soul. Otherwise known as Jessica Reynoso, the singer was first introduced to the world as a finalist on The Voice of the Philippines season 1 and was part of band member Apl.de.ap’s team within the show. In 2018, the group confirmed that she would serve as the band’s female vocalist and was named an semi-official bandmate.

The Black Eyed Peas were joined by over 70 further acts who performed at this year’s LooseFest, other headlining acts included A J Tracey, Example, Clean Bandit and English singer-songwriter Mabel. The “Finders Keepers” singer was chosen to close out the festival and completed her headlining slot on the evening of Sunday 31^st July 2022.

One of LooseFest’s directors, Brian Austin has given a statement concerning the festival’s line up. Within the statement Austin focuses on the importance of booking female artists, “There are some very talented female artists on the music scene with emerging talent more prolific than ever. We love to champion talent, many who have emerged after finding their musical vocation (and decks) in lockdown. Securing international music artists like Mabel and Black Eyed Peas was a huge moment for the team, especially after the challenges for the music industry, It’s been intense, but we were determined to make it happen. We’re so proud of what we have achieved.”

The festival’s organisers are already confirming plans for next year’s event, fellow director of LooseFest Dean Saunders provides the following statement hailing the festival, “This has been everything we have ever dreamed of, so much work has gone on behind the scenes, day and night to try and make it as amazing as possible for everyone. It was incredible to see loads of people enjoying themselves again“.

A statement on the festival’s website provides a description of the group, “Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood are back in Montreux, close to 20 years after the Radiohead concert at the Festival! Completed by Tom Skinner (the brilliant drummer of Sons of Kemet), the mysterious trio has been making itself known little by little for the past year.”

The band’s appearance at the festival was part of their ongoing European tour in support of their debut album A Light For Attracting Attention. The supergroup’s album was released on 13th May 2022 via XL Recordings and was produced by Nigel Godirch, Radiohead’s long-term producer and collaborator. The album sired six singles, “You Will Never Work In Television Again”, “The Smoke”, “Skirting On The Surface”, “Pana-vision”, “Free In The Knowledge” and “Thin Thing”.

Whilst on their current tour the band have premiered three new songs, “Funeral Of A Friend”, “Colours Fly” and “Bodies Laughing” which was debuted during a show in Berlin last month. A fourth unreleased track was premiered at the Montreux Jazz Festival, the band debuted the grunge rock-inspired track “Bending Hectic” during the set’s encore. The track was so freshly written that Yorke still had the notes by his side, the singer said to the crowd, “I can see the words – that’s good, Cause I just wrote them about half an hour ago. So follow us down the train crash.”

This year marked the Montreux Jazz Festival’s 56th year in action, starting on 1st July 2022 the event consists of over 500 concerts held across 13 stages. The festival concludes on 16th July 2022 with a star-studded line-up, scheduled to play the Auditorium Stravinski are Herbie Hancock and Jamie Cullum. Also set to close the festival are Arlo Parks, Patrick Watson and Phoebe Bridges, all three acts will play Montreux Jazz Lab.

The Smile are next scheduled to appear at the Italian city Macerata with a set at Arena Sferisterio on 17th July 2022. After two more stops on their European tour, the band will return to the UK to perform at this year’s All Points East Festival on 28th August 2022. The band have also announced their first North American tour, the tour is set to take place this Winter and will be in support of their recently released album.

Ross’ highly anticipated appearance at the festival received more than a huge audience, the set has been heralded online and championed by various music publications. The Guardian provided a review of Ross’ set and described it as an “Explosion of Joy”, NME also sang Ross’ praises and referred to her set as “Euphoric”. The iconic singer took to social media to share her landmark performance, Ross’ post includes a montage of the set’s highlights as well as audience reactions.

The Legends slot at Glastonbury is largely reserved for highly influential artists and those with incredibly full back catalogues, both elements which Ross has acquired through her long career. The singer filled the set with her biggest hits such as “My Old Piano”, “Upside Down” and “I’m Coming Out” which quickly became the official theme for Glastonbury 2022. The former The Supremes bandmember also played hits from her time in the group including the hit “You Keep Me Hanging On”.

The singer balanced her set list with a collection of new material, audience members were treated to tracks off her newest album Thank You. The album was released in 2021 and marked the singer’s first studio album since the 2006 release I Love You, Thank You also signalled the singer’s first release of new material since 1999. Included in her set was the album’s title track and its second single “ If The World just Danced”.

The now infamous set also included the rousing anthem “Tomorrow”, during its performance Ross dedicated the song to the audience and her fans. The iconic artist expressed her gratitude to those in attendance and stated, “Everybody here and everybody watching on global television around the world, I want you to know I am so grateful for this life, so grateful to be here with you, I’m filled with thankfulness.”

This year’s Glastonbury also gave the BBC its highest recorded streams and views since the Broadcasting giant began to cover the festival, the statistics showed record-breaking figures for its Glastonbury coverage across its digital platforms. Since the festival was held in person in 2019, streams have soared over 15.8 million/116% via BBC iPlayer and 765,000/205% via BBC Sounds. The broadcasting company’s Glastonbury content was accessed via BBC Sounds over 2.3 million times and streamed via BBC iPlayer 34.1 million times, the high figure incorporates the 23 million streams of its live footage

Speaking on the record-breaking figures, Lora Clarke BBC Director of Music has provided the following statement, “The BBC provided the ultimate armchair experience of the world’s best-loved festival this weekend with a dedicated Glastonbury channel on BBC iPlayer, 6 Music’s All Day Glastonbury coverage, performances from the biggest artists on demand on BBC Sounds and over 35 hours of coverage across our TV channels.  The party isn’t over yet, with over 90 sets and key tracks from the five filmed stages available to watch on BBC iPlayer – including Pyramid Stage performances in Ultra High Definition.”

It is shaping up to be quite the musical treasure hunt about town, venues such as Fabric, The Shacklewell Arms, The Roundhouse, Village Underground and Islington Assembly Hall (among others) will be hosting the various acts from across the globe.

Already lined up are the psychedelic American powerhouses Animal Collective. Courtney Barnett will also be bringing her extensive songbook up to London as well as Jenny Hval, Big Joanie, Injury Reserve and bar italia.  Off the back of her beautiful album Pompeii, Cate Le Bon will join the fun too to round off a tastefully eclectic mix of modern artists. The cancelled show was to be the band’s debut performance at the venue and was part of the band’s series of summer shows, this season will also see the “A Design for Life” hitmakers perform across various festivals and live events. Fans will get a chance to catch the Welsh rockers at this year’s Latitude Festival, the band will perform on 24th July 2022 at Suffolk’s most popular event. The four-day festival is set to kick off this year on 21st July 2022 and boasts a star-studded roster headlined by Lewis Capaldi, Foals and Snow Patrol, also performing at Henham Park are Groove Armada, Rina Sawayama and Modest Mouse.

The Manic Street Preacher’s second festival appearance of the season will take place on 29th July 2022 at Y Not Festival, the Derbyshire held event celebrates its eighth year in 2022 and kicks off on 29^th July 2022. The band are scheduled to headline the three-day event on Friday and will be joined by Stereophonics as the main acts, also billed to headline the event are Courteeners, Nothing But Thieves, Blossoms and The Vaccines.

The group will conclude their festival run with a set at Lakefest on 13th August 2022, the Herefordshire held festival will be held on 11th-14th August 2022 and promises a unique family friendly experience. Manic Street Preachers will headline the event on Saturday, the festival’s third day will also feature performances from Reef, Louse Redknapp and The Reytons. The all-inclusive event will be held in a picturesque venue within Eastnor Castle Deer Park and features a star-studded line-up, also scheduled to headline the activity-packed event are UB40, Leftfield and British rockers Supergrass. Amongst the 190 acts and activities available to ticket-holders, Lakefest have also confirmed that The Red Devils, the parachute display team, will also be appearing at this year’s event.

The band have recently finished a run of live dates with American rockers The Killers, the Manic Street Preachers supported the “Mr Brightside” hitmakers during their UK stadium tour. Both bands last performed together on 1st June 2022 at Middlesbrough River Stadium, 53-year-old singer Bradfield has spoken on the tour, “It’s been great watching The Killers, watching a frontman like Brandon Flowers still wanting it that much. For me it’s inspiring. Being further down the road in your career, to get up and just go on stage and just still want to absolutely own everything is quite inspiring – it is the secret of being in a band, you’ve still got to really want it.”

A new date for the Manic Street Preacher’s postponed show has yet to be announced, further details concerning the concert will be confirmed in due course.

The Instagram post includes a statement which officially confirms their split, the post also cites the reason for their disbanding and confirms that frontman Baiyewu aims to focus on his solo career. The post also apologies for their withdrawal from the event, Tucker states that they are sorry to miss the hometown show. The Lighthouse Family were billed to perform on Saturday 9th July 2022, the festival organisers have confirmed that they are looking to fill the missing slot and details concerning their replacement will be made in due course.

The show must go on, despite the Lighthouse Family being unable to perform on the Sat Night at the Mouth of the Tyne Festival.

North Tyneside Deputy Mayor Carl Johnson has given the following statement concerning the band’s cancelled set, “We were extremely disappointed to hear that the Lighthouse Family are no longer performing together and will be unable to play their headline slot at the Mouth of the Tyne Festival. A sell-out audience have held on to their tickets throughout the pandemic, and like us, they were looking forward to the performance. However, the decision to pull out of the show has been made by the band leaving us all bitterly disappointed.”

Baiyewu and Tucker formed Lighthouse Family after meeting at university, since their formation the duo have become one of the UK’s most beloved acts. The pair first rose to fame after the release of their debut album, Ocean Drive was released in 1995 and sold over 1.8 million copies within the UK. The group continued their success with a collection of top selling tracks such as “Lifted”, “Lost In Space” and the global record “High”.

After establishing themselves as a top selling act the duo first decided to call it quits in 2003, they reformed in 2010 and embarked on a UK and Ireland tour in 2011. The group released their fourth studio album eighteen years after their last full release, Blue Sky In Your Head was made available on 5th July 2019. The album reached number three on the UK album charts and is now regarded as the artist’s last studio album as the Lighthouse Family.

The Mouth of Tyne Festival is organised by the North Tyneside Council and has been a staple of any music fan’s summer since its formation in 2005. Due to Covid and its subsequent restrictions the event was last held in a traditional live format in 2019, the sold-out festival included performances from Sam Fender, Rick Astley and the Proclaimers. This year sees the festival make a triumphant return after its two-year hiatus, the three-day festival will take place on 8th-10th July 2022 at Tynemouth priory and castle.

Set to headline on Friday are British indie rockers Keane, the Brit award winning band will also be joined by special guests and Eliza Shaddad. The event has confirmed that Sophie Ellis-Bextor will headline on Sunday, the “Murder On The Dancefloor” singer will be joined by Newton Faulkner plus many more acts yet to be announced. The festival will also hold a single day event on Monday 18th July 2022, welsh musician John Cale will perform live at the Playhouse Whitley Bay. Along with the confirmation of the band’s exit from the festival, the event organisers have confirmed that refunds are available upon request

The talented trio returned to the live stage with founding members Mutya Buena, Keisha Buchanan and Siobhan Donaghy, after several line-up changes the group have officially re-formed with all three original band members. With four platinum albums under their belt, the band have become known as one of the UK’s most successful girl groups. The Brit award winning group treated ticketholders to a large collection of their hits including “Too Lost In You”, “Overload”, “Round Round” and “Push The Button”.

During their show stopping set, Buchanan said to the crowd, “This is our first show in so long. The last couple of years have been tough on all of us . . . But I’d like to think we’re way more resilient than people think. We’re all here today, right?”

The very special concert comes weeks before the group’s appearance at this year’s Glastonbury festival, the “Freak Like Me” singers will perform on the Field of Avalon stage on 24th June 2022. Buchanan spoke with The Sun newspaper last month concerning their upcoming set, “This is going to be something special for our fans. We can’t wait.”

The original band members initially reformed in 2012 under the name Mutya Keisha Siobhan, after confirming their reunion the group then began to tease new music. During the winter of 2012, the trio performed an intimate concert, after fan made videos of the set went viral the reunion was further established. Following several releases, Buchanan achieved ownership of the Sugababes name and trademark, in 2019 the trio reclaimed their former band name.

The group had originally planned their comeback for 2020 but due to the rise of COVID-19 and subsequent challenges the reunion was put on hold, the band scheduled their return to align with their anniversary. Buchanan took to Instagram live to discuss the group’s derailed schedule,  “We had so many plans for last year. 2020 was our anniversary year, we built it up to do so many things but it didn’t happen, so we have to restructure. We just have to be motivated to do it and passionate about it and once we are actually in the studio it flows really easily for us. But it’s about getting us all on the same page on the same date and the pandemic makes it really tricky. It just has to be organic and be on the same page as far as our schedules are concerned.”

Donaghy has also discussed the group’s plans, last year the singer stated that they have been working on new material, “There’s nothing concrete at the moment, but we are working on stuff all the time and definitely new music. We love making music together and that’s something we’re going to continue to do. And hopefully it won’t be too long now, now that we can be in the studio together again.“

The upcoming concert will be held on 22nd-23rd July 2022 in Portugal’s Azores. Alongside a star-studded line-up, lucky ticketholders will also get to experience the beautiful surroundings of Sete Cidades Massif volcano, a historic crater located between two lakes. Presently used as a naturally formed theatre and concert venue, its last eruption was recorded in 1880.

The inaugural event will be held in support of global conservation and will be hosted by Nicole Scherzinger, the former Pussycat Doll will also join the confirmed acts on stage for a special performance. Keeping with the event’s eco-friendly cause, the concert also promises to be a low emission event and aims to put a spotlight on the progressive work seen within conservation’s leading organisations. The summer event was established by Atlantis Entertainment, the record label and global music and entertainment conglobate responsible for the career of many high-profile artists.

Bettencourt has become known in the industry for his talent and success within various avenues within the entertainment world. The Portuguese American artist first rose to fame as the lead guitarist in rock band Extreme, shortly after the release of their debut album Bettencourt scored a billboard hit for his work on the Janet Jackson single “Black Cat”. The Grammy-award winning artist has also made waves for his work as a producer, Bettencourt has worked with some of music’s biggest acts including Toni Braxton, Rhianna and Nickelback.

Included within the many organisations which are to be showcased are Sea Legacy, The Ocean Cleanup, Blue Azores and Re:wild, the operation aims to utilise education and collaborations to promote biodiversity. Chief scientist and CEO of Re:Wild, Wes Sechrest has given the following statement concerning the forthcoming concert,  “Biodiversity, from wildlife to ecosystems, underpins the existence of life on Earth. We are excited to be a part of Concert for Earth, a celebration of the symphony of life on our unique planet and an invitation to come together to protect and restore nature for the benefit of biodiversity, the climate, and all of us.”

The event encourages donations from ticketholders and those at home, alongside the donated funds the event also promises that 100% of the money obtained will be given to the featured charities and non-profit organisations. Tickets are now on sale for residents and locals to the Azores area, those who are unable to attend will still be able to watch selected highlights. As from Saturday 23rd July 2022 handpicked performances will be available to watch virtually via the Veeps platforms.
