London alternative rock quartet Wolf Alice have been unveiled as the main attraction for this year’s Eden Sessions, taking place across June and July. They will open the festivities on Tuesday the 16th of June, before the Cornish site welcomes a variety of stars over several weeks.

The Eden Project is a rejuvenated clay quarry near St Austell in Cornwall, transformed into a botanical garden with two gigantic plastic biomes, which opened to the public in 2001. Due to its beautiful uniqueness, they began booking musical performances in 2002, and thus the Eden Sessions were born. The Eden Project has managed to draw major domestic acts such as Brit-pop band Pulp for their first Sessions in 2002, live sensations Muse in 2006, and hosting one of Oasis’s final shows before their split in 2009. They have also drawn a range of international acts, including Blink-182, Skrillex, and Queens Of The Stone Age.

2026 marks the 25th anniversary of the Eden Project, and in celebration they’ve spared no expense on live talent. This year’s offering features British acts in Snow Patrol, Bastille, Becky Hill, Frank Turner, and The Maccabees. It’s rounded off with American bands Pixies and Bowling For Soup.

Headliners Wolf Alice were formed in London in 2010, by singer Ellie Rowsell and guitarist Joff Oddie, with the lineup completed by bassist Theo Ellis and drummer Joel Amey. In the announcement made by Eden Sessions’ organisers, they highlight Oddie having ties to Cornwall. They won the 2018 Mercury Prize for second album ‘Visions Of A Life’, going on to win the Brit Award for Best British Group in 2022, and scoring number one albums with both 2021’s ‘Blue Weekend’, and 2025’s ‘The Clearing’.

The band’s sound has evolved greatly, from early days as an acoustic folk-tinged duo, to creating their own brand of indie rock branching across a wide span of influences. Rowsell’s dynamic vocal range has also made them a well established name in the British live circuit. Their 2025 tour in support of ‘The Clearing’ took them to the big stages of arenas, generating so many sales that they capped it off with two sold out nights at the O2 Arena in London. As well as their opening night show at the Eden Sessions, they are also set to play Trans Mission, a solidarity concert benefiting the transgender community, held at the Wembley Arena in London on the 11th of March, and a Teenage Cancer Trust event at London’s Royal Albert Hall on the 29th of March.

The view at night at the Eden Sessions

The Eden Project has become one of the UK’s most interesting and exciting open-air venues, boasting a one-of-a-kind view as their iconic domes are illuminated as the sun sets. The ticket price also provides park access to the botanical gardens before the music begins, making it a full family-friendly day out. This year’s Eden Sessions run from the 16th of June to the 11th of July. Tickets for Wolf Alice are available on the Eden Sessions’ “Inside Track” now, with general sale beginning on their website on Thursday the 22nd of January at 10am.

    The Eden Sessions are a set of outdoor concerts held at the Eden Project in Cornwall. The concerts are held in high regard as one of the best places to see live music, with the Evening Standard saying “The nearest you can get to watching a gig on the moon.” The Eden Project, where the concerts are held, opened in March 2001. In the year following, August 2002, the first Eden Sessions took place with Pulp headlining the first show, and big name artists such as Oasis, Amy Winehouse, Kylie, Elton John, and more headlining over the years.

Madness are a ska and pop band formed in Camden Town, London in 1976. Current active members include Chris Foreman, Mike Barson, Lee Thompson, Graham “Suggs” McPherson, Dan Woodgate and Mark Bedford, with five past members Cathal “Chas Smash” Smyth, John Hastler, Dikran Tulaine, Gavin Rodgers and Garry Dovey. Their first release “The Prince”, a homage to their idol Prince Buster, was a hit on the UK charts, reaching number 16 despite their rookie status. Their most well-known song is the 1982 track “House of Fun, ” their only UK number-one single. Their most recent album “Theatre of the Absurd Presents C’est la Vie” also took the number one spot on the UK albums chart.

Gary Barlow is an English singer, songwriter and member of the well-known band Take That. Born in 1971 in Cheshire, he became lead singer in Take That in 1989. He wrote many of the group’s songs, including Take That’s first UK charts number-one single “Pray”. He embarked on a solo career in 1996 and is also active in the band with members Howard Donald and Mark Owen (previous members include Robbie Williams and Jason Orange). Barlow’s most recent music release is the 2023 album “This Life” with Take That, which peaked at number one on the UK albums chart.

The Script are an Irish rock band from Dublin, formed in 2001. The current members are Danny O’Donoghue, Glen Power, Benjamin Sargeant and Ben Weaver, with only one past member Mark Sheehan who passed away last year. After signing to record label Sony Label Group, they began working in London and released their debut album “The Script” in 2008 – the album reached number one in the UK charts. They are known for mainstream hits “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” and “Hall of Fame”. Their most recent release is the album “Satellites” which peaked at number two on the official album charts.

Madness last performed at the Eden Project in 2017 and it’s no surprise that they have been invited to perform again off the back of their recent chart success. The managing director of the Eden Sessions, Rita Broe, expressed her excitement in a comment, “We can’t wait to see what the band have in store for us this time around.”

The Eden Project is always home to some superb gigs, this year IDLES are set to play the iconic venue. The shows have been in fans’ diaries for some time, with the shows originally scheduled for June and July. All things being well, the band will bring their unique, political punk tunes to Cornwall in September of this year. IDLES are gearing up for a mega year of shows, with UK, Europe, US and South America dates in the diary. They bagged their first ever number one album last year, with ‘Ultra Mono’ and fans are itching to hear the band unleash new tracks live.

A pilot event took place in Liverpool this week, with Stockport indie-lads, Blossoms, taking to the main stage for the first live gig in months. Festivals are announcing lineups left, right and centre and there seems to be a real feeling of optimism as Brits deliberate concert plans over a pint in the sun (or rain).

IDLES will be joined by Black Honey, fresh from the release of their second studio offering ‘Written and Directed’. The album was met with a strong response from fans and journos and landed the Brighton band their first top-ten album. Black Honey have quite the CV when it comes to tour support, opening for Royal Blood and Queens of The Stone Age – they will be able to add IDLES to this impressive list come September.

Also on the bill are fellow Bristol-rockers Spectres: they’re a noise-rock outfit who have built quite the cult-following off the back of three albums. Fans are sure to flock to this one, with three exceptional bands performing in a truly iconic and beautiful setting. Roll on summer!

Among these dates, Bryan Adams will be making an appearance at Eden Sessions in Cornwall on the 5th of July. He will be joining some of music’s biggest names such as My Chemical Romance, Diana Ross and Lionel Richie. A lot of these acts were set to play the festival in 2020 but it had to be cancelled because of the ongoing global health crisis.

This isn’t Bryan Adams’ first time at Eden Sessions, he previously performed at the festival in 2017. Speaking about his return to the stage, Rita Broe, managing director of Eden Sessions Ltd, said; “Bryan’s triumphant performance electrified Eden in the summer of 2017 and remains one of our all-time great Sessions. It will be a massive pleasure to welcome this superstar back to Eden for what is sure to be another fantastic show.”

These live shows are welcomed news following a live gig Bryan Adams was meant to perform in Germany in front of 7,000 people in August. The concert was a test event to see how the country to go about allowing crowds back into shows during the pandemic, similar to the Frank Turner gig at The Clapham Grand in July. Unfortunately the Germany gig had to be cancelled because of the spike of COVID-19 cases in Germany at the time.
