With over 30 events and a capacity of 15,000 attendees, the venue continues to redefine the scale and spectacle of London clubbing.

Drumsheds is collaborating with some of the most respected entities in dance music. New season partners include Warp Records, Resistance, TRESOR, Terminal V, as well as long-time allies such as Defected, Worried About Henry and The Hydra.

The lineup spans the full breadth of electronic and urban culture, artists range from Paul Kalkbrenner (live) and Peggy Gou to Ardent techno figures like Amelie Lens and Adam Beyer, mainstream heavyweights like DJ Snake, funk-house sensations such as Purple Disco Machine and dance music royalty, Leftfield.

Previously, Drumheads have hosted some of the biggest names in the industry. On November 9 2024, Drumsheds welcomed the “30 Years of Bugged Out!” celebration, a landmark event that included a DJ set from The Chemical Brothers, performances by Modeselektor, Octave One live and Simian Mobile Disco. And in early 2025, Drumsheds hosted the Red Bull Culture Clash, featuring crews like WSTRN, Spice, Ghetts and Flowdan.

Drumsheds have also used the summer period to bring in a number of changes to the venue space. One of the most significant improvements comes in the form of enhanced sound. A new d&b audiotechnik system has been installed, promising more consistent clarity throughout the building. Room X has been fitted with additional infra-bass units, enriching the low-end and delivering a more physical, immersive sound experience.

Another major focus has been room redesigns. Room X now benefits from upgraded acoustics, improving sound distribution and reducing reverb, while Room Y has been reconfigured to improve sightlines and audience circulation. These changes ensure that even in the busiest moments, both performance and crowd experience remain seamless.

To further improve logistics, the venue has introduced a 360-degree circulation path. This new flow system, supported by expanded entry lanes, significantly reduces queues and bottlenecks, something especially crucial for events with such big capacities.

These upgrades follow improvements unveiled earlier in May, including acoustic draping in the main hall, chill-out areas, and refined queuing systems. Each step reflects Drumsheds’ commitment to evolving with the needs of its audience, enhancing both comfort and spectacle.

This season, the venue is not only delivering world-class music – it’s shaping the future of nightlife, proving that scale and intimacy can exist side by side.

Tottenham superclub Drumsheds is at risk of losing its licence after two drug-related deaths and a non-fatal stabbing on the premises.

The refurbished IKEA warehouse has a capacity of 15,000 and has hosted day festivals as well as club nights for mainly dance music. The venue is currently subject to an emergency licensing review after the Met Police asked Enfield Council to investigate.

The review comes after multiple incidents at or near the club. A 27-year-old man died after attending an event on October 12, and a 29-year-old woman after an event on December 7 – both deaths are believed to be drug-related. Another man was attacked with a weapon inside the venue on November 16th.

A spokesperson for the police said: “Public safety is our priority and following a request from the Metropolitan Police, Enfield Council held an extraordinary licensing hearing for Drumsheds, operated by Broadwick Live.”

“This follows three serious incidents at the venue in recent weeks, with our officers investigating two unexpected deaths and a non-fatal stabbing.”

At the licensing hearing, the venue was allowed to keep its license before a final decision to continue or condemn the club is made on January 7. Additional contingencies and conditions have been put in place, such as an increased police presence. Enfield Councillor Susan Erbil said, “council officers and the police will continue to monitor the premises to ensure these conditions are in place.”

The nightclub, which opened in 2023, is one of the world’s biggest and has a size of 608,000 square feet, which is about the size of eight football pitches. It’s played host to big names such as The Chemical Brothers and Four Tet. But it’s recently come under fire for overcrowding, specifically at an event for D’n’B label UKF on December 13.

UKF – unsafe conditions/Rant

Upset concertgoers complained about the crowding, unsafe queues and “aggressive” security on social media, with a petition being launched for fans to receive refunds. “Numerous people were subjected to frightful conditions that risked their safety at a recent event ran at the venue Drumsheds in London,” the petition reads. It goes on to speak about the possibility of “crowd crushing” and “widespread panic and fear” among the attendees.

A review from Music Tech put forward the chaotic gig as potentially the “worst-organized event at the venue yet”, calling its safety measures “woefully inadequate”. First-hand accounts from disappointed fans reported “ridiculous” queues and feeling unsafe.

Nightlife in the UK is in a floundering state. Research shows that over the past four years, the UK has lost 37% of its clubs, around 10 closing each month. In London, a total of 3,011 night economy business closed between March 2020 and December 2023, the most for any English region. You can read our article on the withering nightlife scene here.

Princess Superstar is back on track. Her resurgence since her 2007 hit ‘Perfect’ (Exceeder) was the soundtrack for the party scene in ‘Saltburn‘, and it has been the sort of second chance that very few artists get to experience. The track, which is now at 100 million plus streams, has rocketed back up the UK singles chart. It has leapt up to number 16 on Spotify’s Global Viral playlist and has since been given a further lease of life in the form of remixes by superstar DJs David Guetta, Jax Jones and Oliver Heldens.

The story of her resurgence doesn’t end there, however. Part two of Princess Superstar’s remarkable comeback takes place this Saturday when she plays her first UK show in over a decade at False Idols this weekend. Having been nominated for ‘Best UK Clubbing Event’ at the Radio One dance awards, False Idols’ second event promises to fill out all corners of Drumsheds with Queer joy and fierce hedonism.

Princess Superstar will play the event’s giant main stage, X Room – The Temple, and she will even share a stage with fellow Saltburn soundtrack star Sophie Ellis-Bextor. The packed line-up is stacked with huge names including bimini, Derrick Carter, Horsegirl, Sonique and a DJ set from Self Esteem. Final tickets for the event are available here.

In her own words, Princess Superstar says, “I am beyond ecstatic to be back in London after 10 years away. The UK has always had my heart – and I can’t wait to rock on Saturday at Drumsheds!!”

It has been a long 20 years since Princess Superstar crossed over from underground favourite to mainstream superstar with the UK #11 hit ‘Bad Babysitter’. The original release of 2007’s ‘Perfect (Exceeder)’, a collaboration with Mason, was bigger still as it peaked at #3, but who could have predicted that it would go on to become so much more?

With her ‘larger than life’ charisma and charm, Princess Superstar has blitzed her way through seven studio albums as well as working with the likes of The Prodigy, Moby, Grandmaster Flash, Amy Schumer and Margaret Cho – not to mention mentoring a pre-fame Lana Del Rey.

The signs that she would be back in the spotlight should have been there, with Dojo Cat lip-syncing her track ‘Famous’ just last year – something which racked up millions of views just last summer.

Princess Superstar has always been a relentless tourer, both as an artist and a DJ, and one might find her anywhere from Coachella to Fuji Rock. One thing is for sure: it certainly won’t be more than a decade before she is back in the UK as she’ll play Warwick Castle on July 7th as a special guest to Mika before returning in August for Brighton Pride’s FABULOSO event.

The 10,000-capacity Drumsheds is due one final show on the 29th before it closes its doors for good. Having only been open for barely even three years, the Edmonton, London venue enjoyed less than a year of life before Covid, which effectively ended nightlife for 18 months. There was hope that Drumsheds would bounce back, but for a venue of its size, upkeeping a venue that is barely earning is an insurmountable task for even the most savvy of businessfolk.

Opening for Field Day 2019, a timeless rendition of the event featuring Skepta, Earl Sweatshirt, Death Grips, and HOMESHAKE, it has since operated as a solo venue, albeit for a shorter amount of time that anyone would have hoped for. The decline of London’s venues is a well-documented and saddening phenonemon, a cultural trend that the Drumsheds had hoped to counter. A new, large venue in a city where these sorts of venues were only decreasing in number was supposed to be a minor source for hope, but with COVID piling on there seemed to be no other alternative.

The ambitious venue combines 10 acres of outdoor space with four interlinked warehouses, all featuring separate acts when operating at its full potential. As it is an appropriate distance from residential properties – situated on the old industrial area of the Tottenham marshes – music can play on until much later than residential venues. The venue was part of the Meridian Water project in Enfield, a £6 billion fund to regenerate the formerly-industrial marshlands into a cultural and creative hub.

Promoters The Hydra were supposed to host their Not To Be event on the 18th of December, yet this was postponed until the 29th of January. The event, featuring Four Tet, Floating Points, Jon Hopkins, and Joy Orbison, will be the Drumsheds last. This sad announcement was made on The Hydra’s Instagram, which you can view below:

“Thank you for your patience while we’ve been working to reschedule our NOT TO BE show, which was unfortunately postponed in December,” the statement from The Hydra reads. “As many of you recognised, postponing the show wasn’t a decision taken lightly – but it was the right call and we appreciate the ongoing support.”

“After a great deal of negotiation, we’re pleased to finally inform you that the show will now be going ahead on Saturday, 29 January 2022 at The Drumsheds.”
