English post-punk band Eagulls have released information on a UK tour which is planned for early next year.

The band originated in Leeds, consisting of George Mitchell, Henry Rudell, Mark Goldsworthy, Liam Matthews and Tom Kelly. Their Ginnels, Alleys, Jitties and Snickets tour is set to start off in March 2016 and will include dates in Bristol, Norwich and London alongside smaller cities and towns such as Aldershot, Leicester and Salford.

A press release stated: “the tour will comprise of an intimate run of smaller towns and cities in advance of a busy 2016 when the band will release their second album.

Eagulls released their self-titled debut album through Partisan Records in March 2014 and it soon gained recognition amongst post-punk fans around the world. They later supported Scottish rock band Franz Ferdinand on tour. The five piece from Leeds brought a mixture of punk ethos and viscera with a slight mixture of pop fusion to the music scene, evoking an Oasis/The Cribs sound with raw passion.

The tour will be around the same time as the release of their second album, therefor promoting the post-punk bands new material. Following the tour, the band is also expected to announce further dates worldwide including UK, Europe and US alongside slots at festivals globally.

Eagulls will play the following dates:

Bristol Fiddlers (March 3)

The Leeds Prog-Punk boys have caused quite the uproar with the release of their controversial, stomach turning new single Nerve Endings.

The videos aims to capture the nerves and anxiety to go with the lyrics of the song, and how did the Eagulls lads decide to do this? By filming the slow decay of a pig’s brain in the basement of their house!

The boys got into a fair bit of trouble when the gas man came round to read the meter only to find what he thought was a dark, sinister and quite possibly evil video being made in the basement. Unfortunately the do gooder gas man calls the police leading to the Eagulls front door being kicked in and the house searched. Luckily for punk music nobody was hurt and the lads got off free.

The video really is a gory one with plenty of maggots and brain juice to turn even the strongest of stomachs. I would rate it somewhere between the cannibalistic cook in Queens of the Stone Age’s Sick Sick Sick and the truly disturbing video to Geek Stink Breath by Green Day which feature live dental surgery of teeth being yanked out.

Video aside it’s a great song by the lads and the band are well worth checking out. It leaves plenty of promise for their upcoming album full of heavily distorted guitar riffs and proper UK punk vocals. Catch Eagulls graphic video below.
