It has been confirmed through recent reports that Sheeran and Seaborn are anticipating the arrival of their baby in the next few weeks. In usual circumstances, the news would be near impossible to keep under wraps for the global superstar, but the forced lockdown from the ongoing coronavirus crisis has meant that the private couple was able to keep the wonderful news quiet for the majority of Seaborn’s pregnancy.

An inside source recently divulged to The Sun that “Ed and Cherry are over the moon. They’re very excited but have kept things very low key. Lockdown was a perfect excuse not to be seen out and about too much, but things are getting closer and the excitement has been building so they have started telling friends and family.”

Seaborn, who herself has an esteemed career as a risk manager for Deloitte, the multinational accounting organisation, will start an unlimited sabbatical following the baby’s birth. A close source confirmed that “Cherry spent last year writing a monster paper for the firm on technology and digital risk. She told bosses at the firm last summer that she planned to take extended leave at the beginning of 2020.”

During motherhood, Seaborn plans to devote her career to ‘green’ projects. The mother-to-be will also be enrolling at Cambridge University to study a post-graduate degree in Sustainable Business. A keen environmentalist like her husband, Seaborn is “working to create a self-sufficient living environment” on their rambling estate, “aiming to produce sustainable energy, as well as all fruit and vegetables whilst nurturing British wildlife through rewilding farmland to wood and native meadow.” 

The inside source continued on the soon-to-be parents, confirming that “They are just making the last of the preparations at home, and the baby is expected later this summer. It’s a really happy time and their families are all totally delighted for them and cannot wait to meet the new arrival.” 

Sheeran, who has remained off of social media since he announced his hiatus from making music, has not yet commented publicly on his upcoming parentage. Sheeran signed off social media in December of 2019, writing “I promise to be back with some new music when the time is right and I’ve lived a little more to actually have something to write about.”

Born in West Yorkshire in 1991, Ed Sheeran is irrefutably one of the biggest and best artists of his generation. Bursting onto the scene with his debut album +, Sheeran has released three amazing studio albums. 

The lyrical mastermind behind global hits like Sing, Galway Girl, You Need Me, I Don’t Need You, and The A Team, Sheeran’s angelic voice, personal lyrics and signature guitar has made him one of the most recognisable faces on the planet. 

Speaking to Pollstar, Stuart Camp, Ed’s manager, said. “What Ed has accomplished is truly incredible, I thought we might have a shot at having the highest attendance record but not the highest grossing tour”.  

Speaking about U2 and the record the Dublin based band had once set, Camp said. “I’m not putting us at that level because they’ve obviously maintained their career for much longer, but to even be in the same ballpark as them or spoken in the same sentence with a touring act like that is very humbling.”

The tour, named after Sheeran’s third album has gained another feat, now officially the most attended tour of all time, with in excess of 8 million people from 43 countries attending Ed’s shows, with an attendance averaging at 34,541 people. This record also beats U2’s own, set at 7.3 million.

Away from the touring scene, the Suffolk singer recently released his latest album, ‘No 6. Collaborations Project’, featuring artists including 50 Cent, Eminem, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars and Cardi B. Two singles lifted from his fourth musical effort, ‘Beautiful People’, (his Khalid collaboration), and ‘I Don’t Care’ featuring Justin Bieber, are currently sitting at number two and three on the Official Singles Chart Top 100 respectively.

The ‘A Team’ singer posted through his Instagram, “Thanks so much for each and every one of you who have come to a show. 12 shows left, will never forget it”. According to the Official Albums Chart Top 100, the singer’s fourth album still remains at number one, marking it’s third week on the top spot.

This new development comes soon after concerned neighbours raised alarms over his use of a wildlife pond built into his estate. The residents believe that he has adopted the pool for ‘recreational activites’, rather than for the purpose as a natural habitat for wildlife, a condition given when he was permitted for the pond’s construction.

He put in an appeal with Suffolk Coastal District Council to remove the condition that the pool can only be used for this sole purpose, hoping it could be adopted for leisure activities such as swimming and fishing.

It’s been reported that the ‘Shape of You’ singer has generated a large property portfolio, said to be worth around £47 million. Records from the Land Registry show that the first property he purchased in the summer of 2012, in Framlingham, Suffolk, went for £895,000, and a second Grade II listed house for £450,000.

It is believed the 28 year old will break the billionaire mark by the time he reaches 30. His recent ‘Divide’ tour has amassed in excess of £400 million, with shows spanning around the globe, from North and South America, Europe and Asia.

Sheeran has been ranked on The Sunday Times Rich List at 17th, reportedly taking in a total of £80 million last year.

The singer is responsible for hits including ‘Shape of You’, ‘The A Team’, ‘Drunk’, and ‘Lego House’. Recently, a giant Ed Sheeran statue appeared in Moscow’s Gorky Park, ahead of a performance in the Russian capital.

As might be expected from the man who recently broke Spotify streaming records and has returned with a bang to the music scene after a year away, the Tour will be a huge one. Lasting from March until June, in total, Sheeran will play twelve dates in the UK alone, kicking off in Glasgow on the 16^th April and wrapping up in London on the 2^nd May. Ed will hit Ireland for a couple of nights as well, playing back to back gigs at the Dublin 3 Arena in April. He also plans to take in the sights of places as diverse as Lima, Peru and Stockholm, Sweden, with many places in between covered as well – you can check out the full schedule at the bottom of this article.

The Tour will begin in Turin on the 17^th March, which will be just a fortnight after the release of Sheeran’s third album, ‘Divide’, which is slated for release on the 3^rd. This suggests an eagerness to get back on the road; the dates at London’s O2 will be Sheeran’s first in the city since his record breaking shows at Wembley in July 2015. It has come as a surprise to some that he hasn’t decided to plan a stadium tour, at least in the UK, this time around.
