Kodaline have announced their final farewell with tour dates announced for the UK, Europe, Australia and Asia. This announcement comes some six months after the Irish band told fans that they would step away from the band which was formed in November 2006. The tour which will be a final goodbye for fans, will also undoubtedly be emotional for the rock band who said that their journey has been the stuff dreams are made of. In a statement made to the BBC they also thanked fans for their love and support for an unforgettable journey.

The tour will begin unofficially in Cork and Dublin in June where the band will play two shows. But fans across the world who also want to catch the band on their last set of performances will be glad to see that the 29 date tour stretches across the world. The band will start the tour in Singapore in August before continuing on in Asia before visiting Australia. They will then take a two month break before starting the UK and European leg including a whopping seven dates in Germany before finishing in Manchester on December 12.

Kodaline’s claim to fame was their appearance on Ireland’s You’re a Star, a reality music completion where they finished runners up in November 2006. Known then as 21 Demands, the band released their first single ‘Give Me A Minute’ which went to number one on the Irish Singles Chart. Following their name change, Kodaline released their debut EP ‘The Kodaline EP’ in September 2012. Their debut album ‘In A Perfect World’ came out in June 2013 and reached number three in the UK. They released three more albums ‘Coming Up For Air’, ‘Politics of Living’ and ‘One Day At a Time’ before they announced their split. Although the release date and title for their fifth and final are still unknown, Kodaline have also confirmed it’s upcoming release. Although fans have started to speculate it may be ‘We Were Only Young’ following recent captions of posts from the band posted to Instagram over the last week.

Don Broco have announced a new UK and European tour for this year, in support of their new album ‘Nightmare Tripping’. Similarly to the release of the album, tickets for the European and UK tour will be released on March 27th. Fans are able to access presale tickets for the tour if they pre-order the album before March 24th. Don Broco began promotions for ‘Nightmare Tripping’ in July 2025 with the single ‘Cellophane’. ‘Hype Man’, ‘Disappear’ followed in September before the release of ‘Euphoria’ in November. ‘Nightmare Tripping’ and its promotions follows something of a hiatus for the band who released their last album over five years ago. The band took a brief break before a collaboration with Nickelback for the title single ‘Nightmare Tripping’ in February 2026.

The alternative rock band are planning eighteen shows in Europe and the UK between June and October of this year. This will mark the band’s sixth headlining tour. The tour will begin in Belgium on June 4th as they embark on the European leg, going on to visit Germany, The Netherlands, The Czech Republic, Slovenia, Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Austria, Switzerland and France. There will then be a short break in the tour due to scheduled performances at Rock For People festival in the Czech Republic in June and alongside Biffy Clyro at Finsbury Park in July. Don Broco will continue the tour in the UK in September starting in Lincoln, before finishing in Bristol in October. Dates for the UK leg include visits to Sheffield, Edinburgh, Manchester, Liverpool, Newcastle, Birmingham and Norwich. Fans have been somewhat confused and aggrieved as currently there are no plans for Don Broco to perform their new album in London. Elsewhere, German fans are equally excited as on the promotional poster for the tour, the date in Cologne on June 24th has been singled out as a day to remember.

The Bedford born band were formed in 2008 by schoolmates Rob Damiani (lead vocals), Simon Delaney (guitar), Tom Doyle (bass and programming), and Matt Donnelly (drums, lead and backing vocals).
After gaining popularity with independently released EP’s ‘The Bells Sketch’, ‘CMYK’ and ‘Klavierwerke’, Blake was signed to A&M records and released his self-titled debut album in February 2011. Despite being leaked days after its announcement, ‘James Blake’ was received with critical acclaim and was later nominated for the 2011 Mercury Prize. Following his departure for A&M, Blake signed to its’ sister label Republic Records and released his second album ‘Overgrown’ in April 2013. Albums ‘The Colour in Anything’, ‘Assume Form’, ‘Friends That Break Your Heart’ and ‘Playing Robots Into Heaven’ followed in 2016, 2019, 2021 and 2023 respectively. Blake returned today with ‘Trying Times’ under his own independent label Good Boy Records. Although his music is heavily influenced by electronic and experimental sound, Blake manages to maintain the nuance of a singer-songwriter with lyrics based around religion, the state of the world and his decade long relationship with actress Jameela Jamil.

In the time between his last album and ‘Trying Times’, Blake collaborated with UK rapper Dave for the critically acclaimed album ‘The Boy Who Played the Harp’ and also contributed to the soundtrack for the Oscar nominated and BAFTA winning film Sinners.

The leg of the tour will be locked between the ‘No One Knows’ band’s gigs in North America across October and November. The name of The Catacombs tour was first inspired by the band’s experience of playing in the famous Parisian underground burial network, a performance that was later released on film. The concert was the first of a kind and showed brand new arrangements of the band’s work, including the addition of a string section and alternatives on the drums.

The rockers said in a press release: “The Catacombs Tour will see arrangements of Queens Of The Stone Age’s work, including the addition of a string section and creative alternatives to a drum kit.ee QOTSA draw upon the spirit of those sublime subterranean renditions and infuse it into reimagined versions that promise to twist the volume knob in both directions. Enhanced by assembled ensembles, the end result will be a precious few unique and intimate performances unlike any previous QOTSA tour.”

Fans should expect to hear classic tracks as frontman Josh Homme previously hit out at artists who do not perform their popular hits live. The lead singer told the Tuna on Toast With Stryker podcast in 2023: “I understand that I’m always going to play No One Knows because I still like playing that song and that’s something that it’s an agreement with the audience. I assume that this is a part of coming here to see us, and here you go. When there’s bands that don’t want to play their big song or their big songs, I always think it’s a little c**** to do that. Acting like a song that a lot of people like is a burden is just a strange reaction to the gift that your fans have given you. Seems like an odd reaction.”

It has officially been announced that the MTV Europe Music Awards will be taking place in Manchester, United Kingdom, at the new Co-op Live Arena on the 10th of November, 2024. The Co-op Live Arena will open on the 23rd of April, 2024 and upon said open, it will be ranked as the UK’s largest entertainment venue. So far, the details that have become public knowledge include that the capacity for the Co-op Live Arena is capped at 23, 500 people. The act opening the show will be Manchester’s local comedian Peter Kay, and other acts are still to be announced. There is clearly a lot of love and the feeling of British pride being poured into the venue as Harry Styles, who grew up 30 miles from the arena, is investing in the arena’s construction and is a fellow decision maker on its design aspects.

The event was formerly recognised as the MTV European Music Awards when it was first held on November 24th, 1994 to honour European artists who have made their mark on the pop culture scene. It first came to fruition as an alternative event to the United State’s MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs), which stretches beyond Europe’s borders.

It is the first time this prestigious and globally renowned ceremony is taking place in Manchester and will be presented by Paramount International Networks. According to The Guardian, the leader of the Manchester city council, Bev Craig, has expressed his excitement: “With the expertise, experience and reputation we also have for delivering successful, world-class events, we’re confident Manchester will provide a superb platform for the best MTV EMAs yet.”

Manchester is not the only British venue to host the event. The locations in the UK that have been home to the ceremony in the past include: London, Liverpool, Belfast, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Thus, this year is an exciting event for two reasons: Firstly, it has not been hosted in the UK for a total of seven years. Secondly, anticipation has been building since the ceremony was cancelled in 2023. It was set to be held in Paris but the show did not go on due to the Israel-Hamas conflict which continues to send ripples of devastation on an international scale. In the year prior (2022) it was hosted in Düsseldorf, Germany.

However, there has been controversy rising in regards to the details of the event as the clock ticks and the calendar counts down. ASM Global, the operator of AO Arena in Manchester; also referred to as the “enemy” of the soon to be functional Co-op Live Arena, is not being shy in sharing their (not so subtle) concerns about the arena’s operating licence. According to The Guardian, ASM are arguing in order to “safeguard public safety…” and to ensure “the prevention of public nuisance”. The chief operating officer of Oak View Group and owner of Co-op Live, Mark Donnelly, is reportedly “quite disappointed to see [ASM] are trying to put conditions on us when they operate with an unrestricted licence. We feel these are competition-based.”

On a lighter note, Manchester seems to be the perfect location, as music is in its DNA and is at the heart of its creative and vibrant city centre. It is the historical home of musical legends, such as New Order, The Stone Roses and Oasis. It is a prosperous and booming city, and will be even more so with the multi-million pound boost that this event is predicted to provide for it. It’s an exciting future ahead, especially on November 10th!

Suffolk extreme metal act Cradle Of Filth have announced that they will be hitting the road in Europe in early 2024. The band will be bringing along horror rocker Wednesday 13 as support who has confirmed he will be performing a Murderdolls set.

Cradle Of Filth, purveyors of gothic inspired black/symphonic metal, will be travelling through Europe beginning in February of 2024 on the Necromantic Fantasies Tour. Active for over 20 years, it may come as a surprise to many that the band have yet to grace certain stages throughout the continent, including Turkey, where the band will be performing for the first time.

Cradle Of Filth frontman Dani Filth said of the tour, “we are so looking forward to performing at all these extraordinary places on this tour – it will be our first time playing in Turkey, can you believe it?” In the company of two great bands – Wednesday 13 and Sick N’ Beautiful – the anticipation for some riotous performances is running very high across the Baltics, the Balkans and Eastern Europe. So prepare yourselves for a night never to be forgotten, one of maleficent spectacle and debauch! You have been warned! See you early next year fellow Filthlings.”
Notable for their shock rock stage presence, Cradle Of Filth have broken into more mainstream avenues in recent years, receiving attention from some of the scene’s most high profile outlets. With the release of 2021’s Existence Is Futile, the band have even begun to garner success-the likes of which was perhaps unreachable for an extreme metal act in years gone by. The album was also a critical and popular success for the band.
Cradle Of Filth’s inclusion of popular horror themed musician Wednesday 13 is sure to delight long time fans of both Cradle Of Filth and Wednesday 13’s former group Murderdolls which featured ex-Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison. Wednesday 13 has stated he will be playing a selection of hits from the band’s debut album, Beyond The Valley Of The Murderdolls as well as a few selections off of the band’s final album Women And Children Last.

Speaking on the tour, Wednesday 13 said, “We are extremely excited to be hitting the road with our friends in Cradle Of Filth. We will be performing in places in Europe that we’ve never been or haven’t been to in quite some time. We can’t wait to see you all on this tour!”
Wednesday 13 released his album, Horrifier last October-his ninth studio effort since the disbandment of Murderdolls in 2004. The band will feature on a number of festivals across the UK and Europe and now, have added three headlining shows of their own, sandwiched in between.

One of the hardest working bands on the rock scene, Architects have somehow found the time to add an exciting three headlining shows in Bulgaria, Poland and Hungary in July and August respectively. Continuing to tour in support of their latest release, The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit, the European festival season is a perfect chance for the band to further develop their fanbase, while proving their arena-sized credentials.

The group released Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit, to a somewhat mixed reception from fans and critics alike. Hinting at the musical direction that they would take on 2021’s For Those that Wish to Exist, Classic Symptoms traded in much of the metallic aggression of earlier records for a more Bring Me the Horizon-esque electronic sound that have left the band having to endure, what is sometimes, alarming levels of backlash from fans.

None of this has deterred the band however, as Architects embarked on what is perhaps their biggest gigs yet-opening for Metallica on their European stadium tour run. Opening for one of rock’s truly legendary bands will no doubt add an illustrious feather in Architect’s cap, playing to die hard metal fans in sold out stadium venues.

A successful tour, serving as openers for Scottish alternative rock band Biffy Clyro followed soon after Classic Symptom’s release, with Architects exposing themselves to swathes of new fans who were introduced to their “brand” of heavy and perhaps opening up a hitherto untapped market that most heavier acts never come close to.

Architect’s festival run includes: Rock am Ring in Germany, Download Festival, Hellfest and Knotfest alongside their three headlining shows.

Architects European Headline shows:

27/07/2023 – Summer Stage – Port of Burgas, Bulgaria
29/07/2023 – Progresja Summer Stage – Warsaw, Poland

The English “Fire Woman” rock band, The Cult, have just landed a new selection of tour dates coming up this summer. Coming back this year after their recent release of their 11th studio album Under The Midnight Sun. Released in October last year and welcomed happily by their listeners, the band come together again to give their fans an anticipated live show of the album.

In June their journey will commence touring through cities around Europe. On the 14th June they arrive at Brussels to kick off their tour. They will then proceed to wander their way through Stuttgart, Madrid, Barcelona, Bilbao, Lausanne, Budapest, Kragujevac, Zagreb and Pordenone. Once they’ve finished in Croatia they will be bouncing back to the UK. The Cult will be well received by Cardiff on the 4th July, Halifax on the 5th of July, Scarborough on the 6th of July and their finishing line comes as a surprise. Across the pond, Sacramento will be the privileged city to give the band their last standing ovation later on the 5th October.

The frontman of the band, Ian Astbury, defines the making of Under The Midnight Sun as “It is a different animal. It destroys ‘Hidden City’ and anything else we’ve done in quite a while. We dug deep and put a lot of blood, sweat and tears into this record”. In an interview on Rock Antenne he amusingly hints that he was the only hard worker within the creation of the project. Working within a team – the band – is clear to be tricky sometimes. “Yeah, there was a pandemic within the band. It’s like most family’s – it’s a mess” he chuckles.

To not cut the announcement of good news short, they have released a new music video alongside their tour dates drop. The video is an engulfing representation of the enigmatic and dark side of the song. This workpiece is the creation of their longtime collaborator Juan Azulay, well known for his exotic and powerful creations.

The album is a creation from a stilled lockdown. A moment to breathe the heart in and, according to Ian Astbury, recalculate his thoughts as well as analyse the feeling he assumed when he found himself “under the midnight sun”. He recalls this moment from when he was in Finland. “It’s three in the morning, the sun’s up, and there’s all these beautiful people in this halcyon moment,” Astbury recalls. “People are laying on the grass, making out, drinking, smoking. There were rows of flowers at the front of the stage from the performances earlier that evening.

Having been engrossed by this transfixing moment, they collectively worked towards turning the latter into musical shape and frequency.

Tickets for The Cult tour are on sale here.

UK Tour Dates:

04/07/2023 – Cardiff Castle – Cardiff
05/07 – The Piece Hall – Halifax
06/07 – Scarborough Air Theatre – Scarborough

Elton John has entered the steamy debate surrounding the difficulties which will now face emerging British musicians in post-Brexit Europe. Writing in The Guardian, he describes the ensuing set of circumstances as ‘an administrative nightmare that vastly increases the cost of staging a European tour.’ John speaks candidly about how he, like The Beatles, cut his teeth playing to European audiences in Hamburg and expresses great sadness that this will not be something that current emerging artists are likely to be able to do.

The veteran British artists and knight of the realm made his thoughts very clear about the lack of consideration for musicians in the Brexit negations, saying that ‘The situation we’re now in is ridiculous. Music is one of Britain’s greatest cultural exports. It contributed £5.8bn to the British economy in 2019, but was left out of the Brexit trade negotiations when other industries weren’t.’ Despite all of this the governments response to protests from the industry following the release of the deal’s details has been reluctant at most and seemed mostly to be an attempt at shirking most of the blame to the European side.

These comments from Elton John come a couple of weeks after he announced in his Instagram profile that he had signed a letter ‘urging the UK government to fulfil its promise to negotiate permit and paperwork-free travel in Europe for British artists, their road crew and equipment.’ The announcement was paired with an image of the singer performing in Verona, Italy in 2019. The biggest concern Sir Elton John has, he says, not for himself who will still be able to perform in Europe, but for the younger emerging artists who do not have the same financially resources which come with a long established career. The singer states that ‘none of this affects me. I’m lucky enough to play big venues and have a huge organisation supporting me. My tours can absorb these costs, and I have people working for me who can sort out the admin.’

The Guardian also reports that Radiohead’s bassist Colin Greenwood has written an article due to be published tomorrow in the paper which further criticises the changes. According to Greenwood, ‘The costs of travel and accommodation are already high, and the extra paperwork and expenses would rise quickly for a touring orchestra.’ If these costs are set to be so high that musicians are worrying about the fate of touring orchestras, then surely bands emerging from grassroots venues and scenes in the UK will have an even tougher time, with European tours already operating on a shoestring budget pre-Brexit.

The situation is mired in confusion and miscommunication and pretty much everyone in the UK music industry is disappointed with how the government has handled their interests in the negotiations. After the announcement of the final Brexit deal which had not mention of visa considerations for musicians, a petition was launched to counter this and the government’s culture minister will have some difficult questions to answer when it is debated in parliament tomorrow.
